  1. This will give us a better than average chance of sustained success in the coming years and I believe Pardew is the man that can achieve it with what he has behind him in terms of staff and an owner who backs down to no one. We've come a long way since Shepherd begged , stole and borrowed for success and failed, because we never had a settled squad or a manager that lasted long enough or had the right stuff. The only one that promised anything at that time was Sir Bobby Robson but unfortunately we got him far too late in his life for him to produce anything sustainable. I think we definitely have that in Pardew and co and we need to remember that success in the long term, means hiccups along the way, which we obviously will face, so it's all about us fans keeping our heads together when sometimes the proverbial shit hits the fan now and again. Stability is the key issue as we all know and it's all about building a settled squad with an influx of youngsters ready to take over the mantle if and when required. I think we are very close to attaining all of this on every level and with the careful way we appear to scrutinise potential transfers without being held to ransom is to be applauded. Pardew appears to be the low profile manager we needed all along after years of bringing in big name managers that promised much and delivered little since the Keegan and Robson days. I don't think many fans were exactly jumping through hoops when Pardew was installed as manager because too many of us thought this club was too big for someone like him..yet this is the challenge that Pardew will relish and appears to be relishing. I know SOME fans go on about not achieving anything because we won't regularly spend big or bring in players with a name and reputation in most cases... but I think we can all see that it doesn't need world class superstars to catapult you into wonderland as long as you buy in the potential that can become superstars, which we seem to be doing extremely well. Of course, we know Man City and Chelsea fast tracked themselves into pole positions over a few short years but it was done against an unsustainable budget that could not be replenished by club revenue alone and sugar daddies are the only saving grace for their success. We are doing it with the long term financial structure firmly set in place and can..and will... be in tip top shape when many other clubs start falling apart at the seams if they don't follow the example we are setting. We have nailed down virtually all of our top players onto long term contracts that guarantee us, not only their quality services but also gives us a massive transfer bargaining tool if any super rich clubs decide to raid us, which fills the coffers massively should the player's head get turned or by a Andy Carroll type offer. We appear to be buying in players for sensible fees and making them into better players that catch the eye, yet most were barely on any bigger clubs radars because the bigger clubs were too busy battling it out for the signatures of the expensive big named players on the market. We sneak in behind the scenes and pick up the superstars of tomorrow because we have what appears to be second to none scouting led by Graham Carr and co. It's a fantastic time to be a Newcastle fan for those of us who have witnessed the few highs and massive lows of supporting the club but it's a wonderland for all those young fans who are basically walking into the weird and wonderful world of being an unconditional Newcastle United fanatic. I'm one for big speeches so I kept this short lol. Anyway lads and lasses, what do you think?
  2. 1. Alan Shearer's volley against Everton. 2. David Ginola's brilliant goal against Ferencvaros. 3. Andy Cole's strike against Chelsea that left the Chelsea keeper bemused.
  3. Either way it benefits the club though, regardless of a player coming out with it. If a top class player comes to this club with the attitude of it being a stepping stone, it means we are going to get some decent football out of him, plus a nice transfer fee at the end if he does wish to go. Loyalty in football is about as rare as rocking horse shit, so you have to play it clever and use what's at your disposal very shrewdly and Newcastle do it very well now, unlike years ago when we hadn't a clue how to manage a transfer market and were constantly getting our trousers pulled down.
  4. Nah! My Granda's not a safe cracker. He tried it once , working on combination locks and realised it wasn't for him when he struggled with the combo on his own bike chain lock, so he's stuck to tunneling.
  5. You could turn out to be correct and maybe he won;t actually full-fill his potential as some don't actually quite make it at the top and slip down the leagues quite quickly. If he stays though I'd hope that he can be given this season to either make or break himself from his own doing and not be broken from fans getting on his back as some do with all clubs not just Newcastle. As long as he gives 100% in any game he plays in, then I'd afford him this season to show his talent and end product to match his pace. If Pardew decides he can go though, I'm fine with that as he's the manager and is doing a great job as it is, so he knows what he's getting from each player in training and who's got a better chance of stepping up to the plate.
  6. I was taught a lot by my Nana, who brought me up when my parents left me with her before fleeing the country. My Nana was known as a very tough woman but she did have values and to this day she is still a staunch Newcastle fan, still going to games. She's done some jail mind, though it was mainly down to my Granda as to why she ended up there, as he was a bank robber by trade. I'd remember being tucked up in bed with my Nana reading me a story whilst Granda was out tunnelling under a bank and there would be a big bang on the front door. My Nana would answer it and in dives about 20 police with riot gear on and batons at the ready. I'd run to the top of the stairs to see my Nana going toe to toe with a few of them until they managed to pin her down and cuff her. I heard my Nana shout, " what's all this then you pack of idiots, I haven't done nothing"...the Police told my Nana that they were here for Ernie (my Granda) and where is he. My Nana would shout, I'm telling you nowt, I'm no snitch, now either let me go or you'll be sorry when I go to the next Newcastle game because I'm gonna cause you all grief when I gather the crew up for the game and start cracking some heads. The police let my Nana go after this and said, " look Enid, we want no trouble but tell Ernie to stop knocking banks off because we are sick of it" My Nana would come back upstairs and calmly tuck me back up into bed and finish off reading me the last chapter of Enid Blyton's famous five, where Timmy the dog caught the thief, tore a big hole in the thief's arm, which didn't go down too well with the thief and he pressed charges, taking Julan Dick and Ann, George and Ti....hi...mmyyyyyyy the dog to court, where Timmy was lucky he didn't get put to sleep. The other 4 were bound over to keep the peace for 6 months. I don;t remember what happened after that because I'd fell asleep.
  7. If he gets sold, then fair enough but he's only been at the club 5 minutes in terms of playing time and he appears to be a confidence player. He clearly has the ability to be a top notch player and has pace to burn which is a great asset to any top team. Some players take time to fully bed in and you only have to look at Enrique and Coloccini to remember that. Sometimes fans are far to quick to label a player and eventually get on his back which is counter productive. Obertan seems to be a player that needs a little nudge in the right direction to get him kick started and he could produce the goods for us. The good thing though is, we have a very good manager in Pardew and he will know if it's wise to keep him or not but we need to allow Pardew to make that decision and not make it for him by barracking Obertan where it matters...on the pitch.
  8. When I was young, I was told off for putting my fingers in the fire. Now that I'm older, I can tell myself off for doing it.
  9. Ameobi is best employed as an impact striker for the remainder of his career as this is where he can hurt the opposition in the last 20/30 minutes of a game when he's fresh and they are floundering a bit. I'm not so keen on him starting games as he steadily becomes a passenger as the game wears on. I still like Shola though as he is Newcastle through and through and is still a danger to the opposition so he is an asset, just best deployed in the latter rather than the first stage of a match.
  10. Mike Ashley is a businessman and businessmen are in the game to make money. It doesn't matter what he buys into to swell his coffers outside of Newcastle because it doesn't affect us in any way as his interest in this club is totally different as he owns this club outright...it's his baby.
  11. It was an easy run out against Pool's for Newcastle. Marveaux is looking really good and so is Amafitano. Pool's very rarely threatened us and apart from their goal which looked offside to me, I think they only had a few weak attempts straight into Harpers hands. There was some good old tit for tat banter between the Pool's and Newcastle fans. The Newcastle fans had the full mill house stand and filled that. I thought more Pool's fans would have shown up though. Overall it was a good night and great to see Newcastle's younguns in good fettle
  12. It doesn't seem such a PAD idea.
  13. How clever are these scientists eh! This is what Curiosity can do, as well as having it's own twitter account. This Animation is supposed to be exactly what this thing did to land on Mars. All I can say to this is...................Hahahahahahahaha.
  14. Direct observation tells me that we are still and everything else moves around us, yet the moon always shows the same face to us, that's my observations. I know what was taught at school and it is exactly that, schooled into everyone . Basic brainwashing of a spinning Earth. This has been taught so they can have the SUN being at the centre and we supposedly spin at 1040mph at the equator and at about 64,000 mph around the SUN to make it all fit. Somehow, the centrifugal force doesn't sling us off the planet and that's put down to gravity holding us on the planet without them even knowing what the hell gravity actually is. The SUN is made out to be some kind of Nuclear fusion reactor, which I don't buy into at all. I believe this universe is a sort of electric and electromagnetism which keeps everything in place around a centralised Earth which is effectively just a big magnet. Yet if we go by N.A.S.A's moon mirror and spinning Earth, they basically trip themselves up on the laser shot anyway as it would be like trying to aim a laser sight on a gun whilst going round on a roundabout at a still target. If people weren't taught that the Earth was spinning and could use their own minds, I doubt very many would ever say it was spinning and would say that everything is going round us if they were to look up long enough.
  15. Focused on a fixed point on a rotating Earth is it. Ok.
  16. I can't prove that I do , unless I met you. You will just have to take your pick on whether I do or don't...either one is fine by me.
  17. I seem to be putting a lot of input in for the sake of a wind up don't I. If I wanted to play a wind up game, I'm quite sure I could just put something tasty in that would gain a massive bite then leave people to it. I'm serious in what I say and if you don't agree or want to take part, then that's your prerogative and is fine by me. Anyone who believes it's a wind up, don't respond at all. Just to remind you though. I didn't start this thread and also, there are many people on this forum and in the street that don't believe in the moon landings. Just because I have my views which differ from many others, doesn't make me a wind up merchant. That's just made up by people who can't make me see their way.
  18. In a way you're right. I cleared the spare room out only last week and I've made plenty of space.
  19. There's nothing man made in space, so yes, the Hubble doesn't exist, except in name only.
  20. Oh but I do listen. It's just that nobody has put anything forward that shows me it's anything other than the obvious fakery it is.
  21. I'm really looking forward to the bullshit that comes from this made up Curiosity Mars lander, It should be hilarious because the N.A.S.A jokers will have cooked something brilliant up for this that's gonna be a 100 times more comical than they've spewed out in the past, I can feel it. They know how easy it is to take the piss out of the public, so I think they'll do something really funny. Maybe skeletal remains of dead Aliens in graves with ray guns beside them or something, maybe with skulls a bit like those off predator. Maybe they will decide insects are better lol. I just know they are gonna pull some right utter piss takes out of the hat though and most people will frigging believe it hahahaha.
