He's the manager we should never have needed...but he's the right man for the situation now. for the money he's spent, hes done well, still think duff was a shephard signing I don't know if anyone else reads Four Four Two but they recently had the 100 highest paid in football and Duff was listed. They worked out that NUFC are paying more than the 5 mil. that is often mentioned... it reeks of a Shepherd signing...

dropping nobby and the young lads in defence

Roeder had mentioned in one of the articles today that he wanted to have a big back four and situated it this way so that the shortest was Carr in Left Back. I will try to get a link... -
I wonder if Gooch is gutted??? Mexico being the rivals and all...

I agree with most that has been said here. This is just soundbites to cover their failure during the window. I am also content with this particular philosophy if they actually stick to it. I will wait til the summer to see what they do. But I believe that the supporters should be expecting a signing early in the summer window and not in the last 2-3 weeks like FS & Co. has been known to do.

I wonder how many times he has watched Goal! ???

I will be the first to admit that I have no idea of what is involved in being a manager of Oxford United much less Newcastle United... but didn't the man just have a ten day break??? Seems like he is taking lessons from Freddy on how to comment on transfer periods...

And what exactly would be a "north american surname?" Sitting Bull?
-
Is this only a loan or is there a possibility of it becoming permanent after the season is done?
-
Is this loan move for Gooch with a view for a possible move??? I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere.

If Celta need a striker, Luque is available.... Has anyone heard of the deal Man City were trying to make for Mido hitting any barriers??? It seems that this player has come out of nowhere as a possibility. Doubt spurs would loan him out to any clubs in the premiership IMO.
-
And we just extended his contract didn't we?

Should Luque make the bench for West Ham?

It's just a theory.... not saying its fact or anything... -
Should Luque make the bench for West Ham?
AmericanMag replied to AmericanMag's topic in Newcastle Forum
Let's not start that argument... One thing that springs to mind is the way that Martins played against Spurs. He did next to nowt for the whole game but when he had the opportunity he was able to put the ball in the net. Some were saying that is what you get with a 10 mil. buyer... Luque may be the same... does nothing much but when he does it counts. Like Palermo. -

This used to be the only Newcastle message board I would post on a couple of years ago back when it was on linuxdriven.net. I had lost the forum when it changed locations. It was during the search for it that I found N-O. Now I post on both. I prefer this board TBH. -
Should Luque make the bench for West Ham?
AmericanMag replied to AmericanMag's topic in Newcastle Forum
I agree with that. Give him a run out. -
This would seem to be a signing... Would Roeder be making comments about who he might be bringing in on loan??? Sign one, get three on loan... that could be a possibility...
-
Please note that I am not starting a Luque thread to debate his passion, ability, etc. I am curious as to the consensus of whether we should keep with Pattison or give the Spaniard a spot on the bench...

This is sad... just sad.

I think appointing another manager is with a more impressive CV would be possible at a club like Newcastle. I think that the basics (History, fanbase, area) could be enough IF the chairman and the board would be willing to let go a bit... I am still not convinced that Shepherd leaves all player signings and selling up to the managers (refer to Robson's autobiography) and he just seems to be the stubborn type (as history would show). New board/ownership willing to agree to the conditions a knowledgable manager would have would lead to success. oh... and money. That would be a big help as well.

What are the odds of the "Shepherd Out" protests starting back up?
-
The only way that I see a buy out happening is if there is some third group that no one is aware of and NUFC has been keeping it a secret. Both Polygon and Belgravia have pulled out. I am of the opinion that Shepherd has nothing to give. If this is the case, we should be looking into every possible loan we can. Unfortunately we have exactly two weeks left.
