  1. That's very true in the UK. In China and Japan however... babe magnet. I'm only half kidding as well. Also I fucking hate wearing glasses, they may as well do something interesting.
  2. I dunno, Man City look out of sorts. I think we could give them problems but I suppose the reality is that we'll lose.
  3. I am definitely getting Google Glasses, they sound absurdly awesome!
  4. It'd be a relief if he didn't, I always thought he might break the legs of one of our guys...
  5. I think it's this 'getting jaded' business. I've come across it even in a ordinary working environment to be honest.
  6. We've offloaded Smith and Xisco since then haven't we? That's £100k/week improved for nothing right there, and that won't be included in this will it?
  7. San Marino's FA are right sassy bastards.
  8. They're positioning themselves to be less about innovation and more about suing the ass off everyone - that's why they've released the same phone 5 times. This won't last and they'll end up as vilified as Microsoft did. Personally I don't understand the hype. I've had both, Android is better if you know what you're doing with it and costs half as much. Same as iMac, I've really never got why people were willing to pay an extra £400 for them just because there's an apple sticker on it. No one infringed Apple's copyright, HTC produced smartphones before Apple got anywhere near them. HTC are from Taiwan though so the American legal system shat all over them.
  9. True - it seemed like there were a lot of slightly stray passes that the England players just didn't bother chasing down, like they'd all been told not to get injured or over do it at any cost...
  10. Looks that way doesn't it? Not at all convinced by Lescott, Taylor would definitely be an improvement. England never change.
  11. You know what, I'm actually quite enjoying this England game. Montenegro are really showing some passion, gripping stuff. I fully expect England to disappoint in the end but there we go.
  12. He's certainly been playing differently since he came back. Fair play to him. Also, how come our journalists don't conduct interviews like this, where you actually get a sense of what the player is like...?
  13. If we make a profit, and they're determined that the club pays its way - presumably that profit can go back into the club, at least partially. So a profit of £8mill could see maybe £4mill go towards another player. £10mill for Wonga. That would give us a £14mill budget this summer - not amazing, but we could get a pretty good striker for that, and that's without selling anyone. Ashley doesn't give a shit about any of us, he's just a businessman - in fairness, he's not pretended to be anything other than that for the past couple of years. I'm fine with that if they deliver, and I'm reasonably happy that they've done so. I don't think we were ever going to get to 5th again this year with Europa going on as well, and yes they were made to look stupid by not signing anyone over the summer, but assuming we don't get relegated they're unlikely to make that mistake again as ultimately it's cost them more money to get players sooner. He's not a genius, the only thing he's doing is running the club like a business and not a plaything. That is literally the only difference. And honestly, I think I prefer it.
  14. I got that on DVD for Christmas - just finished with the Tudors. It's amazing all the stuff they don't teach you at school.
  15. At least they did something, a slight acknowledgement of error, even if it's about the smallest gesture they could possibly have made. How did the linesman escape is what I want to know...
  16. I really enjoyed Game of Thrones but I'm surprised at all the stuff they get away with. Compelling but you need to stay focused as it has about 100 main characters.
  17. it'd be a different sort of movie then though wouldn't it?
  18. ...He looks pretty good actually. Not fast by any stretch, but watching him shunt defenders off the ball is impressive. I think he'd fit well actually.
  19. Agreed, nice to see him being picked up again and hope he makes it back up (I don't see him avoiding relegation). Would be funny if he pulled them up and Southampton went down though.
  20. I'm going up to the Isle of Skye for Easter. In the snow. I don't expect to come back alive (although I expect to die surrounded by beautiful scenery..!)
  21. Love me some mescaline... EDIT - I bet you get this all the time, but how do you embed?
  22. I still don't really get this... How are this tiny Argentinian club going to pay for him again? Presumably the situation will be the same come summer, he's still under contract.
  23. Old Boy... weird, depressing, and more than anything else, Korean.
  24. WTF, this thread lost sight of itself quickly Not complaining like, although that one Monroe posted was a bit bizarre...!
  25. It's hard to tell with the domestic cups as we never seem to bother with them. On the other hand, would they actually get into title winning teams? Certainly they could be squad players for some of them, and Cabaye could probably be a regular even at ManU, but I wonder how attractive the diminished sense of importance would be. Also the club seems to be nailing it's colours to the 'positive French image' mast which might continue to be a draw for them. Winning Europa would be a big plus though, if we could manage that - our success in that competition this year will probably help with convincing them that the league position is an anomaly. If we returned to top 5 or 6 next year, I think they'll be satisfied for the most part. To be frank though, I'm surprised we still have Cabaye.
