It would've been fair enough from a piss-taking point of view seeing as he'd been championing Obertan.

Can't believe CT hasn't been back to gloat and tell everyone he was right. Would've been fair play to him if he had as well.

Nice to see everyone. I was canny mortal by the time Jill and JJ turned up like. Kept my pizza down though.

Modric seems like an Allardyce type of player as well.

And that you can trust the Tories with the NHS. Or something.

Would love taking one of those mini blow torches to his smug bonce. Even better if it was an ad on telly for one of them. I'd do a little speech at the beginning about how I was waiving my fee.

Classy that like. Might ask wor lass if she fancies a similar look for the dining room.

I think you see what a manager is all about during a bad run of form. Some will keep trying to play their way out of trouble. Pardew always looks like he hasn't got a fucking clue how to stop the run and goes ultra cautious. With the opposite effect usually being achieved (i.e. we seem to leak more goals).

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team

It's a bit like the patter about not having lost the dressing room. If true and Cisse is 'on fire' it makes his managerial performances even worse in that context, not better.- 10610 replies

Aye. I meant '10 years at least'. Probably unworkable in terms of something you could legislate for but it would be a better state of affairs if you could some how make it so I reckon. Too many 'career politicians'.

You did that when you had a shit in the pool.

Love this tune he did: Lush guitar on it. Probably my favourite guitarist tbh.

They should have to spend at least years post-education outside of politics before they can become an MP.

Yep. As I mentioned before, I wonder how much any military involvement in Syria etc. might be costing. Without getting into the rights and wrongs of that money is suddenly made available when it 'needs' to be. A bit like there being no limit on helping out the flood victims of last winter, according to the PM.

Actually think there's some truth in some of what Wolfy says although I don't buy the idea of it all being part of a big coherent plan. Certainly not to the extent he does. Read some similar thoughts before and the idea of the 'freedom of the internet' actually being a type of prison isn't something new and has been put forward by Adam Curtis (mentioned in the ISIS thread) amongst others.

When Pardew goes end of October, who do you want as..........
Alex replied to accadacca's topic in Newcastle Forum
I'd already assumed that was your thinking style tbh. -
Haven't they been there for months? Also, isn't it just a line on a map in this particular area rather than a some heavily defended boundary. Also, I don't think IS are going to launch an invasion of Turkey (what's been stopping them before now if they wanted to?) because they'd get their arses kicked.

@@ohhh_yeah Couldn't be arsed to watch that all but ffs Looks like just the sort of soulless, manufactured place he would love as well.

I think what's bad about the stuff from Beardsley is 1) he doesn't need the money because he's the sort of bloke who'll still have most of the money he made at Liverpool in the bank and 2) his close attachment to the club. I can't stand Ashley or Pardew for obvious reasons but they have nothing like the emotional attachment to the fans that someone like Beardsley does. There's obviously no logic to what he says either because you can either have Pardew doing a great job under very difficult circumstances, which means the owner is restricting his ability to do the job properly or you have a great owner giving the manager backing which means there's something amiss so far as how the manager is performing*. You can't have both being 'great'. Obviously. *Not saying those are the only two options, just commenting on what Beardsley said. -
I like his solo stuff and some Gong stuff too but I really love the techno/ambient stuff (which incorporates his brilliant guitar work) that he has done with his lass in System 7. Seen them a couple of times, most recently at some festival in N. Yorks about 3 years ago.

One of the best ones is where you can't smoke at a bus shelter (even a one with 3 sides open to the elements) but you can stand a foot away and it's ok
