I'm not a Dyer fan because he put the clubs name through the dirt, picutres of him being pissed on newspapers, sex tapes, crashing cars, has a reputation of being a cunt, he is currently on £85k a week, and has done nothing, NOTHING at all to deserve it, last year he told Sir Bobbles were to go when he asked him to play right wing away to Middlesbrough. Since Aston Villa at home last season, I have become Lee Bowyers biggest fan for twatting Dyer. 97430 well it looks to me like you're doing exactly what i said in my last post - letting his poor history with injuries and the tabloids cloud your judgement. there is no doubt in my mind that we need a fit dyer. if he can by some miracle remain fit, he can be one of our most important players. yesterday's performance was a little reminder of what he brings to the team - pace, movement, vision...all the things we've been crying out for since bellamy left and owen got injured. bellamy had a shocking off-field record too - just as bad as dyer's in all honesty but i'd take him back in a flash because of what he could do on the football field.
-
i'm a fan of dyer because, when fit, he improves our team with his pace, movement and selfless running...FACT. anyone that can't see that a fit dyer is a valuable first team player is letting their dislike of his off-field persona and his poor injury record cloud their judgement.
-
i wonder if he could play just behind owen. granted we wouldn't have much of an aerial presence but if we continue to play our footbal on the ground, like we did for the majority of yesterday's game, it shouldn't be a problem.
-
why give him the number 9 shirt when he's always worn number 10?
-
why rule a candidate as strong as hitzfeld out? makes no sense whatsoever. i thought fred said he was going to listen to the fans this time
-
he was class yesterday. not only is he quick but he can whip in a quality ball with pace and he's prepared to track back and do the dirty work. great skill and composure to run at defenders and put dyer through yesterday
-
i thought dyer was the man of the match by a country mile yesterday. good to see him back and fit. hopefully he can stay injury free for the rest of the season. if dyer was fit and able to put performances in like that every week he'd be in the england squad and well worth the reported £80k a week wages. we looked a different side with his pace and movement up front.

in this thread we post pics of what makes us proud to be british. For me the humble pub.....

wouldn't it be nice to let the new manager have a loom at him before we agree to making a £7m loss?
-
celtic seem an odd choice. i'd have prefered to see an all star eleven made up of old team mates and current players against a newcastle eleven. edit - nice to see him giving the proceeds to charity though
-
i think that was deinitely the case under souness but in the last two games under roeder he's looked far more like the old box to box player he was with charlton. he definitely hasn't scored enough goals so far but it'll be interesting to see if that stat changes now he seems to have been given more of a license to bomb up and down the pitch rather than just sit and hold the midfield like he was doing under souness.
-
i can imagine him being like sir bobby if he took over. entertaining and charismatic off the field but not quite good enough to win us that elusive trophy.
-
sounds about right tbh.

it's a fucking great effort to be fair. hats off to all involved. i've sent a few emails in myself.

Racism alive and kicking in England, say Uefa

i doubt the club's losses will affect their salaries and dividends

I agree with your post Dan except why couldn't we have replaced Robson in the summer of 2004 like Liverpool and Chelsea? 88198 i think he'd done enough in the past 3 seasons to deserve to see out the final year of his contract, despite a relatively poor penultimate season. i know i'm in the minority on this one but after finishing 4th, 3rd and 5th i think it was harsh to sack him 4 games into the next season, and would have been equally harsh to let him go in the summer. the season we finished 5th was disappointing but it shows how quickly expectations can change. souness guided us to 14th (i'm positive we would have finished far higher under sbr), then freddie backs him to the tune of £50m. what the fuck is all that about??? 88206 I believe we were on the slide though. Liverpool binned Houlier after he pipped us to 4th and haven't looked back. The timing and manner of Robson's sacking couldn't have been worse though, as has been much discussed. 88212 we'll never know for sure either way now. one thing is clear to all though - shepherd's judgement and timing of both the sbr and souness sackings couldn't have been worse. don't you agree leazesmag?
