  1. Yeah you shoulda been out on a boat with the Fish I'm picturing something Lonely Island esque when I imagine that...
  2. We are getting a bit top heavy with left backs, it has to be said.
  3. I wouldn't put anything past footballers in terms of being able to extract money, but I think the higher fees for mid-contract players are in light of the fact that said player can't easily force a move, aren't they? The fear a club has when someone is coming to the end of their contract is that the player might go for nothing by simply holding out on signing a new contract. 2 years into a 5 year deal, they can't do this as the club can force them to stay put - so the club gets to call the shots on the asking price. That was always my reading of it anyway. The problem is, my reading is informed almost entirely by Football Manager, so I'm not pretending to be any manner of expert!
  4. Wouldn't it be his loyalty bonus that we'd pay him? Surely not the rest of his contract... Is that how it works these days??
  5. China appears to be testing us with respect of how desperate we are in our post-Brexit outlook... I think the reality here is that we don't know how desperate we are yet, which is why the government has failed to give a conclusive response.
  6. Didn't realise they had anyone worth getting upset about if they left? I'm sure they'll be fine though, they've still got O'Shea.
  7. Just started Mr. Robot. Looks good! Enjoyed the first episode. Bleak and cynical outlook on society, let's just say it resonates
  8. Trophyshy with the truth bombs. I can see this side tbf.
  9. Thanks for that post Tom, didn't know much about huddersfield. Sounds like it'll be a tough game (aren't they all)
  10. I don't really follow boxing but have to confess to picking up some interest in Fury. I recall watching him on some interview a little while back going on about how much weight he'd put on and how he was going to have to lose it, along with a general sentiment that suggested to me that he doesn't even like boxing all that much anyway... So yeah I'd agree with Alex - I reckon he'll close the book on this now.
  11. He must fucking hate the guy. That tackle clearly was every bit as bad as we thought it was - assuming the follow up issues are recurrences of the same issue, anyway.
  12. I think we need a win just to start believing in ourselves a bit (both fanbase and players). The longer we fail to get one, the more entrenched pessimism will become. Obviously one game against Fulham doesn't mean much, but we need to turn this around quickly and get on the front foot.
  13. Is that all following on from that horror tackle from Mcmanaman (the first of the three knee injuries I think) or am I misremembering? Is it just bad luck?
  14. What is actually wrong with Haidara anyway? I don't think he's played for about a year or something, is he always just injured?
  15. At the same time though, defenders are going to try to kick the shit out of him in this league. I can see both sides of this, as much as I want him to come good. If he plays regularly he'll probably be sent off at least twice this season.
  16. Was tempted to go for a higher score but after Friday's reality check I'm going to go conservative. We still don't look like we can fashion chances very well to me and if we emphasise keeping it tight again, I suspect a narrow win.
  17. See Gloom, they're just like us. Don't be so intolerant....!
  18. China is fucking brilliant with customs like If you're flying to Beijing in a couple of weeks for China, brace yourself for all of the illegal 'assistants' to swarm you just after you get past security.
  19. Well, it seems we're being jeered up and down the country now. Gonna be a long season of they keep this up.
