i thought ashton looked a canny player but he seems to have stalled a bit at west ham. i'd rather we went for a more mobile front man now

i wouldn't want to rely on viduka as our main target man next season. he's a good option to have in the squad but i think we need a younger, thinner and more athletic front man to partner owen and martins next season. someone in the drogba mould who can lead the line on his own when required to.

funny how far he's fallen in such a short space of time. at 31 you'd think he could still find a decent club in europe. frustrating as he was, i used to love watching him on his day. was he as good for us as we remember?

why do sky keep on employing souness as a pundit? he has zero credibility given his recent managerial efforts. him and strachan were embarrasing last night bickering over the pros and cons of zonal marking

i can't see why he'd join us as we're a sideways step. unless he fancies a massive pay day. i can see us having more joy going for lennon or wright-philips. i do think we need a right winger though

he's exactly the sort of no nonsense centre half we need. pacey and knows the premiership inside out. he's the sort of defender taylor should be but isn't. imagine him and faye at the back....a couple of big brutes that would scare the crap out of most forwards.

i enjoyed roger dodger. that seemed to pass unnoticed on release. naked is a forgotten classic too - good call alex. ewen bremner's character is different class but it's difficult to have much sympathy with the main character johnny - a brilliant turn from david thewlis

i would prefer n'zogbia playing as the left sided central midfielder in keegan's new 4-3-3 formation than barton

i think n'zogbia should start ahead of barton or geremi in the current formation but keegan is probably right not to change things while we're winning. he should definitely be given a new contract....one of the few players we've got with pace and the ability to run at defenders

ashley needs to do splash some of his cash if we're going to do anything next season, but what i'd really like to see is for us to secure as many of our transfer targets as early on in the summer as possible so keegan has enough time to bed them in and decide on what system to use next season. our season is over and i'd like to think keegan has already given mort a list of who he wants in and who we can let go. that's something the last board was terrible at. it requires some "planning" and we may end up paying slightly more than you might at the end of the window, but that's a risk worth taking if you manage to get the players you really want in and you don't end up panic buying whoever is available in the last week of the window.

we're safe now for sure. it was looking sticky for a while but i can't see anything but a win against reading now. it just goes to show how much team moral and confidence can affect results. we might even catch spurs now. i think kk is being a tad optimistic if he thinks we can catch west ham though

it's all about what happens from now on with ashley. he's got his man in now he needs to back him. i'll reserve judgement until the end of the summer window
