  1. why don't you Dave ? This is my only login on here. Well, why don't you log in as Dave as well, it is allowed like. It's not as if you've got to put your hand up and ask or owt. leazesmag. how the hell are you?
  2. from the kings road to blyth. must have been a bit of a culture shock
  3. not exactly a vote of confidence from the dotcom boys, and they tend to capture the mood pretty well
  4. at least he's good for something
  5. Thought this was going to be about Duff. who?
  6. i was one of the few on this board that backed robson when shepherd was making a fool of himself with the bambi comments. we'd finished 5th, which was disappointing compared with previous seasons but it was still a relative success. you just have to look where we are now to see that. imagine being so pissed off that we booed the lap of honour because we just missed out on the 4th champions league spot. we'll do well to finish in the top half this year...
  7. if this board is any true relection of general mood among our support i'd say those that wanted robson to stay were in the minority.
  8. bollocks. bobby could and should have been allowed to continue the very good job he did for us. so we finished 5th instead of 4th and had a nightmare in the champions league, but the man turned us from midtable nobodies into a fucking good team. we can only dream of sacking a manager after finishing 5th now. shepherd sacking him, especially in the manner that he did, was a disgrace after the way robson tunred us around. and we've paid the price for his fuck up the last few years. robson didn't deserve to go out the way he did. he was a victim of his own success. he raised expectation levels and paid the price. no way he should have been sacked though.
  9. agree. we never should have sacked robson. that's when the rot started.
  10. i can't see anything but a convincing home win after saturday's no-show
  11. we need top be patient. given time, i think sam will turn is into an unnattrative but effective outfit that can challenge the top 6, which is more than we've been able to do since we sacked sbr. whether the fans and the management will give him the time to do that is another matter. i think we should, largely because i don't think we we could attract a better quality manager than sam. if the likes of mourinho or lippi fancied the job, it would be another matter.
  12. wenger or mourinho. but realistically we're not going to get anyone of that calibre so we may as well give big sam some time. he's about the level of manager we can best hope to attract at the moment.
  13. ...but he's shit in midfield, the position sam has played him at all season. i agree that he's an option up front, but i'd still rank him as 4th choice at best.
  14. big sam not wanting to admit he wasted £6m? He starts ahead of Barton and club captain Geremi in midfield though so it's not like Allardyce won't drop players he's signed. Smith starts every game though. this is what i don't understand about big sam so far. smith has consistently been our worst player this season and yet he is never dropped. i don't get it and i totally understand the crowd's reaction to the manager's decision to sub emre and n'zogbia ahead of smith and for him being chosen as sponsor's motm. i don't get what everyone rates about him. he's absolutely terrible. has contributed nowt this season.
  15. Hard to disagree with Anal this time. agree. for once he's actually written a half decent piece
  16. big sam not wanting to admit he wasted £6m?
  17. agreed. we're cying out for an attacking player that can make things happen in the final third. what we could do for a class player like elano. someone in the beardsley mould playing in the hole. we haven't had a player like that for years.
  18. undecided. he needs more time but hasn't impressed so far despite signing some decent looking players. doesn't seem to know how to set out the players at his disposal at the moment.
  19. if we keep losing, especially at home, and the fans completely turn on allardyce, i can see ashley wielding the axe. i think sam should be given more time but he has to get the players at least looking up for the fight. we were completely devoid of bottle yesterday. it was heads down and one way traffic for 90 minutes against a below par liverpool. could have been a cricket score tbh. not good enough at home and sam will know it. surely he has to drop smith, or at least play him up front instead of midfield where he continues to contribute nothing
