  1. I think they'll pick the same side.
  2. Used to love Ministry. Faith No More were fucking mint too, if we're talking 80s shit.
  3. And New York House / Garage, baby. Oft neglected in terms of its influence compared to it's Chicago brethren.
  4. I'll be honest, I did like them. Back in middle school like. I don't think they were shit but they're just a poor man's Yazoo really. I reckon Andy Bell got picked for sounding a bit like Alison Moyet.
  5. 90s were my favourite decade for music for obvious reasons I suppose but the chart music was often fucking abysmal then too.
  6. Depeche Mode were my favourite band for a while. Loved Violator. What an album. 101 was a class live album from a couple of years before that. Just Can't Get Enough is shit mind. Although I like Vince Clarke and speaking of which, Yazoo were class.
  7. Trouble is with Bell that he's got most of his runs and has a better average batting at 5 and 6 but those aren't problem positions for England.
  8. I think, given it was 1933, even the adults could've been taking the piss. Her uncles later connections make it dodgy though, whether it was at the time or not. Hitler had only just come to power though. In 1936 the world went to Berlin for the Olympics when a fair bit more was known about Hitler and the Nazis. Even more so in the 1938 incident I refer to. Not saying the players were to blame or anything. I just think it being 1933 makes a lot of difference to the context of such a gesture.
  9. Pretty sure KK played (came on as sub) and did a bow to the Gallowgate, Waddle and Gazza played too I think. Used to go to a canny few athletics meets at Gateshead too as it happens.
  10. Roadblock was probably the best thing they ever did, which is ironic really given they didn't even pretend to be someone else on that one.
  11. First album I ever bought was Duran Duran (Seven and the Ragged Tiger). On cassette, of course.
  12. I'm reminded of Neville Chamberlain's famous words on the toilet....
  13. I think that's ok if you're about 9, which you probably were. Liked a bit of Nik Kershaw around the same age. Phil Collins always reminds me of the player profiles in Shoot and Match annuals as he always seemed to be their favourite pop star.
  14. Alex

    The BBC

    Missed that. Uncanny.
  15. Not really my cup of char, even back then. Level 42 are a guilty pleasure mind.
  16. There was loads of good stuff in the 80s. None of which CT was in to
  17. Must've been the best part of 30 years ago like, 87 or something like that.
