to think, we could have ended up with campbell if he hasn't adopted such a sensible approach
-
i don't think we're going to sack him tbh
-
that 6-2 trouncing to man u springs to mind. brought us down to earth with a crash when some still harboured hope of us challenging for the title
-
one word thread titles that don't say anything are annoying
-
he's not really good enough is he? doesn't squeeze his man quick enough, no pace and shocking distribution.
-
indeed. uefa has always been our best chance of silverware. i still fancy us to jelly it though. I fancy us to never win a trophy ever again tbh me too. cursed club, or could the 5th best chairman in the land do anything better? (sorry...couldn't resist it)

the rich get richer and grassroots football suffers as a result. that's fine if you don't mind man u and chelsea dominating everything, but doesn't bode well for the national side, and the rest of the country's professional clubs.

does anyone expect us to win the uefa cup? or genuinely believe that we'll do more than roll over against the first decent team we play? back to the league then. bags to play for on that score

Aye if Carr coming back means ginga boy Pattison gets dropped then, despite the fact that Carr is shit, the team will have been improved. i'd go along with that. but it's a pretty poor reflection on the lack of quality and depth in the squad that we're looking forward to a numpty like carr returning to the side.
-
not that bothered tbh.
-
last night's result has been coming like. we need practically a whole new back four. i'd be looking at two new full backs and a top draw experienced centre half. a new left back has to be the priority. that said, we could also do with a new striker. can't be relying on le sib to lead the line next season.
-
i used to like newcastle-online when it was a merger of the two boards, but you have to admit that the quality of the craic is far better over here. the only criticism is how slow it can be at times
-
i thought he was a right back. never seen much of him at left back or centre back but it's hard to imagine he'll be worse in those positions than the likes of bramble and babbayaro. it also could (hopefully) mean carr is on the way out.

it's not like our academy is producing players of the same quality as giggs, scholes, beckham and neville. a couple of promising defenders is all it is at present - which isn't a bad thing when you look at some of the money that we've spent on flop defenders in the past (marcelion, boumsong etc). but i'm not getting that excited about it. i can't remember when our last youth player that came through the nufc ranks (that we were able to hang on to) that can compare to the man u youngsters of the early 90s. you probably have back to the 80s with the likes of gazza, beardsley and waddle.
-
shame; he would have been a good replacement for carr, and can do a job in midfield too. that said, i think nobby's form has proven that we don't need a new right back as much as we need a new left back. i don't mind carr as a reserve full back.
-
quite. if everyone was fit, he wouldn't make the starting eleven.
-
still think we should have bought a defender with the money ? i still we think we should have bought defenders, yes.
-
hopefully oba will be among the goals again. get his confidence buzzing after sunday and go on another run
-
he has to go, but who's going to pay his wages?
-
he's small and he's round and he's worth a million pound, micky quinn
