probably not as emotional but they’ll be better in other ways. Imagine winning the league. Almost 100 years since we managed that last

i was nervous before kick off then strangely serene from about 10-15 minutes in. It just felt like it was our day, we were in total control throughout. Even after we conceded the late goal I was relaxed - they barely threatened

you can take the boy out of Sunderland…. -
CL qualification will lead to a transformative summer. I don’t anticipate a Chelsea-style spending spree. I think we’ll sign 2-3 PL ready players and perhaps a few more like Lewis Hall, who might take a season or two until they’re ready to start every game. Don’t bet against a top four finish. After winning the cup, CL is the single remaining focus now for the remainder of the season. The only thing that stands in our way is the lack of squad depth in the event of a serious injury crisis. And if we get CL, why would Isak leave? I’m sure they’ll offer him the bumper new deal he has earned. We are a club on an upward trajectory. The only way he goes is if Real, or another club prepared to throw daft money our way, come calling. PSR, in a weird way, might be a good thing for the club if we continue to build the way we have. If we start challenging for top 4 every season while spending conservatively it will be all the more satisfying. I love the fact that Ashley era players such as Schar, Murphy, Dubs, Longstaff and Willock were all in the cup-winning squad. I’d love to know what Mike Ashley makes of it. Obviously we wouldn’t be challenging without the new owners but no one can say we bought success when you look at the money some other clubs have thrown around in recent years. We haven’t even signed a first team player for three windows.

most footballers do these days

if we finish in the CL spots he might stay. we absolutely should be pushing the limits of PSR to keep him - he's that good. if we fail to finish in the top four again you could forgive him for leaving to real madrid or whoever has the cash to stump up

i'm more confident about a champions league finish now that any other point in the season. it's in our hands
-
i think we'll do it now. we weren't playing with freedom since the arsenal semi final as they were all thinking about the cup. they'll attack the rest of the season. i think the chelsea home game is the one where we confirm CL status for next season. i'm targeting that one as my next home game to attend. feels like it could be a massive game

They’re a strange breed

three penalty shouts? I must have been watching a different game
-
made the mistake of putting sky sports on and the first item they discuss in ref's watch: trippier's "handball" though tbf, they're all saying it was no pen
-
moving him to DM was transformative. Unleashed his beast-like qualities and allowed Bruno to play further up the pitch where he can influence the game more. Another Howe masterstroke

what article is that from?

it was never in doubt, was it? i thought if even if we won there would be anxious moments in the game where liverpool would put us under pressure but they didn't lay a glove on us. a lot like our performance at anfield a few games ago. how nice not to be the team that fails to turn up for a final for once! even after bruno's mistake gifted them that goal i never felt overly worried and i loved how we ran the clock down in the corners. it would be good to see more game management like that.

HANG IT IN THE FUCKING LOUVRE

right lads, it's safe to say none of us are getting much work done today, so please continue to use this thread to share all the best newcastle content you can find 👍

what time you booked in for your tat? remember to share pics

nice touch how he shared the trophy lift with trippier and lascelles too. he didn't need to do that. he was entitled to lift it - a class act and also says everything about the harmony in the group. these players play for each other and the manager.

ended up at covent garden last night until about 11pm. the atmosphere was euphoric. strangers hugging each other on the street. drums, megaphones, people climbing on top of phone boxes etc to start chants. more vibey than notting hill carnival. we left about 11pm then went back to a mate's for a greasy pizza and more beers while rewatching the match. perfection

i think it's time we start calling him sir eddie. they've been bottling up this performance. it was no surprise our form dropped off after the arsenal second leg. they knew this was the game that mattered and they bloody did it. a tactical masterclass from howe. i genuinely think we'll go on a run now and get CL now the cup distraction is out of the way and the curse has lifted.

7:45 in for the interview with bruno had me in tears (again) just now. fair play to slott too, dignified in defeat unlike a lot of his peers

Post your pic from that tat shop tomorrow yeah?
