1. Can't see the attraction myself. And isn't she a bit old for you? Do you like being mothered or something?

Peasepud - 50,860 on Space invaders? I've just got over 20,000 and my wrist now knows what it would feel like to be attached to Jimbo's arm.....

What a fantastic idea Craig. I have a complaint about Pac man though - it's not a direct emulation, the ghosts behaviour isn't quite right. I spent weeks in the 80s learning specific routines on how to beat the game, which for some utterly bizarre reason I can still remember. I was looking forward to impressing you all with my 200,000 plus scores and reaching the mythical 'ninth key' level, but it doesn't work. Also there are no cut animation scenes. Did you know on the later levels the ghosts don't turn blue when you eat an energiser, in fact eventually they don't even run away? They don't make games that hard nowadays....
4. We should have no problem climbing the league then, and finish at least in the top 4? Except of course you have missed out the fact that Souness is incapable of getting the best out of even good players. He is a shit coach and is clueless when it comes to tactics - haven't you noticed? I'll be interested to hear your excuses for Souness's continued failings in six months time. And I'll try not to say I told you so.

Well I gave up my season ticket....! I live quite cheaply with my wife. No pubs, no restaurants gave up smoking, few holidays, cheap car etc. We used to spend a fortune going out in London but it became a case of working to pay for our social lives. To be honest though we have a great time doing our own thing. It'll wear thin in time but the idea was to come up here so I could write. I make backing tracks for a karaoke company for quids. It sounds shit but you actually have to recreate the track from scratch, there's no machine... It's like doing a reproduction of a painting, you still have to be able to paint. I also do a bit of TV music through a mate in London, but I don't control how much work I get as it all comes from him. I did do a stint playing covers up here but the money's not great and the venues were less than wonderful. I don't worry about living cheque to cheque. You kind of get used to it and I know people with careers who are just as worried but they have even greater financial responsiblities. There you go. 42593 Cheers. Interesting stuff. So was the move up here a cost-of-living motivated thing? And you're right about the cheque to cheque thing - I earn decent enough money and every time I get a pay rise I convince myself it's going to leave me so much better off per month, but you just adjust your spending accordingly and before long I'm twisting about how I need more cash etc. 42596 That's very true. You can never have enough money. But, at the same time, you're unlikely to starve.

Gee thanks! 42581 Well if that's how you're gonna treat your fans.... 42582 I'm not after "fans". That particular aspiration disappeared when I was 24/5. It wouldn't suit me now, and I'm not hungry for it. (If I was ever good enough anyway). As for songwriting, well that's about longevity. I hope the publishers like what I'm writing. If not, I'll write some more. 42584 Serious question (and you can tell me to mind my own business): how do you survive financially between getting stuff published? I've no idea how much getting something published pays, but are you left living paycheque to paycheque and under constant pressure to come up with something saleable, or can you make money from session work in between getting stuff published? Just interested as to how the whole thing works. 42587 You want to do his accounts, don't you?
7. 42559 Sorry, I had to laugh when I saw your new post count!
8. Did you watch any of those games? Because if you did you would know that, first half against Man City excepted, we were completely shit and very fortunate to get more than 3 points. You've just proved how well Souness has lowered expectations - this shit we are forced to endure is good enough for you and if you disagree you are then a whiner. 42556 Lowered expectations, no trophies since 1955 (apart from Fairs cup), what expectations should I have??? I call it realism, the result of supporting NUFC pre Keegan. Yeah, and I hate watching Chelsea but they win. If its all about entertainment, get a ticket for the panto. 42557 Second best supported team in the league - FACT. Of course we can't compete with Chelsea - no-one can. But we should at least be able to compete with the rest. In reality we are a million miles away. Is it unreasonable to expect some improvement after spending £40 million??? And as for entertainment, are you seriously saying it doesn't matter? Do you think it is the duty of the fans to fork out substantial amounts of their salaries to be bored shitless? Can we not expect some flair and some attacking football, at least at home? Don't bother answering. I know you think it is the paying fans fault we are shit and nothing to do with Souness. This, of course, from your vantage point 3000 miles away across the Atlantic.

10. You're right, it's a little harsh, I do tend to veer to one extreme or another with people. I thought he was all right until I read his autobiography, he comes out of it looking like a complete whinging tosser, who never made a mistake in his entire life and his nationalistic 'God Save the Queen and Might England' bollocks bordered on racism. I don't suffer fools gladly, and he's a fool. 42537 He went down in my estimation after reading his autobiography too actually. Things that really pissed me off were: The fact he clearly would have dropped us to manage England again if he had the choice. His blood bleeds black and white my arse. His obsession with money, and in particular a very insulting comment about how much he was worth compared to "normal" people. His general lack of respect for Newcastle fans' intelligence. His treatment of foreign players, especially Solano. He just couldn't avoid getting a last dig at him (Boro vs Villa match), could he? His talking up players that we all know frankly were shit, just because he signed them (e.g. Cort). His assessment of Jenas was frankly ridiculous. So yes, I probably agree with you on the whole.
11. A bit harsh that, isn't it? Nobody's perfect.
12. This thread will probably die now its home time. It was fun while it lasted!
13. You're probably the biggest twat on this whole forum. I think to be fair, more than one person realises this! *waits for picture of fish.......* 42501
14. Social suicide? On the internet? Surely not? No, I'm happy to be the scapegoat, it serves a useful function here. 42496 ffs
15. Bollocks, I've come out of this thread quite well. 42471 Uber-clique! 42473 I'm on a different level of clique, with me as the only member. 42477 42479 You see, I've left Renton speechless, which is a first. 42483 Well I was going to say something sarcastic but then chickened out, realising that doing so on this board would be tantamount to social suicide! I'd be the new Asprilla's foreskin!
16. When i come up and meet you all alex, we'll see how wrong you are mate. I believe the 'french knickers' comment was relevant to that particular thread. I wouldnt come on here and start a new thread announcing i prefer french knickers!! I'm not a stuck up woman, i see no big deal about discussing underwear preferences. I am an open type of person. As for frustrated...........LOL, no, i have never experienced that feeling. As for bored, no, i have a family, friends and 2 jobs, i dont have time to get bored. 42446 I'm not a little boy either, I'm down with the clique though 42450 ohhh that 'clique' comment caught a nerve did it alex? 42457 Not really I was taking the piss to be honest. 42480 Never, surely not?
17. Bollocks, I've come out of this thread quite well. 42471 Uber-clique! 42473 I'm on a different level of clique, with me as the only member. 42477 Edit: bollocks.
18. JUST FUCK OFF, ALRIGHT? Just in case you were feeling a bit left out like.
19. This is turning into a complete bitchfest tbh.
20. What? Where? When? How? Why?
21. I agree. It's a bit of a closed shop unless you only say blindingly obvious platitudes. To be fair, sweet left peg seems ok. 42424 Everyone loves SLP. He's great, the bastid.
22. Ahhh, that'd be the clique.
23. I'm lost now. What are we talking about?
24. errrm does that apply to ALL southerners on here? and are you now the spokesperson for this forum? Or was it just a sweeping statement? 42354 It was intended to get a bite out of him but to be fair to him he saw through it. unlike you 42363 like you just bit? 42384 Classic double whoosh. You're learning.
