Where exactly is the feelgood factor with Redknapp? he is kind of cute and cuddly looking. maybe he can dish out a few hugs?
-
redknapp would be as underwhelming as the last three appointments. when are we going to stop appointing second rate english managers and get a top foreign coach?

SSN - Newcastle to make official approach for Redknapp

redknapp ffs -
didn't redknapp say he had no intention of managing a club north of london?

When you look at the disregard he has for his shareholders, the way the company's chairman suddenly departed and the fact that after 8 months they still haven't been able to find anyone suitable willing to take the job then you have to ask questions about his style and how he runs his businesses. I'm not saying that he's a bad business man but he certainly appears to have his failings and it'll be interesting to see how those failings affect us. he's ruthless like and doesn't care who he pisses off. probably the reason why there was so much gossip about him looking for a quick sale after buying us. but that doesn't look like it's the case - it seems he's in it for the long term which has got to be a good thing. That's better told you i was in the wait and see camp. won't stop me being nervous about the names the bookies have down as favourites

What questions have I dodged then? well, not a question as such but you chose to pick up on my first sentence again rather than accept that that i might actually know a bit about ashley's reputation in the City. unlike craig who clearly knows nothing at all about sports direct's results since flotation and ashley's image among its shareholders.
-
Ashley seems to know what he's doing as a businessman. That rather depends on who you ask. Who should we ask, fellow self-made billionaires? sports direct shareholders and City types in general seem to think he's a bit of a joke tbh I won't even pretend to know what the city thinks of him although I've heard he's a bit of a maverick which probably ruffles a few feathers. As for Sports Direct, the floatation didn't go to plan. Are you seriously suggesting a bloke who is now a billionaire after starting with next to nowt and leaving school at 16 isn't business savvy though? no. you can't argue with his business acumen but he is viewed as a bit of a maverick Thought not. Did you have a point then? Thought not. fucking hell man. i'm sure it used to be fun exchanging banter with you sports direct has lost over two-thirds of its value since it floated and in their last results presser, ashley accused a merril anlyst of being a moron. so my point was that despite his obvious sucess, he's viewed as a bit of a joke in the city....and sd shareholders don't view him in the best light That's irony rather than sarcasm you're angling for one of these aren't you?

Conceeding that Mike Ashley is business savvy wouldn't fit in with Dan's whinging agenda though whinging agenda? fuck off you knacker

I'm pleased Moyes is now being linked because if nothing else it supports my notion the press haven't got a fucking clue who we're after. do you know something they don't? who do you think we're after?

He's right, he's popular and he doesn't smell like fish Except when wearing a blazer will someone turn that bastard light off? i can't see anything You realise that's sarcasm and not irony, right? correct. two gold stars for you.

whether you agree there isn't a great deal to be positive about at present and that things don't actually look that rosey. i'm in the wait and see camp too, trust me. i'm waiting and hoping that the sacking was part of a masterplan to appoint mourinho and the bookies have got it completely wrong. i'd like to reiterate that i'm not negative about things for the sake of it. i'm positive when there is something to be positive about.

You really do believe everything you read don't you Dan. Well I've got a little gem, that no doubt you'll believe. Everyone on toontastic, except fop, want you to shut up and stop moaning. See it's in print so it must be true! Only believes the negative stuff he reads tbf. serious question here alex - is there any positive news to come out of this so far? we've sacked a manager half way into his season and in the middle of a transfer window no less. despite him not impressing in his first 20 odd games, it's still nowhere near enough time to really judge if he's capable. it's not like we're even fighting for our lives - we're in a better points position than this time last year. i'd say the best of news so far is shearer and 'appy 'arry appearing to rule themselves out. but look at who are the bookies are linking us with - i want to be optimistic but where is the positive stuff to believe? i want to read it. As I've already said I'm waiting to see what'll happen but suspect Ashley may have an ace up his sleeve. I'm not being wildly over-optimistic am I? You're being typically negative and it gets a bit boring after a while. Sorry if you don't like that but I'd guess most people on here would agree. i'm waiting to see what happens too. as things stand though, i'm sure you'll agree that things look far from rosey and to all those who are bored with me being negative - i'm not being gloomy for the sake of it. i'm as positive as the next person when there's something to be positive about. as soon as we start being linked with mourinho or lippi instead of mcclaren and hughes i'll change my tune pretty sharpish. my username was supposed to be ironic btw Yes, the OP shows you waiting to see what happened and not just having a big fucking whinge. Fuck off. why don't you try replying to the whole post and not just the first sentence? Because it's the same old drivel?

Q: if you look past his playing career, what has shearer done exactly to show he can do the job? A: fuck all i'm sure he'd be a good number two for an experienced manager looking to groom him into the job but surely it's far too early for him. i think even shearer thinks that - the motd sofa is far too comy a gig to walk away from at this stage and if it his first job, i imagine he'll want to take it when we're in far better shape than we are at present.
