  1. weird appointment for sure. i would have thought someone like paul jewell would have been option for bolton. i can see megson taking them down.
  2. to be fair, all three of sam's new centre backs look far better than taylor
  3. it's belter. the only problem is the missus won't let us put it above the fireplace. she wants a mirror there instead so it's on its stand at the moment. what the fuck is that all about? she reckons the fireplace is the focal point of the living room but deep down if we're all honest, we know it's the telly really.
  4. agree though another one who ideally wouldn't be starting week in week out, unless he improves futher
  5. One of the best moments in the game's tv coverage! that's quality. matey boy next to ashley doesn't look too happy
  6. i agree he's worth keeping. he's a frustrating player though. i think he's an ideal striker to have coming off the bench because he can change a game but you know he'll score a 30 yard screamer one game and then miss a tap in the next.
  7. are the level 7 lads the toon ultras? how they getting on now? is that their nassive flag i keep seeing getting passed around before kick off?
  8. i thought it was class peronally. scorsesee's best effort since goodfellas imo
  9. Spurs reminded me of us under Roeder
  10. wtf is going on in this thread? i've got my own house in dulwich, a missus and a golf gti. do i win?
  11. Magness is hard to define. I give our lads a 7 to start off with, although I haven't given Barton anything yet since he hasn't played. Do you think he deserves less? i have no idea what magness is, or why it's important
  12. He knows full well what the media are like which is why he never comments until pushed to it by the Sun and stupid cunts like the yank on here. I can't believe he even gets stick for this article, absolutely fucking stupid. Go team! ...knob. Were you trying to prove you weren't a complete dickhead with that post? Touchdown! Seriously though, piss off. As usual you're looking for a confrontation. Go sit in the corner until you cool off. i don't get your sig. why does owen have 3 and pattison 7?
  13. berbatov and owen would be some front two like.
  14. Glad I wasn't the only one subjected to that, absolute tosh. the original is a classic. What's it all about? alfie

  16. fortress. absolute shocker of an 80s sci-fi with christopher lambert. so bad it's good.
  17. aye. we should have signed him instead of smith. he's better up front and unlike smith he can actually play in midfield.
  18. Who's judging him in this thread? Ooh, get you! Mr. Defensive I take it that no one is then. i am. he did well to sort out the defence because that was the priority but it was a good window, not a great one, because he didn't find adequate replacements for dyer or solano. smith is NOT a replacement for either player. i think he should be used solely as a striker and we should bring in two creative midfielders during the next window. You rate Emre, don't you? How often has he played under Allardyce? What about Barton? I take your points but I still maintain it's too early to judge and by recent standards it was a fantastic transfer window. Perhaps that isn't saying much. i think emre has potential to be a good creative player for us if he gets over his injury problems and puts in a run of games but he doesn't give us an option on the right side like solano or dyer. those players weren't replaced in that respect. we've only milner who can offer much on the right now, unless you were to play duff on the right (another sicknote) agree that the transfer window was one of the best in recent times - it was just a couple of signings short from being close to perfect. defensively we're looking better than we have in years but our midfield is unbalanced. too many battlers and not enough "door openers".
  19. and yet still better in that position than the likes of carr, ramage, huntingdon and all the other knackers who played there for us last season.

  21. Fucking hell the short term memory we seem to suffer from. The problem with dyer and solano is one had the pace and the other had the vision and they were both fighting for the same position! hardly. dyer's prefered position is central midfield or up front and nobby played most of last season at right back. anyway, it's irrelevant. my point is that two attacking players that could make things happen haven't been placed.
  22. next summer isn't going to be much craic but at least it saves us from the inevitable humilation under maclaren at the finals. gives us a chance to get in a proper manager and build for the world cup.
  23. Considering both Dyer and Solano wanted to leave, and not many clubs wanted them, I don't see Allardyce had much choice. Using your preferred method of selling before buying makes it even harder. And I seem to remember Dyer even saying he was up for working with Allardyce when he arrived. you have to look at the players he replaced them with though. i'm glad he sorted the defence but dyer and solano haven't really been replaced in terms of what they brought to the team. maybe barton will go some way to improving our creativity but we're still short on pace and vision in midfield now those two have gone.
