  1. a strange move for bentley. he said he wanted to play in the champions league but he isn't going to get that at spurs - uefa cup/intertot football at best tbh. more of a sideways step than a move forward - i guess he just wanted to move back to london, which is understandable - blackburn is a right shithole. He said his eventual aim was to play in the champions league. No reason why he can't do that at Spurs. Would you want to work for Paul Ince? do me a favour. when was the last time spurs played in the champions league? oh yeah, that's right - never. no one is going to break into the top 4 in the near future, not least spurs. you've got about as much chance as we do - which is exactly 0.00000001%.

  3. Haven't the club ALWAYS said they'd back Keegan in the players he wanted to buy? I've not believed a word to the contrary in any rag either way. there have been too many stories about wage restructuring and cost cutting for there not to be some truth in it, don't you think? no smoke without fire and all that. i'd like to think we've got £50m to blow on keegan's top targets and i'll be pleasantly surprised if that turns out to be the case come the end of the window
  4. tbf, if we're shelling out £8m on defender, we might have more to spend than has been let on. perhaps we have money but keegan will only sanction it being spent on the right players and we're biding our time before making a swoop for several first choice targets. ....i fucking hope so anyway
  5. fuck me, remind me not to look you up next time i'm out in town It's not something I've ever been involved with. Well, not for a long time anyway and even then it wasn't anything I instigated. I'm just being realistic. I said it was bad - he done time and rightly so. It's something a lot of people do though and get away with every Saturday night in every town. I suspect you realised what I was saying and chose to ignore it anyway though. i think there's a difference between a fair fight between two piss heads and some psychopath lashing out at some random kid (seemingly unprovoked) and then continuing to lace him while he's on the deck. one is fair game, the other is just savage. Fair fight? What's this, 1950? Here man. I fucking hate fighting pissheads regardless. Some little scally setting his lip up to Barton got a chinning, which he was asking for. Barton shouldn't have done what he did. He was an idiot who got what he deserved. Pardon me if my heart isn't bleeding for the lad though. i lol'd at that. tbh, i think i'd by trying to find excuses for barton if: 1) he was a good player or 2) this was an isolated incident. everyone deserves a second chance but we're talking about a scouse charv that has stubbed a cigar out one teammates' eyeballs and beaten up another so bad that was left him with a damaged eye.

  8. Do you not think he might have already given that a go? well he needs to keep trying, obviously. do you reckon working for nufc going to be good therapy for him like? this move is crazy and is destined to end in tears if it does happen - look at how is stint in charge of kettering ended. Aye, I think it's perfect therapy for him. A management role is a completely different kettle of fish and one he isn't suited to. But a bit of proper coaching is different. i'd put my mortgage on it ending in tears.

  10. have you seen the videos of his assault on that lad? absolutely savage. the kid goes straight down but barton carries on lacing him while he's on the deck - nice. also, some lass he's with starts kicking the kid while he's down too. why do we always end up with players like this? even if barton was any good, you still wouldn't want him at the club after seeing thaat footage - bowyer mark II tbh
  11. i personally think gazza needs to get a good therapist and to somehow give up the drink. working for nufc, if anything, will probably only result in him hitting the bottle even harder. he'll be centre of attention at the club again and the temptation for post-training bevvies in town will probably be too hard for him to resist.
  12. we're talking about an alcoholic that's just been sectioned. howay man. i have a lot of sympathy for him but giving him a job won't make his problems go away and there's no way he's qualified to get a job for a premier league club as a coach. So hows that jobs for the boys again? he used to play for us. he isn't qualified to the do the job it's an act of charity because of his connections with the club ...nedd i go on?

  14. jesus wept. if that isn't jobs for the boys i don't know what is.
  15. On the wind-up again? i never was tbh. i know duff's been shite but when you look at the squad it's so short on quality that we can't afford to let him go just on the off chance that he starts playing like he used to again. Depends, if we get Warnock in we'll be replacing a shit player with a good one. Duff'll never regain the form he once had btw. you're probably right but i think he's one that might be worth gambling on in case he does. i'd certainly risk him regaining his old form over keeping the likes of smith and barton, who never had any decent form to speak of in the first place. Eh? Barton was an excellent player for City and showed more form at the end of last season than Duff has in his entire time here. If we're looking to get rid of one of them it should be Duff. Couldn't agree more really. Duff looks totally shot to me. At the very least Barton is still capable of producing some good performances whereas I really don't think Duff is at this level any more. barton's been total rubbish since he joined us imo. i never really rated him at man city either. duff's been total rubbish since he's been with us too but at least he used to be a good player. clutching at straws a bit i know but this transfer window has been pretty bleak so far

  17. agree and we might, but we haven't exactly bought in a clutch of top class players with our new wage structure so far, have we? my fear is that if we do get rid of duff, we'll lighten the wage bill but might only be able to afford another guthrie or two. and is warnock even that good? i'd sooner we went for finnan, who we've been linked with today. i'm surprised liverpool want to gwt rid. i've always rated him but is suppose he isn't spanish so maybe his face doesn't fit.

  19. Who was the last person you said that about? Dyer wasn't it? If Warnock wants to come then I'm willing to chip in 5 quid to help pay Duff's train fare out of toon. if we get shot of duff our midfield options will be geremi, smith, barton, guthrie, n'zogbia, milner and this new argie bloke. duff's been crap for us but if he was to recapture his chelsea/blackburn form he'd be the first midfielder on the teamsheet every week ahead of that bunch of cloggers. big if like but worth a punt on another season given we don't look like attracting many better midfielders at present But he hasn't found that form, has he and an educated guess is he won't ever again. The club has to get rid of the hangers on'ers and ok Warnock is unlikely to be as good as Duff was at his prime but if he wants to come here and does the job then make it happen. At the moment we need Warren Bartons not Babayaros. if we were replacing duff with a better player then i would agree but i'd be worried to see any more of our players with the potential to create goals leave before we bring better players in, unless you're talking alan smith, who should be sold with immediate effect

  21. i know duff's been shite and another massive letdown but he's one of the few players in our squad that i would be prepared to give another season to to see if he can recapture his old form under keegan. last chance saloon like but he's worth the gamble imo (where the likes of smith, barton and geremi clearly aren't) because he has at least shown good ability in the past.
  22. a big brusier of an argie bargy at centre half would be ideal
  23. "a good player" "our best central midfielder" how depressing
