  2. I bet the story about him in Eldon Square is true like. Just going off the rest of his patter, y'knaa?
  3. I take your points, Fish but Di Matteo was never the man to build a dynasty around, was he? They missed that boat when they pissed Mourinho off.
  4. Actually I'd say that CB was as big an area of weakness because of Vidic not playing and Ferdinand not being the player he was and two of the goals came from targetting that area.
  5. Nah, soz like. You make some fair points re: Pardew but that's just bollocks writing it off like. We pretty much dominated them from the off in that game. Yes, we were direct but that was the way to get at them. We also pressed them all over the pitch. The tactics were absolutely perfect for getting a positive result against that Man Utd side. The tacky marketing by the club afterwards is neither here nor there.
  6. I don't really understand the win ratio fascination tbh. Re: the league anyway, it's the points ratio that matters.
  7. You read any of Simon Raven's Alms for Oblivion series by the way, Parkster? I was reminded of you a bit by Fielding Gray
  8. Success breeds stability in those cases, Fish. Not the other way round. Also, the period you speak of is Chelsea's most successful ever isn't it? Also, who is the most successful club side ever? Real Madrid. Hardly a beacon of managerial stability. Money wins things more than anything else and now more than ever. Di Matteo was just a stop-gap anyway. Two losses at the end of last season (perhaps even just losing the CL final) and he probably wouldn't even have been in the job come August gone.
  9. I'd like to think this was a bit of self-deprecating parody on your part but I fear that may be giving you a little bit too much credit.
  10. I suspect it's similar in that they already have a replacement lined up and were just waiting for an opportune moment to sack Di Matteo though.
  11. That picture tells you he drinks two pints of flat lager at once and wears shades indoors. I'd watch out if I was you.
  12. Can't remember which poster said it but they said they hoped Aeris, Cabayeaye and LBT were all the same wum because the alternative was just too tragic. That pretty much nails it for me.
  13. Apparently the police were called round to his house recently as he was dancing with some lads in the street with the music on full blast in his Range Rover. No idea if they were dressed like Bowie and Jagger at the time though.
  14. Ballard's autobiography is class as it happens. Written when he knew he was on the way out. Obviously his novels are great too.
  15. Classic Hitchcock - The Birds, Rear Window, Rope, The 39 Steps, North by Northwest, Vertigo, Psycho, etc. Also, virtually anything by David Lean but especially Great Expecations, Lawrence of Arabia and Brief Encounter.
  16. Actually Money is ok. London Fields is an absolute steaming turd of a book though. And he comes across as a right twat.
  17. I hate Martin Amis. I do like Will Self though. Not enough to actually read any more of his novels mind. That might be canny, however.
  18. Aye, there's absolutely zero doubt that it's something they're constantly looking into. He just got off with that criminal damage thing down in London as well, didn't he? I bet they were gutted about that.
  19. Breakfast at Tiffany's is good too like, despite the lack of murders.

    Cooking

Is that the place near Queen's on Botanic Avenue? Went there a few times. Basic / canteen-style inside but really nice food? Think the only booze they do is Mex lagers and frozen Margaritas out of a Slush Puppy machine if it's the same one. I really liked the place. Cheap as well.
