Newcastle United v Sheffield Wednesday (League Cup) 23/9/15 7:45 ko

This sums up my feelings as well. I might add DeJong to the list. This coaching staff is absolutely clueless. But worse than that, we have a captain who has no pride, no heart, no soul. He's not leading, he's not calling out horrible play amongst the team or apologizing to fans. I doubt he's shouting in the dressing room or at training. A gutless captain and soft coaching staff set the tone for the club. The rest of the players (save a select few) shrug and cash thier checks as we look down the tunnel at near certain relegation. Without changes in attitude, philosophy and or personnel, there's not much hope in avoiding it. .... But at least we're not the scousers... -
It's just a tease for the comedy account man, leave 'em wanting more. (Edit) Really I missed Rayvin's post. Great minds and all that.

Yes, yes, yes, AND yes. That will be a long URL for the "x out" crowd though.

The only joy they have left in thier miserable existence is the hope of schadenfreude upon Tyne. What a sorry existence. Agree, not worth your time.

West Ham United v Newcastle United 14/9/15 20:00 KO (On Sky)

Perez needs to start against Watford no doubt. Think de Jong should start as well. Wijnaldum seemed invisible. I think they've put some good pieces together, but I think the glaringly obvious point now is that McClaren and his staff do not have the system sorted properly or that he has not gotten the team to understand or believe in the system.... Or it's the wrong system. I think this is fundamentally a coaching problem at this point. -

Aside from a couple of chances, I've seen a lot of Mitrovic standing around after the play and throwing his hands up in the air in frustration over poor passes and crosses. Perez looks like he belongs, should be starting consistently. Get Obertan off for Thauvin. Aside from one shakey challenge, Krul has looked good - the coward. Love how this is 'United' v Newcastle.
-
Coquelin should have had his second yellow twice now. What a farce. If Janmaat played for Arsenal he'd have no trouble.
-
Mbemba looked poor on that goal. If you're trying to play him offsides you'd better be sure of yourself with no safety net behind you. I honestly don't know how Krul resists the temptation to punch one of these defenders in the throat. We don't shop for a couple of defenders, we'll be relying on the Mackems, Villa, and the promoted to be more shit than us. Guessing mcclarenout.com will be purchased soon.

You know they wait for just before the derby to switch. Watch the calendar though, it's coming.
-
Good start to not see Williamson or Gouffran anywhere near the pitch. Still need a defender with some size in the back. Shame not to see Ayoze in, think he should be tried on the wing or try 2 up top.
-
Just watched two Portland goals. Set piece, corner. Now I'm depressed again and going to bed.
-
Would be tempted if I didn't have to drag myself to the office in the AM. I see Wijnal..... (We have a nickname for this guy yet?) netted his first.
-
Agree with this. A couple of weeks ago I was starting to have some dire feelings about this season, but I think most agree that these signings are a good step. Granted they're not proven PL players, but I think they are positive moves. If we bring in a couple more, especially a CB, I think there will be good cause for optimism.

Apparently Mitrovic waiting to see what Porto bid... http://metro.co.uk/2015/07/11/newcastle-transfer-deal-for-aleksandar-mitrovic-in-balance-as-players-father-says-his-son-is-waiting-for-another-club-to-submit-bid-5290612/

That video, he's thinking "hell man, can they get any more Sports Direct signs up?" Happy about the signing, but still concerned that we haven't addressed our two real needs yet. Hope they sign the kid out of Cameroon to replace Willo and/or Matip. I've heard that Mitrovic may be a problem in the dressing room. Can't see how a diva would work out here.

It worries me that McClaren said something about being patient and he's optimistic for the next 3 windows. He's picked up where Pardew left off. Does that mean sweet FA for a summer signing? I'm not even that excited about the Dutch kid - can we at least shop for the positions where we have gaping holes like CB? My Fish-like optimism was fleeting. Maybe I'll read about signings when I get in to the office in the A.M.

Well you are correct in that Happy Face effectively ended it when he called your bluff. But you side-stepped and continued to troll. He's actually put his money where his mouth is with respect to the Ashley situation and has also offered to help you. Predictably you were all talk though. But what's an internet forum without trolls. Effective ones are more succinct. Brevity is the soul of wit. But I suppose you have been effective as you tend to get a fair share of responses. Though that could be off-season boredom on the part of responders. Keep it up though, curious to see how far you push it before a mod's had enough.

Not only obvious but tedious.

Appears I haven't quite learned my lesson yet.
-
Yeah I absolutely agree. I might be setting myself up for a huge pile of pain and heartache.
-
I agree we need a couple CB's for sure, but signing Austin for the 12 to 15 M it will probably take would show commitment and be a great start. I think Perez will only get better, Cabella I think will come out and shine next season and maybe De Jong will even have a healthy spell.
-
Would love to see this happen. If we sign Austin I may go full Fish optimism.
