  1. That is mint. I'm reminded for some reason of this lad I used to know. Whenever you said something was good his usual would reply would be "Aye, but imagine it on E". He wasn't even taking the piss.
  2. I love how Liverpool fans reckon Rafa still having a house in the area means he still has a deep affection for Liverpool. Absolutely fuck all to do with the housing price crash forcing him to sit on his investment or lose a load of money of course.
  3. Breakdance / Breakdance 2 were cheese-fests at the time so I don't think they'll have stood the test of time too well. I bet the soundtracks are still mint like.
  4. That's the one. Not seen that film you're on about like. Have you seen Beat Street or, even better Breakdance the Movie (in fact there was a follow-up: Breakdance 2: Electric Boogaloo).
  5. The B-side was 'sexually explicit' and called 'La-di-da-di' and contained the line 'with your wrinkled pussy, I can't be your lover' which was amusing at the time. Also, MC Ricky D who featured on it would go on to become Slick Rick. I've still got the 7 inch vinyl in the house.
  6. Funnily enough 2nd time round at Barca I was in one of them bars near the ground where the locals went out side to set upon some Newcastle fans (actually this entailed them hoying a few bottles then scurrying back in the bar). They never said a fucking peep to us like, funnily enough. They were just daft kids I suppose but not exactly Chelsea Headhunters. Most of the people we encountered (including the half the ones in the bar) seemed pretty sound like. And LTB, your patter is quality btw.
  7. FIrst single I ever bought was The Show by Doug E Fresh as it happens.
  8. Mouse Hunt It's shit like but I could definitely sit through it.
  9. Is that right? Robbie Elliot scored with a header iirc. Would've been 97, i.e. 96/97 season because Dalglish, having took over from KK, employed Elliot is a 3 man midfield which allowed him to play Tino, Sir Les and Shearer upfront. I think Elliot played every game that season under KD and went on a cracking run of form. So what did Dalglish do that following summer? He sold him to Bolton and replaced him with Pistone. Elliot got a broken leg in one of his first matches for them (might've been his debut / home debut). It was a Monday night game iirc. I think it was the day after Princess Diana died and our Sky match away to Liverpool was cancelled. Funny the things you remember / how time flies...
  10. The good news is we won't be in it next season
  11. Quality. Sammy is the anti-Joey Barton.
  12. That Mexes goal Also, apparently Arsenal have now made the knockout phase of the CL for 14 consecutive seasons. That's ridiculous.
  13. Aye, apparently the bloke who sold him his house is none too popular with his former neighbours.
  14. http://www.visitsunderland.com/attraction-type.asp?categoryid=5
  15. I bet the story about him in Eldon Square is true like. Just going off the rest of his patter, y'knaa?
  16. I take your points, Fish but Di Matteo was never the man to build a dynasty around, was he? They missed that boat when they pissed Mourinho off.
  17. Actually I'd say that CB was as big an area of weakness because of Vidic not playing and Ferdinand not being the player he was and two of the goals came from targetting that area.
  18. Nah, soz like. You make some fair points re: Pardew but that's just bollocks writing it off like. We pretty much dominated them from the off in that game. Yes, we were direct but that was the way to get at them. We also pressed them all over the pitch. The tactics were absolutely perfect for getting a positive result against that Man Utd side. The tacky marketing by the club afterwards is neither here nor there.
  19. I don't really understand the win ratio fascination tbh. Re: the league anyway, it's the points ratio that matters.
  20. You read any of Simon Raven's Alms for Oblivion series by the way, Parkster? I was reminded of you a bit by Fielding Gray
  21. Success breeds stability in those cases, Fish. Not the other way round. Also, the period you speak of is Chelsea's most successful ever isn't it? Also, who is the most successful club side ever? Real Madrid. Hardly a beacon of managerial stability. Money wins things more than anything else and now more than ever. Di Matteo was just a stop-gap anyway. Two losses at the end of last season (perhaps even just losing the CL final) and he probably wouldn't even have been in the job come August gone.
