  1. i saw the banner last night. couldn't hear much atmosphere coming through on the telly, although that's to be expected given the opposition and attendance
  2. it's winnable but i still don't fancy our chances. i think we'd jelly it if we came up against the likes of seville, leverkusen or benfica. is there a draw for the round after az or is it a predetermined route to the final?
  3. i think bellamy is the more intelligent footballer but martins is a good replacement, not least because he'll score more goals than the welsh gobshite. the acid test will come when he starts a game alongside owen. can those two complement eachother?
  4. he has to have played his last game for us now. he is the gutless foreign mercenary personified.
  5. we're the perfect team to play if you're wigan. want to end a winless streak? get the mags in town. i'm predicting a fulham-esque no-show. 2-0 home win
  6. lap of honour to the sounds of 'we are the champions'
  7. Blatant attempt to put him in the shop window against crap opposition, hopefully prompting interest from spain. i can't see him playing another game for us in the premiership so this is probably our last chance to bump up his price a bit. i'm resigned to us either releasing him or loaning him out a'la viana
  8. anyone get the feeling leazesmag, fat fred and bellamy are involved in a love triangle?
  9. i love these leazemag v the world threads. we haven't had enough of them recently
  10. i'd sooner go for a more experienced full back.
  11. i'd say being a tramp out of that lot
  12. i am surprised like, especially as his club seemed happy for him to stay till may. looks like it's more of a family thing - he's traveling between the uk and sweden every week to see his wife and kids. gutted if you're a manc... you'd much rather larrson in your squad than smudger smith.
  13. best: 12 angry men worst: scary movie
  14. I did. Can you honestly say you enjoyed your plate of boiled oats? i don't mind it actually. a small teaspoon of honey makes it just about edible. the only time i crack and go for fried breakfast these days is on the weekend when i'm nursing a hangover and it's absolutely essential.
  15. i had porridge. high in protein for the slow release of energy and low in fat. perfect breakfast. enjoy the saturated fat sandwich though
  16. it was the worst decision since abraham lincoln said, "i'm tired of just beating around the house, lets go out and take in a show."
  17. We'd have unquestionably been better off. But the best option was always to move Bobby on at the end of the season previous (like Liverpool did with Houllier) and use the time to bring in a top class coach from who was available, giving them the time and resources to set their team up and get some time with them to start the season following. But of course Fat Fred prefers to keep Bobby on toolong, then having done that dumps him in the shit by telling everyone he has 1 year left, then sacks him 4 games in and then makes the single biggest fuck up any chairman has managed and employs Souness...and the rest is history! i would have let him see out his contract meself. would have been tough on the auld boy to sack him after finishing 5th.
  18. Put it another way ... given the choice, would you rather that Keegan had not left or that Robson had not been sacked? robson should never have been sacked He should have made way for a planned replacement. Sadly that never happened. i wonder where we would be today if that whole thing had been handled differently. ie robson not being sacked 4 games into a new season and instead being allowed to see out his contract then retire graciously before moving upstairs to make way for a new, younger manager. we could have spent robson's final season sounding out his successor instead of finding ourselves having to recruit souness and then roeder.
