it’s got be an own goal. Because it wasn’t going in otherwise. Seems fucking harsh like considering what a great goal it was but it’s absolutely correct

Definitely did that for ‘82 because Ossie Ardilles was numero uno

Aye. It’ll be absolutely fucking horrific and no doubt very popular

Reminds me, I got this recommendation on Amazon:

Guehi’s cost would’ve been spread over the length of his contract. Kelly is on loan until the summer so that money is not incoming until then. Not sure how the Almiron deal is structured but we might not want the first instalment or the bulk of the money until the summer for PSR reasons. Also the winter window is only a month so a properly run outfit would know if any potential targets could leave in January before the window even opened. There’s a bit of speculation in all that but what I am trying to say is buying Guehi last summer doesn’t mean we’d have had to sell a blue chip player this past window. And just because we didn’t intend buying anyone doesn’t mean that either.

Of course he is. Just like how he was harder than Covid

They’re great 👍🏻

Not necessarily on here but I’ve seen lots of stuff suggesting the investment has dried up etc. I don’t really see it, unless the new stadium and the state of the art training ground aren’t happening. I’m pretty sure that’s not the case, and I don’t see why the owners would be pressing ahead with that if investment wasn’t going to keep happening. The PSR discussions have been done to death but a few things to remember are the woeful inward revenue that was inherited, the massive squad overhaul that was needed (and has lead to position we didn’t really want to be in - selling two young assets in the summer to avoid repercussions). We’re clearly not the only ones feeling the need to tread carefully, just look at the lack of transfer activity in the January window compared to what it used to be like. All that means is we’re reliant on getting players we’re pretty sure about investing in. Players who’ll be here for years. There’s no point in looking at short term fixes in the Saudi league. There’s no guarantee they’d be sanctioned anyway as they’ve clearly been bought to raise the profile of the league with the World Cup in mind. What would be the point in signing a 37 year old Benzema for 6 months in any case? That’s an extreme example but it just doesn’t fit in with the way Howe or the hierarchy seem to want to do things. And if we start getting ‘creative’ it’ll just get outlawed the next time the cartel get together. I’d also say selling Kelly for £20m after getting him on a free is an incredible bit of business. It obviously needs to be a big summer but I don’t think there’s anything about the way we acted in January to suggest it won’t be.

It’s like something Alan Patridge might’ve eventually came up with if you extended the Monkey Tennis / Youth Hostelling with Chris Eubank scene by an hour or 3 -
I don’t know how you would go about fertilising one of those. But I suppose mouse-proportioned genitalia can have its advantages
