Reading Blue Coat It's in the credits at the end but they wrote it as: Reading Blue Coats. Which is wrong. 44621 Where's that like, never heard of it? 44630 Reading?

Seems canny wound up by this thread like, no doubt he'll say he wasn't and *whoosh* me though. 44504 Well I hope he enjoys his student life while it lasts, because then he's got a lifetime of burger flipping to look forward to... Joke GF, joke. Mind you if you're doing psychology I would think of a contingency plan in all seriousness. 44510 He has, he's doing Philosophy too 44511 Oh God, even worse.

It's not that hard to become a barrister - you have to pay your own outrageous fees to do the bar, after all. But once your qualified you can just about forget about getting a job if your not part of the old boy's network - basically if you didn't go to RGS (or equivalent) you are fucked. Its not about ability, but who you are and who you know. Manc-mag - spot on about the pomposity of medical students, I know this from experience. 44496 And, consequently not many law students become barristers. We're agreeing right? 44498 Actually, I was suggesting there a lot of unemployed barristers.

Student life is an absolute ball-ache once a year come exam time. Apart from that, providing you manage your time well then theres nobody can claim its particularly hard work. I exclude medical students from that (admittedly huge) generalisation, but thats about it.....and by and large medical students make up for that by being complete arseholes! 44480 Never a truer word said - them and law students. 44484 Law students are definitely up there too. Medical students are in a league of their own mind. 44485 I've been to dinner at the Inns of court in London. Barristers are complete and utter pricks, comparable to the worst medics, I'm sure you agree! Mind I have certainly known a few medical student kernts in my time.

Slander! Don't make me get out of my hammock to find you! 44475 I have known people in local government getting paid a lot of money for doing fuck all - it's an outrage!

I agree with you GF, I think you are taking this too literally - don't forget it was started initially as a wind up from Alex. Anyway, most on this board were once students, even if they seem to have forgotten it. I was one for ten years. Give me a student over a charver any day of the week. Those little pikey bastards wind me up every day of the week.

Imaginary numbers are quite difficult, like.

Mind you, have you stipulated adequate loafing time in your new job? You know, your new employers might actually want you to work.... :)

You got a new contract?

Got owt lined up mate? 44429 Aye and no more driving to Teesside as well. I can't wait. I've got a 3 month notice to work though. 44432 Well congratulations are in order then. Well done!

Jumped before you were pushed, eh? Seriously though, have you another job lined up?

Jesus wept, misogynistic madness this, tbh.

I'm not sure I have ever had IE crash on me. And I wasn't aware it was slow at loading web pages - seems pretty instantaneous, tbh. 44110 IE used to be faster for loading, then someone posted a firefox tweek which makes it alot faster. IE used to crash 2-3 times a day for me. Got right annoying. 44114 Odd. I don't think this has ever happened to me using about 5 desk tops and 2 lap tops......

But just in case I'm really not, can anyone point in the right direction for downloading Firefox (I assume it's free)?

I agree, however, I've never played a really good game on a great PC. I'm sure it's amazing but I couldn't be arsed with sorting it all out. I'd rather buy a console and a game. 44100 You have a point, but at the moment there is nothing approaching Rome total war or Far Cry on a console. Plus the online community, modding etc. It's horses for courses I suppose. But I personally find it ridiculous that a non Mac owner (Craig) can tell me that I should be using a console for playing games..... Edit: actually, I hear Far Cry instincts is supposed to be pretty smart on the Xbox, but how you control your shooting on a controller I don't know......

Worst post ever. Why even bother? 44033 Or "in my opinion" - come to think of it... Are you telling me I'm wrong and don't know my own opinion? The point I was making is that the PC was never designed with gaming in mind, a games console certainly was. Your claim was that a Mac was not up to the standard of a PC because of it's gaming capabilities. But you're making comparisons based upon something that neither machine were ever designed to do. I do wonder if you're knocking Macs simply because Gemmill has one mind! 44034 I'm not knocking Macs at all - you are the one "knocking" PCs if anything. So let me get this straight - are you telling me a console is better for playing games I like compard to a PC, and I have been imagining the PC's superiority in terms of graphics and sound, and control all these years? Btw, I own several consoles. You like using a Mac, fine, I understand that. But for me, my PC can do everything a Mac can do. Including playing games. And at half the price of a Mac.

I don't agree. In my opinion, a mac has ALWAYS been superior to a PC, but like with Betamax over VHS, superior quality cannot compete with mainstream popularity. The time you point out (advent of Windows 95) was not when PCs became better, it's when they became more main stream. As for gaming, well if you want gaming, buy a games console - it's not the primary function of a PC. The difference is Apple don't pretend that their machine is a games machine. 43981 Apple lost out for the same reason Sony lost out with the betamax - they refused to franchise their IP. Btw, I used to love using Macs before Windows 95, but when that OS came, they both offered me pretty much the same things. Stop being such a zealot. As for games, you are wrong. The graphics on my PC are far, far superior to anything a console has to offer, and will be at least until HDTV come more available. But even then, I think the PC will be superior to the genre of games I like - FPSs and click and point strategy games.
