Aye, Given really commanded his area like
-
I think we're hoping to move him on but if that doesn't happen we've saved some money. He's fit again, I think, but we don't need him (barring an injury crisis). Even if we do 'need' hm it doesn't matter because we won't go down. Applying what I see as the owner's 'logic' here, obviously.

Howay, man. They're bound to be paying most of his wages at least. And Ashley loves owt like that, big deal or not.
-
Maybe I do, maybe I don't.

Santon deal is largely about saving money on wages. We're safe from relegation and we've got a few other players who can play there. Him being a good player is neither here nor there as far as the decision making went.
-
Just kidding. I honestly don't watch enough of us any more to comment on the players much though.

Blatantly a short arse.

Didn't read it but thought the formatting was appalling.

Read that as 'lick' at first. Which would probably have been marginally less creepy.

Given that context, pointing out he was talking complete shite was too good an opportunity to miss

He was always an all-rounder. He was touted as such before he signed properly for Durham, when he was still at the academy there. He didn't bowl a lot initially though but that's because Durham have a lot of good bowlers so he was eased into the role as all-rounder. I'm not sure why you think he never bowled a ball though. He got Mark Ramprakash out on his Durham one-day debut (when he was still an academy player), which caused a bit of a stir. He also got a wicket on his first class debut.

Glasgow is on the up. These days it only has the 2nd highest murder rate in Western Europe.

In a gimp mask?

An injury is possible but, if iirc, there's only a couple of warm up matches between now and then for England. I know he had some poor form with the bat last year but he seemed to have got his magic back with that innings for Durham in the one day semi. There aren't many players on the planet who could've batted like that. It was devastating. And I think I would have made allowances for his poor form in any case for a few reasons. He's clearly a match winner on his day (with bat and ball). You look at players like Woakes and (to a lesser extent) Jordan and they're good performers. But they are never going to turn in those match-winning performances. I know consistency is a big issue but it seems daft playing it safe when England have so little chance of winning the tournament anyway. Collingwood is spot on in what he has said.

You didn't want a sensible discussion. Rather than recognise your own hypocrisy you used your working for the NHS as some sort of justification why your own standards didn't need to be applied to yourself. It reminded me of the time when you openly admitted to buying stuff cheaper abroad so as to not pay UK tax*. You also justified that by claiming you 'did your bit' (or words to that effect) whilst completely missing the irony that both your career and the NHS are only possible because people pay tax rather than evade it. *Not that it particularly bothers me, it's the sanctimonious way you judge everyone else which makes you so open to ridicule.

Not that I think they would anyway but is to late to include Ben Stokes in the World Cup squad? Seemed daft to exclude him on the basis of the Sri Lanka tour. It seemed he was almost set up to fail there anyway and he's certainly proven the selectors wrong since.

Funnier than it probably should be.

Glad you've taken my advice, J. Let this be a lesson to you.

Almost makes you wonder why they voted to remain part of the UK.

You could've spent the time you took typing that to volunteer.

Yeah, that really smarts. An actual sweaty rather than a plastic one (presumably you've temporarily swapped your ten gallon hat for a Tam o' Shanter) would probably laugh it off anarl.
-
If I was being sarcastic, which I wasn't, whichever post you were talking about would have been an example of sarcasm rather than the definition of it. Perhaps it's time to quit while you're behind.
