having a go at owen over his injuries is out of order. he's suffered a nightmare injury. i think it's unfair to question his commitment. he's always put in 100% for us whenever i've seen him in black and white. the lad is just unlucky.

5 months sounds wildly optimistic for this kind of injury. i think 7-9 months, or even a year at the worst is proably closer to the mark

defoe would be the ideal and obvious replacement. he'd be a great addition. we could do worse than get him in alongside someone like fatty viduka. then play defoe and one other from viduka, shola and luque.

one thing for sure is that we need a couple of strikers sharpish and preferably a couple with pace to burn. at least we've got a manager with a proven track record in the transfer market i'm absolutely gutted for for owen, and us obviously. we're cursed

as much as i disagree with leazesmag's view that closing our borders would reduce the number of potential of terrorists attacks in the uk, i do think that the british muslim community should speak out and condem the fundamentalists much more than they have. there are a lot of impressionable young muslims in britain today that see the mess we've created in iraq and afghanistan and feel disenfranchised. muslim leaders and imams need to make sure that that young BRITISH muslims know that it is wrong to blow yourself and others up or fly a plane into a building.
