  8. I was going to ask about the England game, but looks like Matt has described it to me! Shevchenko went down so easily for the penalty, and the ref was generally quite poor. However we can't really blame the ref. Scotland were poor and deserved to lose.
  9. Aye, it says Cory Lidle, who's a pitcher, was the pilot of the plane. Not sure of his exact age, but IIRC he'll be mid 30's.
  10. 1-0 to Norn Iron. David Healy again. Very very good finish.
  11. Scotland were poor. Very poor. Set out for a point. I guess the downside of beating France on Saturday was Walter Smith thinking the same system would work. Hard to blame him like, but we never looked like we were interested in scoring. Ref made 2 poor decisions in my mind near the end. Didn't think there was any contact for Pressley's red card and didn't look much like a penalty when Shevchenko went down. However we were lucky in my mind to be just 1-0 down at the time in my opinion. Back to the drawing board! Still 9 points from 4 games. Cannot complain too much I guess!

  13. Croatia vs England 6pm Ukraine vs Scotland 6pm Republic of Ireland vs Czech Republic 7.30pm Northern Ireland vs Latvia 8pm Wales vs Cyprus 8pm Personally I'm hoping for another positive Scotland result, but with Shevchenko back fit it's going to be rather tough going. I'd take a draw, but then I'd have said that on Saturday! England may find it quite difficult in Croatia to be fair. They aren't a bad side at all. Ireland and Wales have really got to get their arses in gear as quickly as possible or their chances of qualifying would be over. Northern Ireland are starting to look more like a team capable of winning games these days aswell. They're more than capable of beating Latvia, but then they're more than capable of arsing it up. Any predictions folks?
  14. I actually quite enjoy call centre work. It's a good laugh. Apart from the arrogant pricks you get on the phone, and the arrogant pricks you have to work with if you're doing outbound, it's a good laugh.
  15. It looks like I'll be doing a football youth development role in the near future. I've been running my own team for about a year now and coaching the girls team at the high school for about 5 or 6 weeks. Now there's a good chance I'll be coaching most years at the high school. Getting paid to be on the training field = job satidfaction. Here's hoping.
  16. 'National Rail Enquiries, what station are you travelling from?' That was the worst job ever. Made even worse as the Barclaycard project on the other side of the floor had great craic as they maybe had to take a call every 20 minutes, and they had a wicked time. We never had a second to ourselves and it was mind numbing considering there were only two questions you'd ever get asked. 'What time is the train?' and 'How much is the train?' That was in Longbenton and funnily enough the best job I did was about 100 yards away. The Nectar helpline at Sitel. The job was ok, but the people were brilliant and we always had a laugh. The job was good in that you weren't on the phone all bloody day, but the gaps weren't big enough that you'd have nowt to do. It was the perfect happy medium.
  17. I'll rephrase that, as that's silly. I'm not going to state that Robert was more effective to us than Ginola as fact. I'd say in term of footballing ability Ginola had more skill. I just felt Robert contributed more to us.
  18. Fair point, but when you're 11 you're more impressionable to the spectacular. Hence when I saw Ginola do amazing things I should have rated him more than I would now. I just felt that Robert on top of his game added more than Ginola on top of his game. I'm not one to go with stats being the be all and end all but Gol's stats do back up an interesting point that Robert scored far more often than Ginola. I think the difference being that when Ginola played goals came from everywhere in that side, whereas when Robert played we were good, but not quite up there with the class of 96. However I'm not going to have an argument about this as I'm not going to state that Robert was a better footballer than Ginola as fact. Merely just my opinion.
  19. Glad I'm not the only one.
  20. Agreed. When Ginola was good he was very good, but when Robert was good he was phenonenal. Just a pity Robert had a tendancy to lose interest at times.
  21. Call centre work is quality craic. I've worked in one or two and you can always get decent banter. There's always something satisfactory about someone on the other end of the line trying to argue with you when they're blatantly wrong too. Providing you're not in a bad mood it's always a brilliant laugh.
