Steve McClaren sacked as Newcastle United 'Head Coach' (Manager)
Rayvin replied to Tooj's topic in Newcastle Forum
I agree but would also add in that the other factor is probably that Charnley remains terrified of making this call. On the positive side, Ashley must be able to see how incompetent he is now. -

It's mental that they've not bothered looking at viable people. -

Charnley is now a bigger immediate problem for this club than Ashley is. He's a fucking schoolboy of an MD, for fuck sake. I've seen more decisive rocks. -

Thanks for that, it's helped me get past the rage I'm feeling that Charnley still hasn't summoned up the courage to make a decision. -

How is McLaren still in a job ffs... This has now gone on all day and its just wasting everyone's time. I can't believe how much I despise Charnley, he's beyond useless. -

Fucking Charnley, he really is terrified of making a decision. He's even more unfit for his job than McClaren is! -
That is fantastic I can't believe someone from NO went to all that trouble to bring a manager in. Thanks for sharing, and to ewerk for the link.

Steven Taylor should get at least a 7 for Bournemouth's player ratings given his goal and all.

I meant what Gloom mentioned - the hitzfeld hoax that he is apparently fondly remembered for? I just thought it sounded like it might be a good story, but maybe there's nothing to it
-
I get what you're saying, but really, is a fan pressure group going to achieve anything? Liverpool fans proved that the Liverpool board were prepared to listen to them - Ashley has proved repeatedly that he doesn't give a shit what we think.

This. A million times this. There's no point in even debating 'possibilities' anymore - what has been revealed this season is actually worse than originally thought. We vaguely considered that Ashley being tight with money was the main issue we had, and that this manifested in things like squad depth and lack of quality in certain areas. However, he's gone and spent a huge sum this season, and we're worse than ever - which means there's a lot more wrong than just underinvestment - it looks structural, widespread throughout the club (as evidenced by the weekly howkings the under-18s are getting) and impossible to fix. We need a legacy builder of a manager to even get close to fixing it, and that's assuming Ashley very much takes a back seat. I would actually argue that we probably need a DoF/competent version of Charnley as well. There's no fixing this with a better manager though, the whole club needs rebooting.

Yeah if the other two choices are Moyes and Benitez, then no way in fuck should we get Pearson. Which means it's going to be Pearson. -
What was that, then? The hoax? Congrats obviously, though if he doesn't post I'm not sure he'll see it...

What a knacker. He's come out with that line about subs being no good but he doesn't believe it for a second since he's not at all prepared to talk about why they were no good. Either that or he knows they were bad but has no idea why. Either way he's a fuckwit.- 10610 replies

Agreed, there's absolutely nothing we can do to influence this except lose interest and stop going. That's ultimately where this will end up, one day, but it's not around the corner based on the past couple of years. -

After making it plain he had no intention of stepping down, the 54-year-old was defiant as he addressed the sensitive question of his future. “Would I quit? No way,” he said. “I don’t do that. I have enough experience. I’ve been through this with chants like that [calling for his head]. That’s the perils of being a manager – and especially of this team.” What is it with people stating that having chants calling for their head is something that they're 'especially likely to get up here'? As if we're any more demanding than anyone else. I've watched a couple of Villa games this season and they've been amongst some of the most poisonous atmospheres I think I've seen. Does McClaren honestly think this shite would look better to any other set of fans? -
http://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/mar/06/sunderland-chief-margaret-byrne-adam-johnson Margaret Byrne has fled the country apparently, as a result of pressure mounting on her about the decisions she made concerning Johnson She ducked out of the court hearing as well. I think that says everything you need to know about her to be honest, a coward through and through. Also means that she knows what she did was highly morally suspect.

I agree - this is quite possibly the last chance that we have to make a change that may help us in time. Any later than this and any upswing won't be in time. The thing is, Charnley will have watched this game and probably thought something like "Fuck, McClaren might be useless...I''d better start looking for another manager in case it doesn't work out!" Which means we'll be weeks away from an appointment. -
"Not enough character". It's not just character ffs, it's the lack of a gameplan, tactical acumen, defenders who are worth playing, forwards who can score, basically everything.

It was, credit where it's due.
