barton could easily have been sent off like - for either raising his hands (just as bad as beckham's red card for flicking his leg out at simeone in 98), or for going in with his studs up.

last night was such a crucial result and performance. could be the turning point in our season. great to see a convincing win - when was the last time we had one of those? and now with two wins under our belt, the trip to fulham and the home game against wigan are looking more than winnable! two more wins ahead of chelsea and we'll be looking up the table instead of down for once. i was genuinely worried this season after all the off field shite but reckon we could have turned the corner after last night. and fair play joe fucking kinnear. he was no one's choice but he's got us lookign compact and playing some decent stuff. in fact we've looked in pretty much every game he's been in charge of. great night! only sour note of the night for me was barton - he obviously is the same old twat and hasn't changed at all. he must know refs are out to get him so why raise your hand, even for a silly flick on the nose? and why make a stamp challenge with your studs showing? he puts in a good performance but could have easily been sent off. shame.

fuck that - we've got super jfk
-
great to see him playing well again after all these years. we've missed someone that can hold the ball up a bit and win the odd flick on
-
i'd day that's a given

you never hear anyone say 'brill' these days; shame

fuck me, how thick is martins?

another massive game. if we can knick a win, it will give us vital confidence ahead of two winnable games before the chelsea match (where we may as well not bother turning up tbh). it's so tight at the bottom that we have to be winning the majority of our home games to give ourselves a chance. anyone know if micky owen is ready to start or will he be on the dame judy?

every bastard result has gone against us this weekend. puts the pressure on ahead of tomorrow's match.

howay city. if bolton win this we'll go bottom

Yet we are consistantly second. I reckon there maybe something in it. Seriously? You actually think this has some value? Some scientific merit? Just taking it at face value. Do you believe in your heart and I mean being 110% honest with yourself Tottenham are as passionately supported as Newcastle United? No I believe we are more passionately supported. we certainly dont desert the club at the first sign of trouble neither do we you muppet. we've had one of the best average attendences for years despite the fact that we've been mostly shite for the while period. hardly like it's the first sign of trouble is it

definitely spurs plus two
-
basically, if he starts splashing the cash, everything else will be water unde the bridge. money talks in this game
-
basically, if he hasn't sold up before xmas then we're in for a long hard slog of a season
-
did anyone else lol at the thread title? i couldn't think of a less accurate way of describing our squad and stadium
-
fucking spurs. there'll be a fair bit of gloating in my office today. i'm surrounded by them arsenal did blow it mind. all they had to do was keep the ball in the corners for a couple of minutes
-
i'd sooner we got shot of him
-
don't think owen and martins really hit it off as a partnership tbh and should not be first choice front two. neither of them are going to make it stick up top are they? aside from that i probably agree, although i think nzogbia should probably be in there somewhere. a fit viduka would start too
-
collocini's looked a bit shaky in the air so far to me. not sure i'd have him marking carew. i've quite liked the look of bassong so far - he probably does deserve a run in his prefered position. i agree about taylor too
-
i've always felt shola gets more stick than he deserves. he's never going to be a top class player now but he's half-decent squad backup. you're going to struggle to find someone happy to sit on the bench and fill in when required that's much better than him.
-
it's amazing from the inside but i found the concourses at the nou camp a little dated. could do with a facelift. and they've got nee answer to shearers bar
-
he looks like someone has just shoved a cucumber up his arse

i thought we did well personally. we bossed the first half, playing some nice stuff at times. we were always going to be nervy after they scored but we got the 3 points - that's the main thing at this stage. this season is all about survival and suddenly the next few games don't look to difficult with a win under our belt (except chelsea). two or three wins out of the next five games and we'll be on the road to recovery. howay jfk

i've got lots of good mackem freinds and i don't look upon them as any different to geordies. with regard to the football, i really enjoy the atmosphere at a derby and the banter that comes with it. i alway want us to beat sunderland and finish above them, but i'd rather they were in the top flight with us than not, especially as it's difficult to class the smog game as a derby. i don't take particular pleasure when they're struggling like many others. in fact, i think it's good for the area to have all three teams from the north east in the top flight. as for the town of sunderland itself (and i think this is where most geordies and mackems agree), it's an absolute shithole. a horrible backwater. i feel really sorry for the people who live there and often wonder how such a vibrant city like newcastle can have such a poor relation only just a few miles down the road. i was in sunderland a couple of months back and if anything it's even worse than i remember it being when i was a kid. really sad place
-
all of those, bar chelsea, are winnable. but confidence of the squad will have a massive part to play - that's why it's crucial that we win tonight. in fact, if we don't beat at least west, brom, fulham and wigan out of that lot then i think we're in deep deep shit as we'll do well to get anything against villa.
