Is Hughton the right man for the big league?

maybe not deliberate but it's worthy of a red card, no doubt

ps, for boozers i would agree that the bodega is a good shout. get down there early if you want a table mind

sachins does a good curry dragon house on stowell street for chinese. francessca's in jesmond is probably your best bet for a pizza, although a little bit out of the way pani's on high bridge street if you fancy a cheap and cheerful italian pannini or pasta cafe 21 if you fancy something a bit more upmarket

exactly. whether hughton is up to it long term remains to be seen but he has earned this chance to manage in the top flight. we finally have a confident team that plays with a good fighting spirit. even though the football has been laboured at times under hughton the unity in the dressing room counts for a lot - why risk that now? let's give hughton a chance to prove us wrong before we chop and change again. ashley has to back him mind. -

He's still a fucking cunt. yeah, but we'd love him if he was our cunt. bit like bellamy

you'd fucking love mourinho if he was your club's coach. best tactician in the game at the moment even if his teams don't always play the nicest football.

enrique definitely. hope he can carry this season's form on in the top flight -
Assuming Steven Taylor leaves in the summer (nailed on if you ask me) say we brought Titus back....do you think it would be a backwards step?....he's been a first choice premier league centre back for 10 years and 5 different manangers, he must have something going for him?..... i'd say re-signing bramble would definitely be a backwards step. i must admit i haven't been an avid wigan-watcher in recent years but i'd be surprised if he'd been able to eradicate the mistakes from his game that made him a liability while he was with us. despite the raw attributes of pace and strength, he didn't have the concentration or brain not to make regular fuck ups that almost always contributed to us conceding goals. i'd rather use williamson, collocini and taylor before buying bramble back. same goes for o'brien to be fair. me saying bramble made o'brien look good wasn't me saying o'brien was a good defender btw alex - you seemed to miss that first time around.

Like most fans slagged Robson when we came 5th you mean? Same thing tbh. not everyone slagged sbr off. i don't remember too many bramble/o'brien apologists You miss the point again tbh. Forget it. what is your point? as far as i can see, it was that bramble had some good attributes and wasn't the total donkey i'm making him out to be. stop if me i'm wrong like

the sbr years were class. i've got massive respect for the man. the way he was sacked was a disgrace. he did have a couple of howlers in the transfer market mind - the main ones for me were bramble and carl cort. both arrived for around 6-7m and we were glad to see the back of both of them. andy o'brien was cheaper than bramble so arguably not as big a flop - didn't arrive with expectations that he'd be anything other than an average centre half so wasn't as big a let down. but to be fair alex, everyone on this board slagged both bramble and o'brien off regularly when they were at the club.

he's got the pace you need at least one of your front man to have in the top flight and seems to have improved the past couple of seasons. my west ham-supporting mate rates him highly. i doubt many top sides in the premier league will be in for him but we're unlikely to attract much better quality than him in our first season back. would be a good fit if we can ditch best

Did he fuck man And in terms of talent I meant he had the attributes - pace, power, strength etc. Obviously I've mentioned what let him down. he had attributes but droppped a bollock every other game because his brain hurt so much. He was better than O'Brien though. Unbelievable to suggest otherwise tbh. they were both garbage to be fair Keep changing your tune there Dan and you might hit the right note eventually. yeah, sorry you're right. both top class defenders. wish we never got rid of them

what happened with jonas last night btw?
-
carlton cole would be a good shout if we swap places with west ham
-
one thing's for sure. nolan/carrol up top will be way too pedestrian for most premier league defences.

did bramble really look talented? he made andy o'brien look a solid centre half to be fair. i think the problem with bramble is that he's thick as two short planks. not only does he not have a football brain, he doesn't have much of a normal brain either. too thick to make basic decisions on the field.
