Cheers, I think lambert has bought young and hungry players and we did really well against Swansea. Top half is realistic I think as the team will only improve but to be honest it's refreshing to have a good manager, o Neill spent fortunes and is far from the messiah he was portrayed- 50-50 split over him even when he was here, I do not see him doing much for your neighbours. He did ok at villa but spent well over £140m and wasted a lot. Lambert has tapped into the Dutch league similar to how pardew did with the French league and I hope we have found some quality with Vlaar, Holman and al-ahmedi.

My grandparents were from the north east mining area and always had a soft spot for the toon- glad to see you have a decent side again and are doing well. Seems maybe I was wrong about shay, I always saw him a real top keeper but I guess highlights only show the best parts.

Not sure about that - he has a 4 yr deal on huge wages, may move on if someone gets close to matching the wages though. I believe he's on over £50000 a week.

Peolple there are not just saying shay is not good enough now but some are saying he's never been top class and rate van der sar, cech friedal etc as better than he ever was - I have always rated shay given as a top class keeper and am surprised at some villa fans saying ask Newcastle fans what they think and no Newcastle fan would prefer him to krul? At his peak given was a great keeper wasn't he?

Forgive me intruding , a villa fan in peace, on the villa forums shay is getting quite a bit of criticism, people saying Newcastle fans wouldnt have him back, Guzan better all round keeper than given ever was etc , given has always had massive flaws etc. I have to defend him as I think he has been a top class keeper for many years and would like to know the Newcastle fans views on shay given as a goalkeeper because I think some vill a fans are being very quick to criticise him- thank you and best wishes!
