  1. What was that, then? The hoax? Congrats obviously, though if he doesn't post I'm not sure he'll see it...
  2. What a knacker. He's come out with that line about subs being no good but he doesn't believe it for a second since he's not at all prepared to talk about why they were no good. Either that or he knows they were bad but has no idea why. Either way he's a fuckwit.
  3. Agreed, there's absolutely nothing we can do to influence this except lose interest and stop going. That's ultimately where this will end up, one day, but it's not around the corner based on the past couple of years.
  4. It's nice to see Pardew inflicting horrors on a team aside from us.
  5. After making it plain he had no intention of stepping down, the 54-year-old was defiant as he addressed the sensitive question of his future. “Would I quit? No way,” he said. “I don’t do that. I have enough experience. I’ve been through this with chants like that [calling for his head]. That’s the perils of being a manager – and especially of this team.” What is it with people stating that having chants calling for their head is something that they're 'especially likely to get up here'? As if we're any more demanding than anyone else. I've watched a couple of Villa games this season and they've been amongst some of the most poisonous atmospheres I think I've seen. Does McClaren honestly think this shite would look better to any other set of fans?
  6. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/mar/06/sunderland-chief-margaret-byrne-adam-johnson Margaret Byrne has fled the country apparently, as a result of pressure mounting on her about the decisions she made concerning Johnson She ducked out of the court hearing as well. I think that says everything you need to know about her to be honest, a coward through and through. Also means that she knows what she did was highly morally suspect.
  7. I agree - this is quite possibly the last chance that we have to make a change that may help us in time. Any later than this and any upswing won't be in time. The thing is, Charnley will have watched this game and probably thought something like "Fuck, McClaren might be useless...I''d better start looking for another manager in case it doesn't work out!" Which means we'll be weeks away from an appointment.
  8. "Not enough character". It's not just character ffs, it's the lack of a gameplan, tactical acumen, defenders who are worth playing, forwards who can score, basically everything.
  9. McClaren had a spat with a journalist who apparently revealed that the players are amazed he hasn't been sacked yet. They released a statement today saying they were behind the manager as an attempt to get things under control but it's the usual shambles.
  10. What are we even watching this for, seriously
  11. I don't care if they come out, turn the game around and win now, McClaren's position is utterly untenable. Shelvey seems to be trying, and Janmaat has been ok. That's pretty much it though.
  12. You've just lined us up for an own goal next half too, given how this is going...
  13. What are we expecting Riviere to do exactly?
  14. This is it for McClaren, surely.
  15. I'm pretty sure, at least, that Ashley won't be amused by our current plight. It's potentially going to cost him a lot of money. Also, I reckon Ashley, in his own mind, believes he's trying to make us a success. The thing is, he's an incredibly poor judge of character/ability. I mean, a few months ago he handed his dipshit son in law/daughter's boyfriend something like £250m to build up a property portfolio; he's had Charnley running the club for ages, and actually thought rehiring Kinnear would be a good idea. He's one of those people who got to the top, I would argue, almost accidentally. Because it sure as shit can't have been based on good judgement.
  16. You guys aren't considering the actual worst case scenario - lose and he stays anyway. I don't know if I trust Charnley to make an actual decision... therefore at this point, given the uncertainty, I'd say a win is the best outcome.
  17. What utter fucking douchebags. To a man. Seriously why do we even have a thread about these fuckwits, they're a total waste of a city.
  18. Gemmill is going to be along to scold you for going at all, soon.
  19. We'll probably win and it'll secure McClaren in place for another couple of defeats, as a result of which we'll eventually be relegated. Fish will also shift his relegation odds percentage back up to 60%.
