Yeah guess so - not sure what the multiplier is currently but HSBC seems to suggest to me that it's at least x3. It's all a lot more affordable than I thought to be honest, assuming you can find a spare £20k for a deposit (or £10k now, thanks to Gid).

Given that this is either Pardew's last game (surely) if we lose, or the start of our middling, plodding final part of the season, I'm going to expect a win. Pardew will go for it. He has to. Thinking about it though - if he goes, the only senior person left in the club of any note is Ashley. Which I find really unsettling.

18 for Uni - never went back. I was never one of those lads who particularly enjoyed being at home with parents, it felt restricting. With that said, I've been being shafted for rent for years now. Looking to buy soon (due to pressure from CT) and am shocked to report that Gideon's help to buy scheme is actually looking very helpful...

That is a very good point... would he come here though?
-
Stay until the end of the season at least, and see where we are from there. While I think he is a victim of circumstance to some extent (he developed a good system with the resources he had, and a key part of that system was sold - of course he's going to need time to re-engineer the system), if he can't come up with a functional team by the end of the season then there's no point in continuing really.

That's the same argument the Scots are using about £120bn of national debt mind you - it legally belongs to the treasury apparently... although I still think that the consequences of avoiding that would be dire. As an aside, the fact that Osborne came out with this, on reflection, must mean that there is a serious enough chance of a yes vote that Westminster is prepared to drop the pretense and play hard ball.
-
It's politics though isn't it? That's probably exactly how Salmond will spin it. I mean he has to frankly, I don't see what else he can do.
-
Yeah the currency threat was the first intelligent thing I've seen Osborne do in his entire term in office. Salmond has got not a great deal of time to persuade a large undecided voter group that he can provide a credible alternative. His threat not to share in the national debt is bollocks, the EU and IMF wouldn't lend Scotland a penny if they did that. With that said, I fullly, fully sympathise with Scotland and wish they could take us with them if they go. We're ruled by a bunch of utter fuckwits in London with absolutely no interest in our region whatsoever. And someone mentioned earlier that if Scotland go then the Tories will be even harder to get out of power; very true - it's like 40 odd seats Labour would lose, that will make a difference.

He's not going to be able to sell the club if he asset strips, and given how diabolically the team is playing currently, he's going to know he needs to spend to keep us afloat. We will buy people, just not enough for us to be competitive at the top of the league.
-
Apparently he got to meet Martinez and Baines though... Not all bad!

It was some time last year..

I would tell them to fuck the hell off. Seriously. Start talking about citizens advice and reporting the case to a regulator. You have all of the information, Paypal have clearly messed this up - go through it with them if they'll listen, and if they won't; report them. They're not above the law and the longer this goes one the more it'll cost them. Eventually some manager will just knock it on the head.
-
What gets me is that we could have won this and I'm not sure I would have been all that arsed...
-
Do you ever get the feeling that the media just aren't paying attention to what happens up here? How in fuck are we going to win this exactly Lawro?
-
That's what that mackem keeps saying when he's on here man! It's better for Sunderland that they're in a relegation battle - more exciting...! Otherwise agreed though, no point in watching us lose when there's nothing to play for anyway.
-
Hard to disagree with that... Sorry CT, the guy seems hopeless. 5 minute cameos when you're struggling for confidence aren't the best time to test someone's mettle, but if he had the stones he'd rise to it.
-
Quite appropriately. I'm not going to get my hopes up.

I agree with the general consensus on this - the season is over as far as we're concerned. We're playing a very risky 'hobble over the finish line' with 15 games to go, but there it is. We were always going to lose this. I feel for Pardew; he isn't great but if I was in his position I'd probably have fucked off by now. He's been with us long enough to get another decent job in the big time, and he can point to having an utter fuckwit as a chairman as being the thing that held him/us back. Makes you wonder though - if Ashley was actually a decent chairman, Pardew would probably having us pushing the top 4...(i.e. if we'd had comparable investment to the other teams).

Try it in Safe Mode and see if you experience the same issues. If not, it's possibly Malware. Download Malwarebytes or something like that, and run it. If you have the same problems in Safe Mode then it could be a hardware problem (video card needs updating, something like that). There's any number of things it could be really, it's probably best to just start with the obvious and work through them.

Can you not take the money out of Paypal before this sort of thing happens? I'm assuming they can't just reach into your bank account and grab it from there.
-
I have a feeling that this is going to be one of those inexplicable games where we don't get hammered as much as we probably should do. We'll lose, that's certain, but I doubt it'll be by more than 4 goals...
-
Can Yanga-Mbiwa play as a defensive CM? I mean, we're fucked, but we're not fucked enough to play Gosling surely?

I've not commented on this yet, so all I'm going to say is This at least means we don't run the risk of ending up with Kinnear by calling for Pardew to sod off.

Still confident - I think there's a lot of underestimating of our team going on (even in here tbf).
