Liverpool bid £35 million+ for Carroll
AmericanMag replied to DesperateDannyB's topic in Newcastle Forum
Makes fuck all sense. If he doesnt want to go he has a contract which has to be upheld. Did the cousin say anything about his agent "insisting" on him listening to Liverpool's offer? I have difficulty believing that one as he doesn't seem too heartbroken in that photo on SSN (granted, that may be an older photo)... I am interested to see what his reactions will be after he scores two past us in April when we go to Anfield. -
What I said last time that pic was going round. I think it says something that no one is hugging her...
-
Thanks Barney.

Does anyone know what kind of wages Ireland is on? If the Sky.com report is true regarding Villa wanting us to match a large portion of his wage (because he is one of their top earners) during his time on loan, we can't really expect us to sign him on a permanent basis can we?
-
I don't know if the commentators are different for the US but during the match over the weekend they stated that Lovenkrands was also a target...
-
Before the game I would have taken the draw but agree with what may have said that to give the goal up so late in the match is hard to take. The magpie on the pitch was excellent but one of my mates at the pub mentioned the old rhyme of "one for sorrow, two for joy..." Still... I will take the four points over the mackems!
-
They get Reading at home.
-
Agreed, I get your point wykiki but at 2-0 down away to Stevenage and the team playing like they couldn't give a fuck he wasn't realistically going to make much difference we were just risking another 1st teamer. I think this game and the upcoming three will show how much we are dependent on Tiote. Probably even more than we are on Carroll.
-
Where did the Routledge news come from?
-
Tiote doesn't bottle 50/50s, swear at his own fans or cry like a girl when a member of the opposition gets crocked either unlike that puff Parker That puff Parker did continue playing after getting a tooth knocked out in a match (against Arsenal I believe) tbf...
-
I bet plenty of people were saying the same thing about Pardew... (or Kinnear for that matter)
-
I honestly thought what some on here say about liverpool fans were nothing more than standard stereotypes and banter until I was in the pub and this man with a liverpool top comes walking in. sits down and orders a pint and that's when I notice the tattoos running down his forearms: Right Arm: "Trust No One" Left Arm: "Tell No One Nothing" Then I realized that it's all true.....

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
AmericanMag replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
Wind up I don't care what no cunt says. No one can hold these views. It appears no one can argue against them. Not that it will take much effort but I will at dinner time. You're not sure it will leave us any worse off than we were under Chris?? Hughton has been at the club nearly three years in various capacities, he knew all of the players very well, he knew their positions and capabilities very well, he was respected by the entire coaching and playing staff, and in time he was respected by the vast majority of toon fans. We lost 4 games in 46 in the Championship in a campaign where a majority were saying we'd be doing well if we reached the play offs, he played conservatively away from home which pissed some off, but ultimately we garnered more points away from home than any other team in English football. This season people have been saying he's tactically naive, we've played really shit in three games, THREE. In our first season back up, we've played the Champions twice and haven't lost, beat the team with the second most points from Jan to May last year on their own ground (the blue dippers), we've beaten a side who have only lost 6 times ever at their stadium (Arsenal), we beat the mackems 5-1 our biggest win against them in 50 year, we beat Villa 6-0 our biggest win against them ever, we've won three in a row in London, yes we've dropped silly points, but if anything was seriously broken do you think we'd have even had one point from the games I've mentioned? The Arsenal game away was commitment wise and tactically easily the best NUFC performance on those fronts in the last five years. Yet you are saying an appointment that was supposed to be "an experience Premiership manager", when it turns out to be Alan Pardew sacked from everywhere but READING, a manager who as I mentioned yesterday preferred Harewood to Tevez, HAYDEN Mullins to Mascherano, a man disliked by most of his ex players who is perceived as arrogant, who has achieved FUCK ALL in his career, you're entertaining the idea that nothing is broken? The players even if they grow to like him, will be all over the place mentally for a good few weeks, with our hardest run of games coming this month. You talk too much in your taxi that much is clear, so much so you're not clear in your view, you and many others search too hard for an alternative view when the truth is slapping you in the face. The likes of Jaythesouthernmug, and other mugs as well, mouthy as fuck talking shit, it's no wonder good old posters are leaving and I'll not be long, mouthy cunts, the thing is right I don't claim to be hard, I'm not, but I never say anything on here I wouldn't to someones face, too many cunts on here at the minute. Agree with everything that was said here. As someone who lives too far from Newcastle to be considered by some a proper fan, and also being unfortunate in the fact that I am not a geordie in any way, I don't post too often but "lurk" as I enjoy reading the views of those who feel as strongly about this club as I do (and I am sure that many will believe that I don't/can't feel as strongly as that because of my "shortcomings"). I feel for all of you that live in and around Newcastle as you are the ones that spend the money on the season tickets and the days out for the games. Living in the area and looking up, seeing SJP and knowing that inside are Ashley, Llambias, and now Pardew would do nothing but keep me in a constant state of anger (until apathy sets in) at what is being done. It is a testament to what the fat bastard has done when many of you speak (and rightly so) of chucking your Season Tickets in after this season and staying away from the club. I have no idea as to how I am going to cope with the possible next five and a half years that Pardew may be in charge of the team. PS Thanks to Gemmill for making me laugh with some of your posts... Mate you're as much of a fan as anyone all this fan hierarchy bollocks, we all love the club they make us happy and they make us sad, if you love Newcastle United that's all that counts and I'll never look down my nose at you, clearly your passionate post shows how deeply you care. Thanks. That's really appreciated.- 10610 replies

he conducts himself superbly. He's done a great job, said last year that if Alan Shearer had came in and did what he had done, we would be saying we had a Brian Clough on our hands. Early days yet. To go higher, he needs big backing [whatever anyone thinks to the contrary] and show he can handle higher calibre players because with them comes personality and ego problems. Thats just the way it is. Give him a contract, and it also blows the theories that appointing someone from within, timing is important, all of this sort of bollocks to smithereens. To be honest I would be happy if we keep the decent players we have got and carry on going for the likes of Tiote/Ben Arfa. I don't see us ever buying right at the top of the market again I just hope Ashley realises how lucky he has got with Hughton and the way he has pulled everybody together. The trouble with team spirit is it is so much easier to destroy than it is to create, and I have absolutely no confidence that Ashley wont pull the rug out one way or another at any moment I think the way that CH will handle Ben Arfa when he comes back will be a test as to how he deals with ego problems.

If you look through this thread you will find that I have not been anything but complementary about Newcastle. I think Carroll is a top player that should be involved in the England setup. We were second best all over the pitch yesterday and we didnt even show up really. Fair play. But my comment still stands about the SOL atmosphere when we beat you lot 2-1 matching yesterdays. Did you get the t-shirt, the mug, or the gift pack that included the DVD?

Twas a great day indeed ...as im sure it was for the entire country (outside of the "geordie nation" of course) Competing against the countrys biggest under-achievers. Fuckin' embarrassment you's are. It's like me celebrating that I've got a bigger dick than my sister.

I wonder how CH is going to do now that Calderwood has gone to Hibs. Regarding possible replacements: Link to SSN

If it goes to trial next week, will that be too late to prevent the 9 point deduction?

Managers and the Positions They Used to Play
AmericanMag replied to AmericanMag's topic in Newcastle Forum
I think that's the 'problem' though. The approach is fine away from home but probably too conservative at home against the majority of teams. That's what started the conversation tbh. Why he isn't more aggessive and attacking at home made me wonder if this was all due to the fact that he was a defender in his playing days. I do like how we seem to be passing more of the ball on the deck as opposed to the longball approach of Allardyce, Kinnear, and to an extent Shearer. It seems that the passing is only over 2/3 of the pitch with nothing in that final third. -
While watching the match Sunday at the pub, me and some others discussed the mentality some managers have and whether or not it has to do with the positions they played during their career. Hughton for example appearing to play a bit more defensively at home because of his history as a defender v. Keegan playing more attacking football. Is this a seen as a fact or am I totally wrong? And would that explain Mourinho since he never played professionally? I was curious what others thought.
