Harsh. As I understand it they were scheduled to be there for 5 days and had the appropriate paper work, visas, etc. I don't think we should spend millions bailing them out but they should get consular support, we still have a embassy there. Also politically useful to highlight what cunts Iran are. Not that Israel is any better. Edit: after reading home office advice, they have been silly billies.I can still sympathise though. Not sure what other routes you can take if you're biking to Oz.

Latest from the orange shit gibbon. Normal.

An Florida is full of crinklies dependent on Medicare. So he slashes welfare and gives tax breaks? So as you say, that benefits blue states and disbenefits red ones. So he hits his base. Interesting.
-
Texas is canny rich, maybe Florida too, but a lot of the rest are probably net takers of tax money.

Interesting you mention federalism. Listening to Rory Stewart today on TRIP, he was saying that because the US is essentially federal in structure, he expects Trump's antics to cause chaos at the State level, with individual states refusing to pass his reforms. And of course Trump will have destroyed the legislative and judicial guard rails, well that works both ways. Basically he said everyone has the assumption that the authoritarian Trump will do what he wants, but in reality he could be taken down in a civil war. I mean Stewart has been very wrong before, not least about the US election, but I respect his opinions. I agree there could be long term benefits for Europe if it survives this period. We must never rely on the US again. Kick them the fuck out of our continent. But what worries me is the contagion they have caused, the rise of popularism. Things are looking very dicey in Germany, France, and the UK. Not to mention Italy, Hungary. I desperately want things to get better but it never seems to.

Posh twat.

I was at my daughter's. An escape room. If it wasn't for the kids, I'd still be stuck there. Couldn't even read the numbers on the padlocks.

Reckon we just might have to settle for the cups this year.

It's not even her, it's her assistant iirc. I love joking with you mate, but this has triggered me somewhat. Anyway.....

OMFG. Just watching the news, BBC at 10, and they spent 5 minutes talking about an alleged 50 quid fraud Reeves had over a handbag? This is not normal, this is not sane. The state broadcaster is hostile to the government in power to this extent? It fucking reeks to me.

Canny advice.

Bit cold even then I'd think. Ffs don't go to Blyth Isegrim, walk the other way to Cullercoats, Tynemouth and North Shields fish Quay. Loads of great drinking holes. Metro back or number 1 bus.

Yeah, I guess the analogy would be its like tipping back on a wooden chair. One minute your fine, the next you've gone arse over tit in a second, banged your head, and there is claret everywhere.

True, don't know how it got so bad, so quick. I just need to win my Omaze house, get stocked up on tinned food, and spend the extra cash they give you on barbed wire and a machine gun post, and I'm sorted. 👍

If the US wants to pay off its national debt, just grant @Monkeys Fist citizenship in Ohio? Btw, to be clear, I am not on twitter, but can still copy links.

When Mrs Rents started working for the yanks that was also true, and true for me. Then they effectively froze our pay to bring us back in line with UK peer companies, with worse T&Cs. Also, you will be on half what an equivalent position is on over there. Traitor.

Of course its a huge win for Putin, who let us not forget, is a literal war criminal. Apparently the area of Ukraine that is rich in rare earth metals is the Donbas, which Russia will keep and sell in a deal with Donny. We have to be brave now. Europe has to forget its differences and join together. An EU army, or NATO sans the US. Militarily, the Russians are nothing to be scared of. They spent 3 years and a million troops taking 100 km of land in a practically developing country. Russia has a lower GDP than the UK. Western Europe need not fear them if we are united. Stand by Ukraine, don't let Russia dictate their fate. Don't let their murdered soldiers and citizens die in vain. Canada should distance itself from the US. Join the EU, why not? An equal partner in forward thinking, progressive, culturally advanced group of nations, or the subservient bitch of a debased society led by an orange psychopath? Boycott American goods. They're shite anyway. Go to the US and their beer and cheese is rank, their beef is full of hormones. Their cars are shit, their planes literally fall out the sky. Fuck me, they even ruined chocolate. Turn off their social media in Europe, which is the only thing they really export (well, that and weapons) with the added bonus of stopping our kids' brains turning to blancmange. If you work for a US company, tell them to get fucked. The US is big but not big enough to survive by itself. Bring the fuckers to heel. Will you join me comrades?

Jesus Christ.

Let's hope he does replicate what he did at Twitter. Reduced it's value by 80%. If he does that to the US it's economy will be similar to Germany's.
-
True, but tbf it's not like there was any noticeable news today. Nothing like the leader of the free world literally cosying up with Putin and throwing Europe and Ukraine to the dogs.

All good economists know, 5 1/2 years rounded up is a decade.

No, exactly. I was and still am a massive fan of the so called founders of Brit Pop, Suede, and they have fuck all to do with this movement in reality. Why weren't bands like Radiohead and the Manics classed as Brit Pop? It's not a musical movement, there is no coherence here. But for me the time did have a zeitgeist feel to it which I miss. Whether it was genuinely better or just because I was young I don't know. Also coincided with the best NUFC team ever. If I had to distil the whole feeling into a single song it would be Arab Strap's "First Big Weekend of Summer" which is identifiably set 14th to 16th June 1996. Never liked Blur or Oasis. Loved Pulp, though I I'd be amazed if there are not some dodgy skeletons in Cocker's wardrobe that will one day fall out. Talking of zeitgeist's though, Albarn perfectly captured the feeling of Brexit in the Good, the Bad, and the Queen in "Merrieland". A feeling of insularity, decay, nostalgia, undertones of racism. He's one artist that has become more relevant with increasing age.

And to top it all off, he is a mackem cunt.

Cheers lads. This is a joke, cos I am very happy and relieved, but this kind of sums up my emotions at the moment, the amount of time I've pursued this particular position with the immediate financial implications it brings (and no AI used Meenz!).
