Used to love it. Could never, even as a bairn, work out why the baddies always locked them in a garage with a forklift truck, sheets of steel and an oxyacetylene welding kit like. Seemed to be every episode they busted out in a makeshift armoured vehicle of some description.

I know he was the person with ultimate responsibility on the day but I feel like he's been slightly scapegoated as the politicians (amongst others) have escaped and they helped create the situation where something like that happening in a big match was almost an inevitability. Especially given the notoriety of the South Yorkshire police and how frequently a woefully inadequate stadium like Hillsborough was used for big games. Terrible how it's taken so long for the truth to come out (officially, so to speak).

I might just get an A-Team box set.

The person who recommended it reckons Sons of Anarchy is mint and I don't fancy that either. Can't bring myself to watch Game of Thrones so I thought I'd give this a whirl. Quite fancy that documentary series you were on about although selling it to my lass is another matter and I watch so little telly on my own it's a none starter otherwise. @@Park Life Cheers, duly noted

Heard some good things about Ray Donovan. Any good?

It's more interesting than the fucking football anyway.

Aye, it felt like there was a season in there that went missing. Although I suppose just more of the same would've been rightly criticised too.

Should have Anita at centre-back. Just for the lolz

What happened to you, Tom? I remember the student spunking £1000s on guitars and amps whilst stealing your housemates' food and complaining about not having any drinking money

Just finished the final season of Boardwalk as it happens. Thought it was quality throughout but the last two or three episodes felt like they rushed the ending a bit.

UKIP are probably looking at something like one seat but, next time round, who knows? It looks like a second consecutive hung Parliament which represents quite a sea change considering how infrequent they've been in the past. The major parties might actually have to seriously think about the way they do things. For ages it's all been about putting their resources into fighting the 100 or so marginal seats that determine the government in general elections and, basically, neglecting the concerns of anyone else. UKIP have tapped into this and, whether you agree with them or not (I don't for what it's worth) plenty people do have legitimate concerns about immigration and the EU. The error of the main parties has been to label UKIP and its supporters as a racist lunatic fringe when in fact many Tories have wanted out of the EU for ages and don't like the levels of immigration. Similarly many traditional Labour voters think that waves of EU immigration have flooded the job markets with tradesmen etc. For them, it feels like a betrayal. Obviously there's a lot of crossover there too.

I think the left may have already lost its influence. It's all neo-liberal economics now anyway. And those 'rebels' UKIP don't even pretend they're going to change that as far I can tell.

How lad, it's Chez who recommends Gemmill the dog turds in that thread, I'll have you know.

The nuclear deterent didn't stop him doing what he wanted in Ukraine so why would it make a difference in the future?

Should get the Secret Footballer to manage them.

Look at Lord Snooty with his first class stamps and everything.

Just finished the final series of Boardwalk Empire. Not really sure what to watch now. Got Season 2 of Lillyhammer. Season 1 was a good laugh but not really in the same league as something like Boardwalk.
