Wrong/Right, not trying to prove anything, players moving abroad in the 50's/60's/early 70's was an exception is all I'm saying, certainly not like the last 20 years or so. There's a list of 7 players been produced for the 50's/60's (two of whom moved for political reasons), I could have added more than 7 with the likes of Jimmy Greaves & Denis Law moving to Italy in 1961. You are wrong my friend, the North American Soccer League was formed in 1968 and there was a massive infux of players from Europe, Scandanavia, North, Central, & South America. The interest to start a professional league in America was aroused by the 1966 World Cup Final which was broadcast here in the States. Pele signed for the New York Cosmos in 1975. George Best signed for the Los Angeles Aztecs in 1976(and he was only 27). The late 70's early 80's saw a large number of players from Britain and elsewhere giving it a try in the States including some of our own, Peter Beardsley to Canada & Mike Mahoney to the States. I believe there was a Hudson too! Seattle Sounders?

You're a Reading fan, man Brock So you actually believed Charlton could've posed any threat to Reading, when they have all the markings of a mid-table championship side? I'm merely stating the bloody facts. You've completely misread my post. I was just stating the fact that you are a Reading fan and it looked as if you were talking about them from an outsiders perspective. I'm a fan of myself primarily and i prove this by posting videos of myself on youtube Never a truer word said tbh Haven't done one since Halloween actually. Due to budget cuts?

Can we not just go for a player who sticks to the one position, maybe we would find out just which direction the team would be going then?Sick of the one out and one in carry on aswell.Buying players just to cover injurys when we need to be buying to cover the shite.

Glenn Roeder was full of praise for his Newcastle players following their 1-1 draw at Arsenal. The Gunners were dominant on home soil, but it took a fine free kick from Thierry Henry to deny Newcastle victory after Kieron Dyer had threatened to pinch the three points. Roeder has been under real pressure following his side's poor start to the season, so he was pleased to be able to comment on an excellent display. "We had belief we could come to the Emirates for the first time and achieve a good result," Roeder told Sky Sports News. "It could have been a better result had someone called Thierry Henry not delivered such a wonderful free kick. "We achieved it with a lot of skill, good organisation and undying belief in themselves and each other to fight hard and work hard. "A defence that sometimes gets criticised did very well today. "It was a real test for our players who enjoyed coming here today." Roeder heaped praise on Dyer and keeper Shay Given, both of whom made returns from injury. "If anyone deserved to score a goal today it was Kieron," added Roeder. "He has had injury problems for probably about 18 months, the last six months he has had to work on his own to get back to this level. It was great to see Kieron score the goal and it was a classic breakaway. "Shay, well he made the sort of saves we have got used to seeing Shay Given make down the years. "I am really pleased for him."

I thought they played the game at Arsenal how it should have been, let them bring the game to us and not give them the chance to catch us on the break,if we had of played it different then they would have murdered us,take the chance or two in games like that and you've always got a chance of getting a good result when everyone expects the worst. -
Got to be 6 points no less
