  1. Seriously, tell me someone we had an offer for that he refused? You can't say he hasn't cashed in if there's been no offers.
  2. Why not, he's in his little office now having a go at being a director of a football club.
  3. Sorry for multiple posts - but thought I'd pick up on this - Mike has cashed in, every single time hes had a chance. I tptally don't understand how you think you can put blame on any manager when this is our owner. The buck stops entirely with Ashley, its his fault we've got Pardew , his fault we lost keegan, Carrol, Nolan, and any other positive. He's stripping the club down to a profit making model and marketing platform and telling the fans it's making the club healthy. Healthy as a business and healthy as a sports club is a mean feat in the premiership and not acheviable unless you're already a winner. (Rooney for NUFC on his webpage today is a prime example of the total lack of scruples, a pure publicity stunt using our club to push his news network). e.g. The SportsDirect.com source was quoted as saying: "Newcastle see Wayne as their ideal player. He's a strong centre-forward, would relate to the fans and would be a massive boost to the club's brand name. "Low-level conversations have already been held between Newcastle and Rooney's agent, though the two clubs haven't spoken directly yet." However, a clarification was published on the site later in the day, reading: “SportsDirect News wishes to express its sincere apologies to Wayne Rooney and Triple Sports and Entertainment Group for publishing the article ‘Newcastle in shock Rooney bid’, which was formulated and published without authority, merit and is untrue.” * just like everything else that comes out of the greed monsters fat trap. This has embarrased NUFC at the benefit of some publicity for his shit almost invisible on google crappy new sports news business venture. Gawd I hate the guy, I thought we could do no worse than fat freddie.
  4. I think you miss the point - we have a manager who is shite because of the ownership and business model - and that "shite" manager is there because hes one of the few who can tolerate it. so it is Ashleys fault and it is fair to point the finger that way. I personally believe you cant judge pardew after what Ashleys done (and will do again) to him. The talk on here of monies we'll recieve to reinvest is hopelessly optimistic in my view. We'll sell to a skeleton crew if its good money and then buy in what we need in emergencies at bargain prices then be "surprised" when they show injury or attitude problems.. Erm... that's why he's 2.5 mil... etc.
  5. It's a personal thing I think, but I cannot understand anyone leaving early EVER , it defeats the purpose of being a "supporter". You're not supporting if you only sing when you're winning etc. The caveat being parents with nippers, I can understand why I'd want to just get them to the car and home rather than have them in that mass channel we have down to the town .
  6. I would have thought he assumed he was already going. Reading between the lines I thought his statements have been quite revealling in a Keegan case kind of way. I read that hes saying he was pressured to play the youngsters for a period of time and that he's probably feeling the same way as us. As soon as he starts putting the light on Ashley for making mistakes, I think he reckons hes already gone.
  7. another one, cheers for the belly laugh and I've passed it on as my own
  8. I've got a bucketload of faith in Yanga. I'd like to see us look at building a squad of almost equals. So another defender, another left midfielder, a defensive midfielder , and of course a striker (but ideally 2 for competition). Dream on dreamer. My prediction is :/ Ben Arfa out for a reasonable fee , no one in.
  9. I like Moyes and , unfortunately, think he'll do very well under alex's training . I reckon thats the deal, Fergie isn't leaving the club, just taking a step back.
  10. After having a go at everyone for not being optimistic about relegation - I'm really expecting some surprises to go for minimum fee clauses , or some other bollocks. Thankfully no-ones willing to pay 25 mil for Krul, but if they were he'd be gone, mid season without cover even. I truly do believe that the board have zero football wisdom, despite having the opportunity to learn from all their mistakes so far. *sobs*
  11. is that your default response to call us a mackem? What's sadder is looking on my profile page to find that someone pissed us off with that earlier in the day. I'm not here to have flame wars, but to chat with fans - if i disagree thats it , it isn't personal. Unless you start calling me a mackem and acting like a twat.
  12. Ole Solskarr came on for the last 10 minutes of many a Man U match and had an immediate impact. If your "creative forces" are that creative they aren't disorgansied and panicky. Look at colo , straight in the team. They just aren't good enough yet imo.
  13. Sad that its a guy who went half way through the season, but demba ba was our best and worst player imo. Best when he was playing, but going to chelsea nailed us in a way we couldn't recover from. I'd be tempted, despite getting panned here - to say my other pick would be Jonas , for the fact that the lads on his arse - his mate Colo threw his toys out the pram, but he put in 100% effort in every single game I saw him play in , it's such a shame Keegan didn't get time to use him as he intended. Pardew is killing his game. Lets not mention his complete inability to cross the ball though.
  14. Fergies coming, didnt you know? He wanted his last 3 years to be a challenge and thankfully Ashley's pipped him from Telford.
  15. I need a WHS bot. WHS ... again. I agree with Trophyshy with the "purple" players - though I wish we wouldnt swallow that line from Ashley and co - its cringeworthy. Krul and Arfa are our only really world class players at the mo. our signings are perhaps a bit more "beige" than purple.
  16. I'm optimistic to be honest, as long as Mike doesn't get an offers for key players we'll have a better squad than this time last year I reckon.
  17. Aye, I agree - but thats the criteria hes picking on , right? the Board have made that public donkeys ago. The fact is we aren't spending much more than 2 mil for each player, or if we are then they are claused ?
  18. totally agree with above. Injury crisis forced Pardews hand, I reckon any manager wants to wean his players in rather than the "sink or swim" approach hes been forced into. This again is my frustration with these "somethings got to change" posts. Yes it does, but it's not the manager (well it is, but its not under this board)
  19. Seriously? I thought Graham Carrs job was to pick up "good prospects at good prices" People with resell value etc. Thats it, he's done that , or thinks he has - he's got fook all to do with their development after purchase. If you buy any player whos championship standard or above (as all our french signings are imo) - for less than 2 million - you've hit that criteria immediately havent you?
  20. Seriously, why is every thread full of shitting ourselves over relegation. Its not going to happen . The only way we'd NEED A WIN against QPR is if we were 2 points behind wigan ffs.
  21. I enjoy reading your posts CT, as a lurker over the months - but seriously when you say pardew hasnt been brave enough to drop players - exactly who from the squad of perhaps 13 fit players should he drop? Isn't the problem that he hasn't had a squad to work with for most of the season? But that said, if you consider Marveaux, Ferguson etc to be ready - you have a different opinion. That's where I differ though and fall into the bag of it doesn't matter if we had frickin Jose Mourinho - he could do fuck all with a skeleton team with only 1 proven striker (and thats Ameobi, not Cisse!) hes just proven to be championship standard. Oh and what Asprilla said, dead on.
  22. Marveaux couldnt hold the midfield though, which by earmarking those two players you seem to be suggesting. Or I'm still getting the wrong end of the stick. Marveaux and "quality" just don't go for me -> more "good prospect". I even think that guy whos gone Abeid? was better -
  23. If it was that easy do you think we'd be in this position? My view is that Marveux has had plenty of opportunity and for some reason people want to dream hes a great player. Reminds me of viana in that respect - all the skills are there but the heart and attitude just isnt. Play Marveaux and accept that he'll dissapear for large periods as he doesnt do defence. For what its worth, given everyone available (and colo gone) I wouldn't put marveaux on the bench. Krul Deb Taylor Mbwia Santon/RTaylor (dream on) Arfa Anita/Perch Santon/Jonas Cabaye/Sissoko Campbell/Amoebi Cisse Bench from Amoebi , Rtaylor, Perch, Jonas. Anita, Campbell, Tiote, Haidara, Williamson Let the ridicule commence, I reckon this has a good mix of defence and attack and options to change things other than brining on Ameobi for our most effective player, or Perch to shore things up when we are behind already
  24. I dont believe sissoko is even injured tbh. Seems fishy with the media reports and then the guy is dropped entirely from the whole squad and bench. We don't "need" to beat anyone either - that's on wigan.
