They were pretty dominant for the first half an hour. Swansea aren't bad but they aren't going to beat City. Or at least I hope they don't, there's no chance of us beating City if they do...

Man City are definitely going to win the league this year. I'd been rooting for Arsenal but City are just too strong. Be interesting to see how they do in Europe.

Milner is a good shout although he was basically forced out if I remember rightly (I may not).

Happy New Year everyone!

We can take West Brom if we take it seriously - do they even have a new manager yet? Even being away we should take it fairly comfortably. Anichebe is doubtful and there's a remote possibility that Anelka could have been banned by then..! Although I guess that would have happened today if it was going to.

True, Demba Ba is totally on the fringes at Chelsea. Not sure how that has helped his career.

I missed what the original one was so obviously can't compare, but I think it has a nice ring to it! 'Towards' is a good addition as it implies the journeying aspect of the story. It might change anyway as you flesh the story out of course, but I guess it helps to have a title framed in some form. -

I'd like write my own at some point (I work in publishing, it's hard not to pick up the writing bug) but it's finding the time and having the commitment to see it through. I do think self publishing is a good option, if you have some channels to market the book into. Alternatively you could just be writing it for yourself - which is actually how a lot of the best books are probably written. I'll keep thinking anyway and see if anything else occurs to me title-wise. Good luck! -

Is it a one off book or the start of an epic? If the latter, I think you can get away with quite short titles which can all tie into each other. If it's a one off then I think it has to be more descriptive of the book itself. For instance, if it was a series you could possibly call it something like "The Enclave Saga: New Beginnings/Enlightenment" and then release every subsequent edition with "The Enclave" prefix. I chose 'Enclave' because it's a good word that you don't see around much, but if there is a message you're seeking to communicate through the book that is more important then this should perhaps be given priority. -
It had the potential to be good though - I think the first half, where they were setting it up as all of the poor revolting against the rich, was quite appealing - but then they transformed the bad guy into some psychotic bounty hunter and it became a generic action film rather than one with an underlying poiltical message.

Oh God, my sympathies... I can't stand IKEA.

Ok that sets the scene - I think for me, the thing to work out is why the Enclave need Ailidh, or children in general, and what their overall objective is - I know it mentions restoring science, but is that the overall thrust of the book, or is the story hijacked by unforeseen events (you mentioned dark forces in your earlier passage). -
So... From this discussion I'm picking up that Jonas may or may not have a clause in his contract, depending on respective propensity among forum members for sucking crown bowls? Or something...

Yeah, you need an account to view it - with that said, are you looking to find a publisher? If so, you just need a working title; the publisher will likely come up with the official one as they'll have a greater sensitivity to market need. If you're going to self publish then that's a slightly different kettle of fish - do you have a blurb that you can post here? Also, what is the current title? -
I'd agree - I went out for my birthday with a few lads (all about 28) and one of us got really pissed, to the point where he was slouched in a heap outside a bar between two wheelie bins and was too incapacitated to move. We had to phone his dad to pick him up at 3am because we couldn't stand him up without fully supporting his weight... Needless to say, he was pretty embarrassed when he came to, a week later. ...And no, it wasn't me. You're supposed to have gotten it all out of your system by this age though, certainly.
-
Now that's interesting - I'm going to have to rethink my mental image of you. Which in fairness is heavily influenced by your avatar. ...I thought you were from the 1950s, basically.

I had us 6th too, with Man City winning and Sunderland, Cardiff and West Ham down. We were tied on points with Everton for 5th but they had a better GD. Watch us now finish 13th.

Out of interest, did you find that on Cheezburger? I just came across it and was about to post it here too! Awesome spider.

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
Rayvin replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
I think Pardew had the game plan right, but I also wondered at the point in launching crosses into the box when no one was there or Remy was on his own with both centre backs...- 10610 replies

I think he's earned another run in the team - and if Sissoko is looking leggy (which he is) then what harm can it do. It's not like Sissoko is one of the players we rely on for keeping it tight at the back anyway. Also, I swear I saw Ben Arfa tracking back and hassling people a couple of times yesterday... If we play him against West Brom and he scores, we'll all love him again.

I don't understand where all their money comes from... they're a bit like Sunderland in their ability to spend huge sums of money on absolute shite. They're usually in the top five or six spenders each year though. And yes, I think last year might have been the best bet for relegation.
-
That's a fair point - I was going to say the one's where you expect them to get hammered but they tend not to lose by many because they're so adept at breaking up play. With that said, they're a team that we seem to be able to put away with relative ease, and the team that comes up could be someone like Brighton =/

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
Rayvin replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
I was thinking the other day that I can't remember a time when we passed the ball around so well as we are this season. I know the game has changed from a few years back and that ball retention is now more important than it used to be, but I can recall feeling the same way with Newcastle as I do about England once, in being perpetually frustrated by our inability to string passes together. It's nice to see that Pardew has us playing like this.- 10610 replies

Agreed, when I read about it earlier it sounded bad but recoverable. Starting to fear the worst now =/ Hope he pulls through.

!!! Well, bizarrely, we all seem to be in relative agreement on this one. Happy days, even in defeat. We have a six point gap ahead of Southampton as well, which should see us comfortably for a while.
