  1. And you call Viduka a lazy fat ozzie You truly have a fucked up valuation of a player worth to a team don't you Dan? when dyer is fit he is an asset to the team. i don't think his ability comes into his question; it's his injury history that lets him down. viduka seems to me the kind of player that only turns up when he fancies it. hope i'm wrong like because he's got loads of talent when he does turn up. plus he's as fat as all offside.
  2. don't sell. we'll miss his pace and ability to run with the ball if he goes. he's worth keeping even if he only plays half the games in a season
  3. i'm guessing owen might see out his contract as captain, then if we haven't progressed under sam he'll probably fuck off to a bigger club on a freebie
  4. i agree but i thought the same about reading last year
  5. he's not really anything tbh is he? Has he been tried as defensive midfielder? Or in the Falklands war? next viana?
  6. six? Oba Owen Shola Luque Viduka Carroll luque? reckon he'll get many games this season as a striker like?
  7. good news in that we don't have to sign more strikers with owen staying. not that we couldn't find room for better than we have already, but it means we can focus on improving the defence and midfield as a priority.
  8. hopefully carr won't occupy the number 2 shirt for too much longer either
  9. weird that nobby has lost his number 4 shirt. i would have thought butt would have fancied that one but why was it up for grabs in the first place i wonder?
  10. With the exception of strikers I agree. Sam and the new regieme are doing the right things so far but as things currently stand we couldn't really field a stong first eleven for the first game let alone look like having a strong squad for the whole season. Plenty of time left yet like and I think things will move very quickly from now on. Wasn't the 18th of July mentioned as a date when MA's control would be absolute or something like that? just as long as they don't leave it all until the final day of the window a'la shepherd. it would be nice if the majority of the new signings get a proper pre-season before the real thing kicks off for once.
  11. i'm not going to be optimistic until we sign some genuine talent. we need another two defenders minimum but we're lacking in depth in all areas.
  12. shame if it's true. i reckon he could have done a job for us
  13. the fact that big sam keeps banging on about martins' release clause suggests to me he's trying to tout him in the shop window
  14. if those three get over 50 goals between them we should be challenging for a top 4 spot.
  15. you don't ask for much do you?
  16. letting the zog go would be big sam's first mistake
  17. he does lackpace and his crossing is wayward. i wonder if his best position eventually could be centre midfield or just off a front man in the beardsley role.
  18. i wouldn't bet against owen getting it now he's come out and said he wants to stay. he's guaranteed to start when fit so it would make sense. i'd give to nobby if sam sees him as a first team regular. given is the obvious contender, but i'm not a fan of goalies as captain. it has come to soon for taylor imo
  19. shame blaydon doesn't post anymoer tbh. you'd be guaranteed a 10 page thread
  20. good news that we're signing up our young talent or will he ever step up to the level we need and hold down a first team place week in week out? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ted/6897364.stm Newcastle's James Milner has signed a new four-year deal with the club. The 21-year-old told the club's website: "I'm delighted to have signed a new contract. "Newcastle United is a great football club and hopefully I can be here for a few more years yet and help the team be a success. "It is an exciting time at the club and I am very happy to be a part of it," added the England Under 21 international winger. Milner had enjoyed a break after playing for England in the Under 21 Championship in Holland this summer. But he returned to training with his Newcastle colleagues on Friday.
  21. we'll do well to compete with arsenal let alone leapfrog them
