  1. rly? Anyone who hasn't should question why they go to the football and consider giving it a miss for a while.....cos it ain't gonna get much better on the pitch whatever happens. What can you hope for in your wildest dreams? To challenge Fulham and Bolton in the chase for a Europa league place? Seems a reasonable philosophy HF. I think I hit rock bottom before most people on here and that was the day Souness was appointed, which has helped get things in perspective in retrospect (except the odd rant). Que sera sera and all that. Mind, I won't be feeling that on Sunday. Aye. You had it spot on about the Boro game. I enjoyed that as much as the 5-0 against Man U. Probably more. The Boro game was by far the best game I have "experienced" for some time. Me and the three ex pat geordies I watch with had completely driven every other person out of that pub because of the amount of noise we were making and the elation felt at the final whistle was incredible! Relating to my prior post, how often do you meet up with the ex-pats etc? Comaraderie must play a big role when your as shit as us. We meet for all of the games. The comaraderie makes it enjoyable. It isn't being at a match but if we are watching the Sunderland match and there are mackem ex-pats in the pub there is quite a bit of banter. I guess you could say that is as close as I will be able to get (in the forseeable future) to actually being at a match...

What can you hope for in your wildest dreams? To challenge Fulham and Bolton in the chase for a Europa league place? Yours was the first post I had read where anyone had mentioned enjoying the season. The performance on the pitch was shit. The soap opera that is Ashley and everything that happened off the pitch this season has been shit. I will tell you my wildest dreams when it comes to NUFC and it may seem like a complete and total fantasy... but I dream of stability. An owner who knows what he is doing. A manager who knows what he is doing and is given the time to do his job. A team who plays with a bit of heart and a bit of style. I guess I am going to have to give football a miss for a while since I won't be seeing too much of the team I support on the television for some time and the thought of "supporting" some other team is a concept that is totally foreign to me. I'm not having a go or trying to bring back old discussions but it's obvious you are missing the craic which comes from actually attending football matches and/or, dare I say it, the feeling of actually being part of the city. If I had watched this year on the telly I'd have switched off in January tbh. I am fully aware that I would never get the whole experience by being a fan in a foreign country... I could never feel like I am a part of the city. I have attended a game in the past... it was just the Intertoto match against Lillestrom in the summer of 06. The stadium wasn't full by any stretch of the imagination but even that cemented what I already felt about the club. My time in Newcastle and the match was great! I am also a supporter of teams in the US and have had a ST to some of them where I would go to matches even they were crap, being there is a large part of the experience. I agree completely with what you are saying, in other words.

  5. That's exactly what someone said to me about Keegan...
  6. This is why I planned my wedding for the international weekend in October If I'm not happy about missing a match for my own wedding, it seems unfair to inflict it upon the guests too. As for the game, I'd go same as Monday night. I doubt Jonas could be quite as bad again, and I think Lovenkrands is a better option coming on when the opposition are tiring. Oba didn't look fit on Monday so it's too much of a risk to start him. My fiancee did the same thing.. we planned the wedding the weekend after the season ends. She is just worried what state of mind I will be in if we happen to get relegated... the pictures would look horrible with that depressed look on my face She'll enjoy her "wedding night" if we stay up tho Regarding the game- if it ain't broke....... same start as smogs Better than last Monday night! Aye, Mrs.Fist has suddenly taken an interest in the last two games

    Scum

Are you being serious? This isn't racist? I don't usually get involved in these "debates" you are a part of, DannyB, but you are horribly mistaken on this one. I was going to post an image to support my argument but for the sake of others on the board I decided not to but feel free to do a Google image search on the word "lynching" and you will get my point.

  10. Get rid of Shola... Keep Lovenkrands
  11. He looks down at himself and gets a look of dissappointment on his face.
  12. Wasn't the away game in Athens their 100th anniversary as well???
  13. They are also the "fourth" team in Greece... Generally the Greek table has the same top three in Olympiakos, Panathinaikos and AEK (all teams in Athens) followed by PAOK.
  14. It was even funnier when I looked at the full size image... she was doing her best to make an uglier face than the statue...
  15. ..says the guy who spends his life in the Newcastle United forum... Defending Spurs from the thousands of lies and mistruths that are posted about my club every day by obsessed Newcastle fans. Danny B the Apologist The Yids should make you a saint, Danny!
  16. Cutting off all internet connections until I can watch the game tonite (around 1 BST). For all of you going to the match... hope you are in good voice tonite!
  17. We should bring back the manager that was here when we had Santiago before he went to Real Madrid... what was his name? He was decent...
  18. In going along with the theme of positive thinking and Uri Geller... may I suggest we start a reading group with this as our first selection?
  19. How sad is it that I would be praying for this scenario
  20. At least in a Toon top and nothing else...
  21. Astute analysis. Thanks for that! What does BFITW mean?
