  1. That was my immediate thought at the time. But Arteta is a massive hypocrite along with all his other unpleasant traits
  2. I’m going to try hard to make it this place plus Bluesky to keep with news, away games, fixtures etc. for Heaton Stannington. They’ve all caved in to Trump. Even Amazon are giving Melanie Trump a fortune to make a film or some bollocks.
  3. Was thinking about this last night but my dad has often said that Leeds in the 70s won a lot less than they should have because they were so disliked. So even in meaningless games for the opposition, they tried their hearts out. Obviously that was a different era and that was a thuggish Leeds team even by the standards of back then. But Arsenal are so dislikable in a different way. Arteta is such a fucking graceless, classless wanker. Their players are snide, soft, preening pricks. And the amount of entitled, ridiculous fam blud, you feel me, bro? Supporters they have is off the charts
  4. Given Bruno’s potential value, £500m could maybe buy you two and a half Keith’s in their prime. Makes you think
  5. Maybe time to get the fuck off Instagram, Facebook and so on. I honestly think it’s the only the weapon we’ve got if Zuckerberg is going to suck Trump’s cock for profit. You’ll probably feel better for it too after you’ve got used to it.
  6. At least until Mourinho is available
  7. Btw, the talk about Rice’s exquisite delivery and Arsenal’s bespoke, artisanal, handcrafted set pieces. Expertly designed by their expert set piece coach. And compare that to the equally lifting patter if we’d lost 0-2 in the first leg of a semifinal v Arsenal at home, with a squad costing next to nowt under Rafa, and almost all of our opportunities came from corners and free kicks
  8. That was fucking beautiful. Pure catenaccio for the final 1/4 but that’s a million miles away from just sitting deep and inviting pressure. Bellisimo. They created fuck all after that and we created more and played the better football before. Loads of great performances and Gordon and Isak will obviously grab the headlines. I thought Tonali was great. But Lewis Hall was absolutely fucking immaculate.
  9. Surprised that wasn’t a red. Havertz was clean through
  10. Trossard looks like he might need to change his tampon at half time.
  11. Keegan. Scored both in a 2-2 draw v the mighty Carlisle United featuring Pop Robson.
  12. Overwhelmed with a variety of respiratory illnesses at the minute, mate. Which is just making a bad situation worse
  13. That’s what I thought and I’ve seen the replay a couple of times on MOTD since. During the match then in the analysis. His arms are in an unnatural position but then he moves his arm out of the way of the ball and it then brushes his chest before possibly also brushing his upper arm or shoulder. It would have been an incredibly harsh second yellow. Also thought Gordon’s was a blatant pen. It barely got mentioned on MOTD. The highlights also made it look like we were under the cosh second half, which I never really thought was the case. I don’t think it’s an agenda by the BBC editorial team or anything. Except the usual greater concern of creating /adding to a story as opposed to accuracy. You know like: more pressure heaped onto manager after controversial defeat. The post-match interview helped frame all that
  14. John Tudor. Just missed out on it being Supermac
  15. Given who wrote the article, the thread will definitely be the better read
  16. I got a bit bored of Limmy like. I do like him but there’s only so many times watching him play at driving a truck simulator through (and then him reading the restaurant reviews) in some small US backwater is funny. I do like it when he lays into Cilla though.
  17. How have I never seen this before?
  18. England are currently top: https://www.uefa.com/nationalassociations/uefarankings/
  19. Yep. It’s funny how seemingly little things can create a big change in form. Tonali looks more comfortable sitting, and that releases Bruno to play further forward where his through balls can cause damage. There’s obviously an increased understanding that comes with that midfield 3 playing together too. What I also like is they’re all happy receiving the ball under pressure which allows better attacking football. Murphy playing well means Gordon can play on his favoured side. And Isak’s form has been discussed loads but it’s not really easy for a central lone striker to influence play much when the team isn’t playing consistently well. I think it’s as much to do with that with Isak as opposed to his playing much better. I do think Murphy is a bit underrated though. Even though he’s obviously in a great bit of form. I always think a lot of people underestimate how much confidence impacts team performances as well.
  20. I think you’ve said a few times we’re a mid-table side. Obviously we’ve got some very good players but the current run skews things. And we know our squad isn’t that deep. Particularly in some very key areas. While we’ve got a chance of CL I think Europa League would be decent. We’ve got no chance of winning the league imo
