he may well end up as our 5th choice striker now that we've got smith.

what price a future coaching staff of speed and lee with shearer as manager? and no doubt terry mac still on the payroll in some capacity

Have you seen me disagreeing with that point though? well you did imply that we'd be better off if we shifted him in january
-
you're having a laugh there mate. i don't think i can take your posts seriously anymore if you'd honestly have le sib ahead of owen

He scores the winner against Wigan then gets another against Everton WTF do you want him to do? He is employed to score goals, which he is doing. He wants to play for the club and he wants to play for his country, he is passionate about England, so am I. I want England to do well and wish all the players had his attitude towards the national side. Anyone who thinks we would be a better team without Owen knows nowt about football and those who think Oba is a better option just look at how many chances he misses I want him to touch the ball more than 14 times in 61 minutes against Derby, and don't give me "he didn't get the service", he didn't look interested, he's a dick, who thinks about England and himself only, and I wouldn't be surprised if he holds back on purpose for us in the future before England games. Hopefully, that won't be an issue thjough after January. I reckon you are a bit of a knob What some southern cunt who should support Luton or Bournemouth or whoever thinks is completely inconsequential to me mate. I've give far more reasons than the Derby game, that is almost coincidental, I am one of a number of people who will celebrate when we have the £110,000 a week disgrace that he is off our books. get a grip with the personal digs stevie. you're starting to sound just silly now. "I THINK YOU'RE A KNOB" and I'm not allowed to say what I think? Oh dear. What I find silly is why you didn't say anything about his comment, you might even agree with him. i actually didn't catch it first time i read the thread so fair play, it was a retailiation on your part rather than an unprovoked dig. the personal attacks just seem to be a recurring theme in your posts. but for the record, i do agree with him when he says:

This is just over the top now. Christ, man. I thought you had some sense. Have some pride in your team. What about Shearer? Were we not good enough for him? Owen means nothing to NUFC - nothing! - and if we lose him we'll lose nothing. What has he done in black and white? Rename this thread to the Owen wankfest thread tbh. For a yank you narf talk sense.

That's one of the main differences. You could remove still more of Owen's pace (although he's not really that slow) and he'd still be a good Premiership striker. But if you removed Martins pace I'm not sure he'd be playing league football at all (ok that may be a little harsh, but his pace makes up for a LOT in his game). I don't think it is too harsh. You know what Martins reminds me of? You know on The Match when Martin Offiah was playing up front for the celebs? He looked like a sportsman, he was quick, and you wouldn't have known he wasn't a footballer until he took possession of the ball (when I say took possession, I mean when it bounced off him). Martins has a better shot on him though, I'll give him that. harsh but funny

owen is a world class player playing in a team, that if we're all honest, isn't good enough for him.

OBVIOUS?? How is it If England didnt have a game this week no-one would be saying anything He has recovered from his OP. He pushed to be fit for the Everton game He scored Now he will play for England which will help get him sharpness back Whats the problem? If people keep berating him he will leave, we need him more than he neds us. Just heard the talksport interview and he sounds pissed off what was he saying like? Said he pushed himself hard to get fit for the Everton game and expected a pat on the back to say well done instead he got "you only got fit for the England game" "you cant please everyone". he said. he also said NUFC comes first, beats me why people are giving him stick so it sounds like he's pissed off with the reaction of newcastle fans? great. let's hound out our best player

27? he's coming into his prime man! we should be loving the fact that we've got england's best striker for at least another two seasons, hoping that he extends his contract and remains injury free
-
duff? assuming he ever regains his chelsea form has got a bit of pace about him. i agree though that we're short in the pace department. a more mobile viduka would have been the perfect partner for owen.

I get them from my local Londis. Best crisp ever. absolutely. although that could be an entirely new thread in itself if it hasn't been done already

the fat ozzie and the parasite for me

i'm struggling to think why you'd despise a player who has only ever given his best when fit, maintaining a strike rate of 1 goal in every 2 games he's played for us. dispair at his injury record by all means, but you're obviously something of an oddball if you despise owen's attitude which has been nothing less than 100% professional since he's been at newcastle. and bent and defoe aren't in the same league as a fit michael owen.
-
he's probably our best player and i'm happy that he plays for us because he's always looked committed on the pitch when fit and his goal record in a toon shirt stands up. sadly his injury record doesn't. i doubt he'd turn down an offer from liverpool or man u if they came calling, but then not many of our other players would either. the problem isn't his commitment (which tbh is probably no different to the rest of our squad) - it's his lack of appearences in two seasons at the club. and you have to wonder whether offering him a new contract is the best idea given his wages/appearences ratio, whether he'll even want to extend and whether any big clubs will fancy taking a punt on him with his injury record. he's still a class player when fit.

some shocking teams in the group stages. it's hard to be jealous of other teams competing in the uefa cup at this stage - the thursday and sunday cycle of games, the micky mouse opponents. it's when you hit the next knock out stage that it becomes interestying again. they should scrap the group stage tbh.

Thats knack all compared with the Pro CS players, £120k slaray and flights, hotles etc paid!! i'm clearly in the wrong business
