Serena Williams was serving that fast years ago. She is the greatest server of all time in the women's game though. As for 110mph being a serious weapon 5 years ago, I'm pretty sure, without checking, that Becker's second serve was faster than that when he won the title 30 years ago. The balls have been made a bit softer too and the courts at Wimbledon behave more like hard courts than they used to. That's one of the reasons there's far less serve-volley players than there used to be and the changes were made to try and break there total domination at Wimbledon.
