I actually think he’d be great in our system as an 8 once he got used to the role. it summed Southgate up in a way that he tried to play him in the euros as one of two DMs. Then also didn’t play him when he reverted back to wingbacks. Which is probably his ideal position

Even if Man City win I can’t see anything other than Liverpool winning the league. So you want Liverpool to win from a NUFC pov. Draw is ok too

@PaddockLaddid you watch the Calcutta Cup? I was genuinely pissed pff when Scotland missed the conversion to win it at the death Talk about scraping a win. Although I suppose England were due one

The worst Man Utd team ever patter was a ridiculous statement which he also got an easy ride for. Ten Haag won two trophies and got them into the CL

They’re lucky the bottom 4 are cut adrift because Man Utd are absolute dogshit

Obviously straight men raping women (for example) is much less of an issue than trans people committing sexual offences. Because if that wasn’t the case then you’d have had all the people concerned about the latter campaigning to stop the former for years and years. Wouldn’t you? Unless there’s something else going on

Bilbao put us out on away goals. Won 3-2 at home, after being 3-0 up and lost 1-0 away in the return leg. Everyone who went to Bilbao says it was incredible. At that time I was frequenting Chris Needham country, studying English at Loughborough -

I went to the home leg in the UEFA Cup when we beat Antwerp 5-2, after the 5-0 away and the Rob Lee hat trick of headers. Happy days Also, while I’ve never been Ghent has long had a reputation for a cracking techno scene including the home of R&S Records -
I mean my version was more pithy but that works too

Just seen this. Sending you lots of love, MF. So sorry to hear about your awful news.

24 clean sheets now. Which is already a record equalling feat for a championship season, including 12 in a row now after last night

Also is it Wallonia where the Ardennes Forest is and where they have F1 GP where some people speak German? Not been to that but like. I would love to go back. I’ve only been the one time (Brussels and Bruges or Bruxelles and Brugge ). The flight times were a bit shit so we saw Bruges properly and not very much of Brussels. We did see the Grand Place (and Manneken Pis ) though -

That was his argument never seen a bookie offering odds on it like. You just get what you’d have won divided by two and lose half your stake so it’s not the same -
Everybody’s entitled to their opinion. Unless they’ve just moved here.

Actually I think with that it’s the same, ie the British use the French name ‘Ypres’ whereas the locals would use the Flemish ‘Ieper’. I think its military nickname with the British armed forces was pronounced ‘wipers’ ie a bit of a joke based on the French spelling. I hadn’t thought about it until you’ve mentioned it there but there was probably a decision made in WWI to always use the French name for places to avoid confusion. Which wouldn’t have necessarily applied to somewhere like Zeebrugge, which I think would have been a tiny fishing port back then rather than than the much larger port it became. I have watched a lot of documentaries and read and studied about WWI in case you were wondering Actually Belgium played quite a big role in WWII as well and at certain points battles were fought in what remained of the trenches from the previous conflict. -

Just reminded me of that time that prize knacker Spurs fan Danny B was on here arguing blind that a football match was ‘a two horse race’. Even after I pointed out there were 3 possible results after 90 mins. -

Isn’t ‘Brugge’ one of those names we always pronounce wrong in this country btw? I.e we say it like ‘brooj’ as in ‘Bruges’ for some odd reason. Ie using the French name when we should pronounce it the same way as in Zeebrugge because it’s in the Flemish speaking part of Belgium and that spelling corresponds to its Flemish name. Anyway, as you were -
Just reading this and it’s ‘funny’ how the same free thinkers, who’ve clearly risen above the level of the rest of us sheep, are still buying into the same rhetoric from the same grifters who delivered the shit sandwich that was ( and still is) Brexit.
