http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/newcastle_united/7485216.stm From the BBC when he joined - he looked so young! And apparently was subject to interest from Portsmouth for £10m. I don't think he was ever worth that (and I reckon we probably paid about half that) but even so. Shame he's going, although he'll always be synonymous with a pretty rubbish period in our club's history for me. Not that I say that as a sleight against him at all.

That's actually pretty funny.
-
Very true - would have been an entirely different game. Unfortunately, we were condemned to defeat, and Nasri was condemned to injury as a result of that. Not that I'm entirely alleviating blame on MYM as it was a poor challenge, but given the way that these games go it's not entirely surprising that we were losing discipline.

This guy is so devoted to us that he'd stick around even if they did go down.
-
They also tend to cost more versus other positions though.

What?? I'd be disappointed if we didn't get at least 7 from 12 frankly - and I think we could get 9 or 10 if we play like today. West Ham aren't rejuvenated, they won one game; Tomkins will be suspended for our game for one thing and he's basically the only decent defender they have unless they can get Lescott over the line - and I'm pretty sure Nolan is out/won't ever be allowed back. Carroll is a concern but I doubt they'd have him on for a full game. Norwich are woeful. If we can't beat Sunderland at home after our recent performances against them, there's something seriously wrong. Chelsea will be tough.
-
Says something about our early season form that after three straight losses we've still got breathing space but yes. Still, we have Wham next; 3 points fairly easily there.
-
Does anyone else think that Liverpool now play a bit like we used to in the good old days? Can't defend for shite, probably won't win anything, but it's attractive and I would think pretty exciting for their fans...

Normal service resumed for Stoke/Liverpool.
-
Staggering stat that, actually...
-
I'm yet to be convinced that Kinnear has done a single constructive thing since setting foot in the club.
-
A tradition that will continue the second Gerrard retires. It's not even as if they're particularly articulate for footballers...
-
That's pretty much what you'd expect them to say in the circumstances to be honest.
-
Then again... I'm starting to think that whatever we write in this thread will cause the opposite to happen..

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
Rayvin replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
I'd agree - we played well, although we were a bit wild once that decision went against us. We were always up against it in this game, hopefully we can get to a similar level in the next one.- 10610 replies

Stoke in for a mauling today hopefully. Not that I like Liverpool but even so.
-
Yup, proud of them. Who knows how it would have turned out if Tiote's goal hadn't been ruled out, but it's nice to see them so up for it.
-
Well hey, it wasn't in any shape or form the hammering everyone thought it would be.
-
Utterly robbed.
-
Now's the time to get it cos they'll be all over us if we do..
-
Oh for fucks sake, Tiote finally puts one in and this happens... Let's hope they're fired up for the next half (shouldn't be hard)
-
Where is he even going?
-
Would be typical that the year Sunderland go down, Boro come up. Although God only knows how our friend here would cope with that... perhaps he'd fuck off to Boro forums instead.
-
Mate, it could be 0-17 and we'd still have a better goal difference than you fuckers. We'd also be 15 points higher up the table like, so not a totally fair comparison.
-
Well they're 13th currently, so what makes you think they'll catch up? Just a bad feeling or have they suddenly started putting results together?
