  1. Daftest part is, he can't tackle. the worst bit is that we could actually really do with smith back at this stage just as an option. he'd be an automatic starter up front tbf with fatty viduka and martins both out
  2. apparantly this bloke has found out ashley is going and will be there too
  3. combative midfielder really is a polite way of saying he's a rubbish midfielder. ok, so he can't run, can't dribble and can't pass - what other adjective can we use that doesn't make him sound like a total donkey?
  4. ....if we're lucky 'panic on the streets of london' 'panic on the streets of newcastle'
  5. he'd have no trouble making an easy transition into our back four then
  6. I'm contemplating not listening and not checking the result until tomorrow, so I can get a night's sleep. not a bad idea. whenever i follow the scores on sky news we get humped
  7. city to win convincingly. it's the sunderland game, i'm more worried about - that one is massive. it's the one thing (minus the new signings that i don't see happening) that could give the club and fans a boost.
  8. i'm happy for harper but totally gutted about given. he saves must have won us as many points over the years as shearer's goals. absolute legend. i'm quite sad to see him to go to a club like city and not one of the big 4 too.
  9. demand £10m plus ireland and richards
  10. absolutely gutted about losing shay. he's a legend - best keeper i've ever seen in a newcastle shirt. but i don't blame him for jumping ship
  11. centre half is one of the few positions i think we're reasonably well covered for. midfield, strikers and full backs seem to be a far bigger concern
  12. so...our big three signings of this transfer window so far have been: peter lovenkrands....hmmph shola ameobi signing a new 3 year deal... ahem colin caldwerwood joining as coach.....phfft
  13. all of allardyce's buys have been pretty useless.
  14. he's crap and yet he's our best midfielder so no, we can't afford to sell him. unless we buy at least two superior centre midfielders (not going to happen)
  15. can't see richards wanting out of city - they're a club on the up
  16. if we sign at least 3-4 more players in positions that we need cover, i'll say he's a decent addition addition to the squad. as things stand, i'm humming panic by the smiths in my head
  17. good signing for hull tbf. we must have stepped aside to let him complete his move. i would be surprised if the currect knackers running the club sign a better midfielder for us this transfer window
  18. my love for the wife would fade if she stopped going down
  19. my love of the club hasn't changed but my love of saturday afternoons have...and motd/football first/goals on sunday have become painful.
  20. somehow we need to put a run of wins together before march or we're going down
