  1. Yup he had a good one, a few high tackles but he was solid enough
  2. Will be good to see our new boys out together, shame about ben arfa but tbh im glad were not rushing him in. Are peeps watching this on eplsite or is there a better option?
  3. Cheesy use of Vin Scully, quoting a cheesy american commentator isnt really adding anything. Could have at least picked wilde or something. Only time will tell on this one and i hope he does suddenly change, but even the arguments of styles of play dont really ring true as his record follows him whoever he plays for in my opinion. Anyhoo, im psyched for tonights match!!!!!
  4. I think it was a better atmosphere when unseated but I also missed lots of action due to tall peeps and those wankers who used to insist on scarf waving and putting.kids on their bloody shoulders. (I was a teenager at the time so.a short arse.
  5. The only reason I suggest he goes is that we can probably get a good return until other teams realise he's an average of 48% bookings over his ENTIRE career. Im not so sure you can say his booking percentage is due to bad players, he was the same all through his career so far , we got him rather cheap for a reason. lets hope he proves me wrong and his big fans right, for the good of the club. Its not hating, its frustration for me . I used to regard him as one of our best, but now see him as a risk.
  6. No what I'm saying is I'd rather keep worse players who dont have a discipline problem than better ones. Especially if its a shave like Sissoko / Mbwia over Tiote. But to show my cards I actually think Perch has done well the past few games before Tiote's return. He's much better in Tiote's place than he is as a defender. What you suggest would be madness. I can't fathom anyone thinking Tiote isn't a maniac to be honest. But that's football and thats what makes it so good, different people see different things. After this forum debate today I'm actually thinking I didn't realise just how bad he is 50% yellows per game in all competitions is shocking by any standards.
  7. That's a fair point that. My debate is just about his attitude and reliability as a whole, I don't feel comfortable with players that constantly pick up the cards. I fall back to the same point - Perch doesn't the ability that Tiote has so has a little bit of leeway to me. I know from what I've seen that Tiote can be an absolute rock - but its about more than just his playing ability . My personal view is his mentality is just not right.
  8. He does try though, bless him.. I don't get why he doesn't improve, surely the coaches can do something - as he's got the pace and control - he's just an utter numpty when it comes to decisions. Back on to Gouffran though, isn't it great when we get a new signing and he immediately becomes a must play! I honestly cant remember a time since Bobby that we've had so many people walk straight into the first team and impress. I still believe the new players have to adapt, but for Gouffran - more of the same!
  9. If that happened to me I'd grass on him and never leave the club alone till they revoked his season ticket (if he had one).
  10. He has had back to back yellows and I published the stats. using "in the league" is the only way you can avoid 3 back to back yellows this season alone. I mean, look at this - its awful: Newcastle 3- Bordeaux 0 Newcastle 0 - Man Sunderland Newcastle Newcastle FC Bruges Bruges Newcastle. 4th Oct to 8th Nov thats 4 yellows and a red - yeah there's "nothing to see here".....
  11. Well I dont see them as wild - they are a fair comparison over appearances, and also we were saying a few posts back that he'd never had back to back yellows, when in fact he's more likely TO get back to back yellows than not. Premiership only would show a similar problem compared to his peers. Maybe its me, but I don't feel any pride watching players like Tiote - he's a liability in my mind, and we haven't even mentioned his shoot from stupid distances wastes of possession either. Only time will tell I suppose.
  12. Perhaps, I think a lot of ex man u players get a rep though, for nothing. E.G. Obertan, Simpson, Michael Appleton. etc. We're agreed though at least on this player, he's an absolute waste .
  13. We was robbed, IMO. I'm not joking when I wonder about bribes / pressure either , especially with the Ukraine background. Some of the decisions were very questionable, and not just the goals either.
  14. there's another I want shot of. Surely he's survived on reputation alone.
  15. my votes with Messi, by a country mile - due to his amazing team work. Ronaldos brilliant going forward tho.
  16. I'm working off percentages on Appearances though. The ratios for even those players aren't as bad. I see : Alex Song - 46 apps , 13 yellows - 28% Gareth Barry 10 yellows 1 red - 51 apps. - 22% Lee Cattermole 27, 13 - this one is the same as Tiote, but Tiote is far more talented, which is why I'm pissed with him - 48% Same year Tiote 28 , 14 - 50% . Thats twice as many as everyone we've mentioned other than Lee Cattershite. <end statto>
  17. Yeah my choice of Anita is probably laced by my thoughts that he's not getting a fair go at the moment . I'd pick him over perch as DMF is supposed to be anita's strongpoint. While I've argued the toss on stats, they are just that - but I was shocked at finding hes got 3 yellow cards in a row 3 times last year - thats just not good enough (for me). I hope as much as anyone that he gets back to his form when he arrived, but I can't get over what I see as a pretty serious discipline problem. I'm usually wrong, so I hope he proves it.
  18. all the players are DMF, I still miss your point Andrew. To be honest I picked them from F365's top 20 DMF of 2012 report. Whats wrong with the selection and why pick a forward or a goalkeeper to compare? They all play the tiote role dont they (except barton).
  19. Scholes is an old man and Andrew I don't understand they are league and champions league stats, from premiership 1st team players.
  20. Paul Scharner - last year - 38 appearances 9 yellows - 24% Francis Coquelin - this year - 20 appearances 1 yellow - 5% Rory Delap - last year - 36 , 5 - 14% Scott Parker - last year 49, 11 - 23% Yaya Toure - last year 47, 13 - 28% last big one, though I know hes not DMF - it still shows tiote's problem : Joey Barton - last year 34 , 10 - 30% I can't think of any more , but they are all getting nearly half the ratio of our livewire. I reckon Sissoko, Mbwia or Anita are better bets.
  21. I wanted to do this year but couldn't think of any decent defensive midfielders - I don't really watch anyone other than the toon. I thought ACN was every year - ooops! I'll edit this with some recent players shortly, but I reckon it'll be the same story - I doubt anyones sporting the 45% ratio Tiote has.
  22. I must be watching the wrong tiote. Tiote - 23 Sep 2012 Newcastle Norwich Yellow 26th sept Man Utd - Yellow then again 04th oct vs Bordeaux , then next match 07th Oct Man Utd , both bookings then again 25th Oct - FC Bruges , then again next match 08th Nov , Bruges Apart from that hes got a 50% ratio, with his only clean patch being 4 games between nov and dec. Last year he did three in a row three times - Africa Cup of Nations 3 matches from 26th Jan to 12 feb and again 04th march to 01st april then again 02 may to 13th may
  23. We might have to agree to disagree on this one. Roy Keane (peak) 1999 season (you win on this one !) 50 appearances 9 yellows. 18% Makelele (2000 season) 54 appearances 9 yellows. 17% ratio Owen Hargreaves 2007/2008 37 appearances 4 yellows 10% ish. Tiote this year - 22 appearances 11 yellows 1 red 48% ratio on yellows. Tiote last year 28 - 14 yellows 50% ratio and in case you think I picked superstars vs tiote, 1 a bit closer to home Mr "yellow" himself. David Batty 1999 24 appearances 10 yellows - still less than tiote's current ratio. I'm not a tiote hater, I think hes got great potential, but I added with his ANC commitments we just cant rely on him being available for 20% of a season. Anyhoo, just my two cents.
  24. He didn't really reveal his reasons in that interview. Candidate for shitest headline of the week. I reckon he might even stay for good .
