  1. anelka's had more clubs than tiger woods
  2. you can't really blame mclaren for taking the job, or holding out for the compensation. who in their right mind would resign when they could pick up £2.5m for waiting 24 hours and suffering the inevitable? the fa truly are a bunch of old fuckwits though. it's just like when we appointed souness. it was SO obvious that mcclaren was never going to be the man for the job. i've got to say though not even i thought he'd fuck up in quite so spectacular style. he has to go down as one of the worst english managers ever when you consider he blew the lifeline that israel undeservedly gave us.
  3. so by typing in lower case i'm disrespecting you? good grief.
  4. never going to happen, but my dream appointment would be wenger. imagine if england played like arsenal? he doesn't rate english players though (quite rightly) and would never take the job. so more realistically, i'd try for mourinho. he'd get the best out of those players. it wouldn't be pretty but fuck me, it's hardly been total football under sven and second choice steve - i'm pretty sure we would have qualified under jose. just please, christ, please....no more english managers. there aren't any good ones out there so don't even go there barwick. you stupid fat bearded knob jockey. good grief.
  5. who cares? i'd rather see newcastle win a throw in than england qualify for the euros
  6. my seven a side lost 2-1 last night to a very dodgy decision by the ref if it's any consolation
  7. I suspect you're right. Still think he could be a pretty useful player for us right now, though, what with us short on a bit of midfield invention. i hope so, but he looked a spent force for us before he picked up a serious injury. if he's lost his pace, i don't see him being that much of an asset - in fact i'd probably play n'zogbia ahead of him unless he regains his chelsea form. hope i'm wrong like obviously
  8. i'm willing to bet that he'll never be the same player for us that he was for blackburn and chelsea.
  9. my advice is for you both to grow up and get over it. life's too short to be spent bickering. if you love her (and i'm assuming you do if you were planning on buying a house together) you might just have to bite your tounge and bury the hatchet. i've been with my missus for over ten years, largely i think because we never let rows linger on too long. we shout and scream at each other liek every couple but it's always forgotten the next day. i'd say knowing how to make up is the cornerstone of any successful relationship (along with sexual compatibility). just call me dear deadrie yeah?
  10. So predictable that Craig would be pro Liverpool Where's Renton when you need him? that's a point. where is renton?
  11. I've been more impressed with Viduka personally. I'd play him and Martins at the minute but I'm not quite sure how you can say Martins has been the best by a country mile. He hasn't played enough or been that impressive when he has. i disagree alex and i'll tell you why. i'd say martins has been the pick of the bunch by a long shot. he's looked lively whenever i've seen him play and he's our top scorer despite being overlooked for owen for most games recently. viduka has been injured for most of the season so far (no surprises there) and when he has been fit, he hasn't always looked that up for it (again, no surprises) shola has hardly played and when he has he's been mostly gash (no surprises there either) the less said about smith the better finally, owen has been picked ahead of martins despite not performing at all for us this season. when they're both fit and on song i think owen is better than martins and should start ahead of him but on this season's evidence i think martins should be starting every game. owen has been very poor to be fair.
  12. No it's not. Newcastle has a capacity of 36,500 and that was the attendance every week. Spurs can't fill theirs, you would think a team new to Europe would be able to fill their ground for that too, but no 22,000 against top Spanish opposition the other week, as I've said nothing club, shit fans, supported by a few southerners and a few Irish Robbie Keane arselickers.
  13. so predictable that stevie would be all over this thread
  14. did we really only have one scout under roeder? that defies belief if true. i didn't think even freddie shepherd could be so inept as to not to have some kind of scouting network in place.
  15. i'm sorry like but we don't need to be hearing these kind of excuses. why should we be years behind the big boys when it comes to scouting potential transfer targets?
  16. he should be able to get a bigger club than the blue noses
  17. The book's better (It is btw. I do like the fillum too though). Watched 'A Room for Romeo Brass' last night and I have to say I absolutely loved it. Heard a lot about Shane Meadows' films without having seen one and I'll be checking them all out after this. It's one of those dark, gritty British films that has a good mix of (black) humour and poignant nostalgia which makes you sad and want to laugh at the same time. More than a little bit of Mike Leigh about it too. Which is no bad thing. if you liked that, check out dead man's shoes
  18. i think it's funny that you care.
  19. i think the pianist is the best film about the holocaust to date
  20. Are you off the meds? The ending is perfect. One of the best films ever made tbh. i dunno. i loved the film. it was beautifully paced and creepy in a way modern horror films aren't - mia farrow just seemed to a little too accepting of the endgame to me. i thought she'd put up a little more resistance to assuming her role as mother of satan tbh.
  21. i'd say underachieving given the standard of the team we've played so far (ie none of the 'big 4')
  22. i can't be arsed to use that bbc predict thing but i'd say somewhere between mid-lower table obscurity.
