The EU trade deals are set up within a bloc that has a much better negotiating position than we do on our own. The EU can get much better deals than we can. Other countries will not give us such favourable terms.
-
All the EU laws we've been using will need to be re-ratified in Parliament as well. This is going to take decades.

Big reforms forced through by the departure of France and Britain would be something I'd get behind if we could re-enter once it's done.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm looking forward to the dramatic conclusion of the tale of Renton's Seagull.
-
Now I'm not drunk can someone please explain why people who think immigrants are a problem for social cohesion and job prospects (disclaimer - I know that they aren't) are racist? I get that they're ignorant potentially, but I can see what Renton is saying here. On the other hand, if people believe this because they're suspicious of foreigners, that does tend towards racism for me. But the kind of racism you'd get all over the world without question.
-
Yeah I shouldn't drink and debate. Just ignore me.

That statement holds as long as concern over immigration = concern over excessive child birth. At last I think it does...
-
You should probably actually get someone out man, you don't want a rotting bird carcass down there.
-
They could be misinformed...? Couldn't they? I'm half cut so I'm no longer certain about anything though.
-
Surely we can agree that many people who believe immigrants are the problem fundamentally believe that they are and that this doesn't necessarily stem from being racist, even though they're likely technically wrong about it? Immigration has kept wages down, there's no argument about that. But it's also hard to argue that immigrants themselves are taking jobs away from British people, isn't it?

Although he may yet have kill them, depending how things go.

Naturally, I expected Cameron to actually fucking win it - the twat.

Good post CT - depressing though.

That is funny like. They must have been convinced too as they all went in on that 'No way he's going there' bit. Still, this is the city that just voted for mass unemployment, so what else can we expect.

Aye but it mentions that includes goals in the League Cup against lesser lights. At the end of the day though, that's exactly the sort of team we'll be playing.
-
That's two for two then. Utter fucking pillocks. Your move, CT. Any evidence that they don't both suck the big one?
-
Definitely doesn't sound pacey. Rafa could just have said that as it's a go-to thing to say about wingers though. I'm sure he's fully scouted the lad It's not like we're back in the Pardew days.

Fuck me... not read anything much about WWI for a few years but you forget sometimes how utterly senseless it was.

... The man is a pillock, it's confirmed.

I read the Guardian, the Telegraph, the Mail, and the Economist. Because, like you, I believe in a balanced view. I still think we know nothing about how competent they are. In order to form an opinion we need proven track records of success. Gove certainly wasn't a success in education. May hasn't been a horrific home secretary, butshe's also made a number of question decisions regarding the police and clearly wants to erode civil rights with respect of privacy. That said, I do think she'd be a hard negotiator. I don't know if that's the same as being a good negotiator in the context of Europe though.

I see what you're saying - and I certainly think that's how the 52% will see it. Perhaps we (Remainers) should be more articulate on our views on this. I think the first few days were so jarring and, for me at least, filled with a profound sense of loss, that views weren't put across very well.
