CT should take up real life fishing as his next hobby.

Aye there is 11 eleven shirts to support, I prefer to support players who are good rather than wishing cloggers were better than they are. Nice that you enjoyed the atmosphere, must have been electric. Seriously though I have no problem with Colback being at the club*, he is an average lower prem midfielder. I would keep him and play him when there were injuries or suspensions, I wouldn't have him starting for us ~35 times last season. * Disclaimer that this doesn't mean I think he is the biggest issue at the club, or I don't want a new centre back, or that I don't think he caused AIDS. These are separate issues. I just think we can do better.
-
Aye canny. Got anymore? Fact is this "hard working/workmanlike/solid/see bang average" mong replaced Cabaye in our midfield, are you happy about it?
-
Aye Williamson is shite. Nobody said anything else? They are mutually exclusive though, just because Williamson is cack doesn't mean I can't want a better player than Colback in midfield. Also the fact he tries his best is neither here nor there, I could try my hardest in central midfield but would I get a game? Nah cos I'm shit..
-
I am not pulling him to pieces like. I would say I have never seen him be great in any games. I also said I would keep him as a backup, but he wouldn't start if I was manager and he shouldn't be starting for a team as big as us. We have had better midfielders in the team with Mike Ashley as owner...
-
What I mean is Colback's level is below a better player's level. At his level he gives a 6 out of 10, which is acceptable. A better player gives a 6 out of 10 where he actually influences a game, because he is a better player. Yeah this is boring. Colback is bang average and shouldn't be first choice, but he isn't a major problem.
-
I have posted my views on Colback before, he does offer a 6/7 out of 10 every game, but they are a Colback 6/7 out of 10 not a Cabaye 6/7 out of 10. Would keep him as a squad player. Think we are done regarding player recruitment for now as we seem to be struggling to get rid of any of the squad filler. Might be wrong mind.

Thought Haidara was left isolated a lot by Obertan which didn't help, but obviously didn't play well. Anita was good playing in his proper position. Thought Sissoko was good as well. Colback offered nowt apart from two last ditch blocks, fair play to him on them though. Decent start and we looked a much better "footballing" side than last season, defence needs work & more signings.

I've gone all football manager here like. What would you do? What do you think McClaren is going to do? How are we going to get on? How wrong is CT going to be? Its a mystery! I expect McClaren to play Krul Janmaat Williamson Taylor Haidara Anita Sissoko Wijnaldum Colback Gouffran Cisse I would play Krul Janmaat Mbemba Taylor Haidara Sissoko Wijnaldum De Jong Cabella Aarons Mitrovic We can't defend so why try? Newcastle fans love losing 4-3 (plus other cliches) so fuck it.

When I was a kid my dad said something about arguing with certain people, something about dragging down and levels and experience and that. Can't remember.

I will say I am not particularly well read on the subject but I am labour member and will be voting for Corbyn. I believe strongly in unions and workers rights. I also want a labour party that is offering a left wing alternative to the middle/right rather than pandering to it.

Reminds me of past pub quiz name, Peter Sutcliffe and the Hammers.

I trained with Simon Smith at Chester Le Street when I was a kid. He seemed a decent bloke and coach to a 13 year old me.- 10610 replies

It was one of the reasons Colo was a good defender in the past, he was never the quickest, strongest or tallest but he had the intelligence to make up for it, the exact fucking opposite of Steven Taylor, who had the physical attributes but none of the mental ones. Organisation and systems etc. get you so far in football (see Pulis' teams for example). Think my point is we desperately need at least one more quality intelligent center back, two if Williamson hopefully leaves.
-
I think I have said this before but one of the most underrated attributes of a class footballer is intelligence (not real life intelligence but on a pitch e.g. Gazza). You can have all the physical attributes or technical attributes you like but if you can't think outside the box, blindly follow what the manager says or have small moments of inspiration then you will not likely make it. We have very few of these players IMO. I am hopeful that the new players (especially Wijnaldum) have this about them.

Opening a bar/pub/restaurant would be cool but I would be dead in a year or two, or least 50 stone. I could always pay for some PI and PL insurance and pimp myself as a consultant but it means being nice to clients, cba.

They come to the UK because apparently its easier to work illegally here. Heard it on the radio, no idea how true that is. If it is only 2k people, take some of the queens properties off her and make them into boarding houses.

Aye it's not what I would do, or even what I think McClaren will do. Just an example.

Formations are never as rigid on the pitch as they are when they are written down, or at least they shouldn't be. We could quite easily play a 442 if we bought Austin for example; Janmaat Mbemba Colo Haidara Sissoko De Jong Colback Aarons Mitrovic Austin Sissoko tucks into allow Janmaat to provide width, Haidara doesn't fly forward as much, hopefully leaving Aarons 1v1 with the fullback. Systems only carry you so far, you need intelligent players who understand their role, abilities and limitations. This is a bigger struggle than playing 442 or 433 for us at the moment.

Colback is a below average, lower premiership midfielder. Doesn't do anything particularly well, but isn't offensively bad. If everyone was fully fit and playing well, I would go for Tiote Wijnaldum Sissoko De Jong Cabella Mitrovic
