Didn't miss many Turkey games. he was crocked at the euros wasn't he? Yes he was Dan. My statement is still accurate however. so you're saying he made more of an effort to get fit for internationals than for the club that pays his wages? could the same criticism be levelled at micky owen?

Do you truly believe that your squad is strong enough to mount a sustained challenge to the premiership this season? You've got a good team, no doubt, but Hyppia is too old, Carragher and Agger are quality, but they're not in the same class as the pairing of Ferdinand and Vidic imo I reckon you'll be the buffer between the teams scrapping for the title and the teams scrapping for the last CL spot. I reckon you're wrong ... again. Based on.... what? Other than blind faith? Divine right. Liverpool's problem is they are a top 4 side, but they aren't a top 2 or maybe even 3 side (depending on which Arsenal turn up this season), never mind a Premiership winning side. that's been true for pretty much every season since the late 90s other than one ifrc under houliier when they finished 2nd.

shame he was always injured. he was a useful player on his day
-
he's looked gash to me - worse than dawson and ferdinand, who most people have turned their noses up at
-
i hope you're right because if that's the case, the chances are that we'll have done alreet.
-
i doubt he'll see out the contract. i reckon he'll either get sacked or he'll walk due to lack of funds being made available.
-
because he's english

i kind of agree but is that because he is a spurs castoff? i'd sooner we'd have been in for modric or swp but most on this board fancied him when he was for sale at fulham. i think we just have to accept that we can't compete with spurs and the top four in the transfer market at the moment as our previous pulling power (ie - the fact that we were prepared to offer massive wages) has gone

my memories fucked. too much cainage over the years You sure it's not Pro-Evo you're thinking of? nah, wild woodbines, although the two do go hand in hand. quite fancy one now actually

Charlie is on another planet compared to Meewner, especially in the middle imo. Don't know what that's based on because he's never actually played that well in the middle. I prefer N'Zogbia but he's so overrated in some quarters it's untrue. i thought he did alright in the middle when we were a midfield 3 - iirc in the tail end of roeder's first season in charge Probably drink more than I should before games these days but I thought he played on the left of a four mostly in the spell you're on about. maybe it wasn't then...i can't remember. i sure there was one point when he played well in a midfield 3 - was it under souness maybe? I can think of one match - Derby away I think it was. We were dire, he did ok. That was about 4 years ago though. i'm sure he had a run in the side in a 3 man midfield at a tail end of a recent season....just not sure which one

good player. much better than geremi, barton, smith et al
-
Probably already have done tbf. who? guthrie or the argie bargie? Wouldn't be surprised if the latter were better than N'Zogbia. Mainly of the basis N'Zogbia has done nothing for about 2 years rather than anything I know about the new bloke. Although I'm guessing someone with 20 caps (or whatever it is) for Argentina is better out wide than a player who can't even get a game in his favoured position for the French U21 team. i hope you're right. i still wouldn't get rid of n'zognia mind. he was inconsinstent last year but he was often starting at full back or coming off the bench. he's a player with genuine pace and the ability to skin a defender - a rare commodity in our squad - and on that basis i'd do all we can to keep him.

he's always lacked the pace to scare the best defenders when he plays out wide. inside could be his best bet. ifrc, that's where he started out at leeds where he first impressed. might be our only option given the number of players in that position who've turned us down. although i'm still not massively charmed by the prospect of a central midfield pool of butt, milner, smith, barton, guthrie and geremi for the season ahead

i hope he stays. i don't see us bringing in anyone better than him so far tbf

fucking hell.

frings can only get better?

no country for old men - superb jumper - mindless rubbish but good fun 12 angry men - a classic. they don't make em like that anymore -
obviously there's still a fair chunk of the transfer window still to go but as things stand, i don't expect us to better last season's finish. unless danny guthrie comes into his own

Not like you to put a negative spin on it. not like you to bite
