1. Rikko, do you not like Chemistry then? I really loved the subject, and found it incredibly easy as a result. Unfortunately starting Medicine at Uni meant there was no way to take it further. Anyway, you're right to be doing it, there's not many jobs available to Geography graduates - I think most end up as PE teachers.
2. With a maths degree at 2:1 or 1st, you can expect a start salary in this country of about £20k, with the sky being the lonb term limit. 61541 I started on more than that with a 3rd like. It's a silly question though. 61631 It is definitely a silly question. Depends entirely on what field you intend to go into. What is the accepted career path for someone with a maths degree btw? Is there one? 61636 That's actually an important fact; it might be boring but I would recommend most people should try and do vocational subjects, even if it is something as boring as accountancy. Having said that, I think a good degree in maths will open up many doors, unlike Star Wars studies.
3. I don't think anyone is 'Pro-Souness' anymore. Even those of us who were willing to give him time (which is not the same thing as being pro-Souness) have reached the end of our tethers. 61627 If you were pro-Souness, then surely it meant you thought he would succeed ? Anyway, I'm just getting more and more tired of him all the time. I just can't wait until he's gone. The few wins when Owens goals saved us are just a blip, there will be a few more of those to come, but he's on borrowed time now. 61629 Exactly, he has these mini-successful periods, but they are inevitably followed by longer and worse slumps. Anybody with any nouse at all can tell there is fundamentally something wrong with NUFC under Souness, despite our good-on-paper-players. Can I ask a genuine question? When was the last time we had a really good league performance? Have we actually had one under Souness? No, I don't think we have. We have wasted 2 years with this incompetent fool, and yes, that pisses me right off. No Basil Fawlty antics needed.
4. I agree with your prediction Gemmill, and I'm honestly probably less pessimistic on how Shearer will do than you are, although I agree it's a risk. The sad fact is though we are going to have to put up with this shit football and shit results for some time it seems. Not trying to pick up points, but this is basically what I thought would happen when I heard Souness had become our manager at the airport. I honestly don't think I over-reacted (which, btw, was more a shake of the head and an "oh fuck" than the full scale Basil Fawlty impression you imagine). 61621 I heard you were thrashing the back page of the Chronicle with a tree branch. I hope Shearer is a huge success, but with him being an unknown quantity I can't say that I'm expecting him to be one. 61622 Have you ever met him personally though? I have, and he's nothing like his TV persona. I reckon he's got a lot in his favour - he's intelligent, he knows the game, he can attract top players (we've already seen this), and he I reckon he can be ruthless. Of course he is unproven, and I'm aware that most players don't make great managers, but I've got a feeling Shearer can buck that trend. We'll see, probably.
5. Another example of someone who was made a moderator to keep him there. 61292 All of the Baron's best stuff is stolen from Something Awful anyway. There was one time he posted a thread on one version of the board that was a direct copy and paste from a thread on there. It would've been okay if the thread on there had been started by him and he decided to spread his material around, but no. 61330 Got the link? 61340 I would if I could, this was back on an older version of the board, this was before the reboot that led to me having to register as Radioactive Man. All I remember is calling him on it and him never going into that thread again. 61343 This is unfortunate, as I was coming into this thread to basically confirm quite a bit about your feelings on the inner workings of N-O, and the childish attitude there. But apparently childish attitudes are a dime a dozen. But it's the internet, so why should I be surprised? I'm getting pretty sick of the banter there, but what's the point of coming here if this is the atmosphere and backbiting that one has to deal with? *sigh* This sucks. PS. Steve - That's a load of shite TBH. 61505 Oh come on, it's only banter. Why don't you give us your side on Steve's post anyway?

7. I think it takes a special person to be good at Maths, and these people are often poor at other things. They often lack social skills for instance. I did A level Maths and it was by far the hardest subject I ever did, because I'm not mathematically minded. Chemistry and biology were a piece of piss in comparison. Still have nightmares about integration, mechanics, and imaginary numbers. On a seperate note, I was told that the pass rate to get a C in maths A level is now 17%. That's an absolute disgrace if true.
8. That was an utter disgrace, it's blatently obvious we won't get into Europe with Souness in charge. I mean Everton ffs! And of course, Souness has the perfect excuse with the penalty miss. Seriously to the pro-Souness crowd, how do justify this performance?
9. It's simple really. You've 'come' across it alot, it's just you've gone blind from wanking too much and the binoculars would be a bit hard to grasp due to your hairy palms. 61566
10. I suppose Shearer is to blame for Kluivert's chronic lack of fitness is he. Bitter fat pie-eating dutch bastard tbh. And anyway, the person who should take the blame is Souness, not Shearer. Is he too weak to select the team he wants?

To be fair it was just a repeat of a documentary made in 2002 though. 61453 Even so, it's a bit cynical to stick it on the moment he pegged it. 61474 Why though? I imagine a lot of people wanted to watch it - I did.
12. Maybe you need a better pair of binoculars 61472 Maybe it's because I'm not a dogger!
13. anyone else notice the over-emphasis on the word female in that post? 61470 Definitely over-compensation, like he's protesting too much!
14. How come so many people have been caught having sex al fresco, but I've never come across it before?
15. Cheers, thought someone might have brought it up but couldn't find it. Could have been written by Alan D'ohliver tbh.

17. I found this article while looking for one about Boumsong which was in the article yesterday, but haven't had any luck. Anyway, in that one, Souness became a complete parody of himself, it was quite amusing really. He defended Boumsong to the hilt, basically saying his defensive incompetence was due to personal problems in his life, and the fact that he was partnering inexperienced kids in Taylor and Ramage. He went on to say that Boumsong was "a proper person, a proper footballer". And he makes mistakes because he is a "proper professional". The bottom line is that Boumsong will continue to get played no matter how poor his performances are. Unbelievable really, sick of having this dickhead as a manager.

I was on a trans-Atlantic plane when she died. Half way across the pond, at about 4 am GMT, the pilot anounced he had some terrible news. I nearly shit myself, thinking we were going to crash or something. There was an audible sigh of relief when he said Dodi was dead and Dianna was critical. Mike Parry made one of his most idiotic comments today I thought. When talking about Best's Dad, he said he had not just lost an ordinary son, he had lost George Best. What an utter cock.
19. This thread has nowt to do with Robert tbh, unless you think everything that goes wrong in a club he's at is down to him.
20. So many If you've never played Mario 64 before your in for a treat, the control doesnt work as well as having an anologue stick but theres so much to the game it'll last you for ages. For puzzle games Meteos and ZooKeeper are two of the most addictive games I've ever played. Zookeeper is basically bejewelled which I think is in the arcade here but he touch control makes it really work. Advance Wars DS, Mario Kart, Sonic Rush and Castlevania. Feel the Magic and Warioware are fun games but their critics would say they're no more than a collection of mini games. Doesnt stop them being fun though and they both put all the functions of the machine to good use. Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan and Jump Superstars are Jap only at the minute but definitely worth importing. Kirbys canvas curse and Yoshis's story are short simple games but use the touch screen for control really well. Another Code, Ace Wright Attorney and Trauma Center are worth a look too. You'll be able to pick most of these up fairly cheap of ebay. Touch Golf is getting some great reviews Good thread here http://ntsc-uk.domino.org/showthread.php?t...ht=top+ds+games Did I mention it has online Mario Kart 61202 Cheers. Think I'll get Mario, MarioKart, and Advance wars to start with.
21. You've talked me into getting a DS LuckyPierre, thanks (should ask Nintendo for a reward ). I bought the original Gameboy, snd the the original Gameboy Advance, which put me off a bit because it is literally almost impossible to see the screen. The PSP doesn't apeal to me at all, I just don't see the point. However, the DS at less than £100 seems worth a punt. I'm probably going to get the Mario game, as I missed it on the N64 (couldn't afford that console at the time, but had a NES, SNES and now a game cube which incidentally I think is poor). What else is worth getting?
22. In the immortal words of RobW...... FLOUNCE ALERT! 61167 What a stupid thread.

Whatever he's done off the pitch he's a football legend. Cloughie got a minutes silence didn't he? 60927 Actually I don't think Cloughie did at all the games did he? In any case he should have. I also think the greatest player ever to come from these isles should get one, without doubt. I quite like .com generally but they are miserable bastards. 60930 Just their opinion I guess, its an issue that will probably split people. Mind, if you can't give a minutes silence for the greatest footballer to come from these shores, then who can you give one to?
