If promoted who are we replacing Hughton with?
Dr Gloom replied to Park Life's topic in Newcastle Forum
I'm torn over hughton. You'd have to say he deserves a crack at it if we go up. Surely he will have earned it? Plus ashley is unlikely to get rid because he is cheap and a yes man. Got next Glenn Roeder written all over it if you ask me. Hope he can prove us wrong mind. At least he's a nice bloke -
they were just on skysports news if anyone hasn't seen them.

are the goals online anywhere??

we'll be tapping up the latest wonder kid from san marino next -
No. That was a sky cock up

Some good news, wish i could watch them 4 together. Got the bird's parents coming for a meal in 20 minutes. Following could be tricky tonight. shame smith is injured. swap him in there for nolan and i think you're looking at our strongest midfield

we're a crap footballing side with a decent defence for the championship. it's only a matter of time before someone beats us at home. cardiff could be the side to do it

nufc.com said it was around 500k i can't imagine fat mike splashing that kind of cash on our 3rd chioice striker target

my cov-supporting mate finally got back to me with this: Best is alreet, good Championship player. Certainly improved a lot over the last year or two. Plus a full Irish international, although that is not saying much these days... Could be the new John Aldridge...

First Anal using my stats, on more than one occasion, and now this baald cunt copying of my posts??!?! Someone else mentioned the Mick fuckin who thing a few weeks ago as well. that is one of the poorest pieces of copy i'ver seen in a while, even from a regional newspaper's football correspondent. how did this guy get a job? who told him he could write? he's even worse than anal

so is this best lad is pacey after all is he?

Society in general has got more passive imo. I've been living abroad mostly for the last 7 years, first France and then Germany...I was a bit shocked how passive, unthinking and poncey England has become since I came back. I doubt if you'd even get something like rave culture / acid house occurring now. Or maybe we're just getting old you're obviously not down with da kids alex. we've had nu rave, grime and dubstep all emerge in the past couple of years I think you've misunderstood what I meant. I was talking about a counter-culture like that starting from scratch rather than new style of music emerging into what is already an established 'scene'. i was being cynical. i was lucky enough to catch the tail end of the acid house scene. i don't think the crap the kids are into these days compare. there's definitely nowt like the oldschool outdoor raves happening anymore. i might be wrong but i'm not aware of any illegal rave scene these days and most festivals are large corporate affairs with sponsored tents serving cans of warm fosters for £4 a pop.

it's not just us, it's happening everywhere. the end of terraces definitely had a massive impact on crowd noise across the country. it's difficult to try and get a chant going at a home game when you're surrounded by people who don't join in. away days are always loads more fun because everyone's up for standing up and singing. i agree about the lack of humour and originality with chants in general.

never thought i'd say this but we're starting to look like we could do with barton back. anyone know when the cunt is back from injury?
-
we've got options up front but not a lot of quality, pace or movement. the fact that nolan is top scorer speaks volumes.
-
getting geremi's wages off the bill probably helped on that score

how do you think this window has gone? routledge could prove to be a good buy and a better standard of player than i expected us to attract. but we will need to learn how to get him into the game. he hardly got a touch with butt and smith pulling the strings from centre mid against leicester the other night. williamson looks a solid, if unspectacular, centre half but probably good enough at this level. signing up simpson to a long term deal is a logical move - he's cheap, young and competent enough. fitz hall and best are the kind of no-frills buys i expected. all in all, it's probably a better result than i expected but there's still a real feeling that we've missed a trick. none of the above are proven at a level higher than the championship. some are an unknown quantity even at this level. we were crying out for a pacey front man or a midfielder that can get on the ball and pass. we got neither.

Nailed. it's bloody depressing. still could be worse, we could be crystal palace. the amazing thing is that we're still in with a great shout of going up despite ashley doing his best to fuck us over
